  1. Welcome to the sport! I just recently started AFF training and am ridiculously addicted to it now. Its pretty much all i think about at all times.....hhaaha

    But as for your jump, nope no worries. Your Tandem Master (TM) will take care of you, just enjoy the skydive and let us know how it goes!!

  2. Well, I'm a bigger guy and dont get me wrong, I'm not fat at all. Its mostly muscle, but I do have some that I want to get rid of....Probably 230 lbs is a good weight for me. I dont want to be a twig...

    Heres actually a pic of me last summer after my Tandem....thats pretty much me now, only with more muscle through my shoulders, chest, and arms....

  3. Even though it seems I´m late as hell....how can I get in on this, although I dont know if it would work with me.

    I have some slight fall-rate issues due to my height....so yeah..

    I weight about 239 and am 6'6.....

  4. I'm currently in AFF right now and I feel incredibly safe everytime I go up. My JM's are very cautious in making sure everything is clear and that I know Dive Flow very well. Don't be nervous, as other people here have told me, just relax, trust your JM's and yourself and go have fun....

    A tandem might not be a bad idea too, that way you can enjoy it....just as everyone else said

    Just one word of advice. On your AFF 1 - Remember to FLARE....i cannot stress that enough....I forgot and fortunately PLF'd the right way so I didnt get hurt. Trust me, flaring will make your landing SO much softer...:P

  5. So I´m sure everyone here has better advice than I do, but seeing as how I´m a Level 3 AFF, I thought I could relate a bit.

    I did a tandem a year before I did AFF and it did help, I was more comfortable in the air because I knew what to expect.

    As for your first jump, no worries, the first jump is always a little rough. I, too, had problems keeping my legs down. Being 6´6, I fall fast, so I had to remember that. Just take note of what your JM´s tell you after its done and focus on keeping your legs down. On my level 2, my legs were fine and they weren´t even a problem.

    As for your landing, I had a similar but also different experience upon landing. My landing was fine and canopy control was great, but as I neared the ground, I forgot one important thing that we had spent about 3 hours in ground school reviewing over and over.......I forgot to FLARE. So I PLF´d and rolled up the side of my body and my back and it didnt hurt, but I hit going about 15 mph. A little shocker....I will never forget to FLARE and didn´t forget on my Level 2 jump. Thats also how I got my nickname FLARE at my DZ.

    But don´t let it get you down man, take everyones advice here and go back up, re do the jump in your mind when you practice and practice keeping your legs down among other things. Ask your JM questions before you go again if you´re not sure.....everyday is definately a learning experience, just keep going man.... You´ll be fine....B|

  6. Whats up everyone! I'm new to the forums and new to skydiving. I did my tandem last summer and started AFF a few weeks ago. I have my level 3 jump this saturday and am kind of nervous about it, but my jumpmasters are awesome and help me to relax...

    I'm in Colorado for the summer jumping at Mile-Hi Skydiving, but when I return to school in michigan, I'll be at Tecumseh....

    Any advice you guys can give to keep my upper body straight during turns...that was my one problem on level 2....
