  2. Yeah i get that feeling every year. I'm gonna be a senior this year, so I definately have that feeling. I'm looking forward to getting back to Michigan Football, my fraternity, my friends, the bars, and Ann Arbor in general, but class.....not so much... Especially since the past two summers I've spent it out here in Colorado at an Internship. I've loved it out here, especially this summer since I started jumping. I make my AFF7 jump saturday and I leave to go back Sunday. Its gonna be very hard to leave and its gonna be a long 18 hour drive back...... Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----

  5. Thanks everyone for the encouragment and advice. I did pass it, so its on to Level 7 now... My exit was a little weird as i came off the plane and was kicking like i was swimming and then i pointed my toes and all was well. The barrel roll was awesome and my instructor kept thinking that I was either on the point of being out of control/accelerating or getting it. Just when he would start coming towards me, i would arch and flip over. The backflip was sick (even though i think i closed my eyes for some of it...haha) and i didnt put my feet back out right away so I went into a sit....then i got stable and did my track and pulled at 4.5 K. It was alot of fun. Youre1st, i think i had the same thing as you. I definately had performance anxiety and was very nervous. But it went well, i cant wait to just get out there and chill and do my own objectives. Thanks everyone for their advice again, you guys are awesome....can't wait to graduate Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----
  6. Ok, so i've finally made it to my last two levels of AFF. I'm doing my level 6 today and 7 next week. (I'll be out of town in boston this weekend). I'm excited about these two levels, but for some reason, today i'm really nervous about them too....i don't understand why. Maybe its a good thing??? I dont think so, but I know i definately need to relax before it. Any advice is welcome and i already know what you guys are gonna probably say, but hey, its reassuring.... Any suggestions on what to do? Also, how in the hell do you do a back loop during freefall? Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----
  7. Thats how i found it too.... Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----
  8. I'm glad someone else asked this. I was having the same problem I heard that Eloy is the place to be for the christmas boogie....and i wanted to know the opinions of those who've been to Eloy or Zhills.... Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----
  9. I'm a huge RENT fan and love the show and know all the words to every song and dialogue. I can't WAIT for th movie in November. Next, Moulin Rouge, West Side Story, Cabaret, and then You're a good man Charlie Brown...i think thats it for now.... Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----
  10. I'm the friend and student who packed for him...haha...yes i was worried, but it was incredibly reassuring while he was sitting there watching my every move and kind of letting me go, but being there to correct me and show me the right way. It definately helps sometimes just to sit back and watch someone pack. Ask friends and other jumpers to watch you pack and help you out a little bit. With the teaching tdog gave me, i can take that back to school with me in a few weeks and work at the local dropzone up there with more of knowledge of how to pack..... 12. Personally, i kind of fault her friends for not watching out for her, I know that in my past two years when i went to Acapulco and Cancun for spring break, we never left a club until we made sure everyone was with us, no matter how drunk we were. We never left anyone, especially girls. We are very protective of our girls that came with us and sometimes wouldn't even let them talk to other guys....you just never know whos trying to do what or what their intentions are..... I do feel the chaperones could be at fault also, but its both parties if you ask me.... Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----
  13. Nothing new, just canopy skills come into play more. I know by level 4, they were giving me minimal radio assistance and on 5, i had no assistance at all and I set up my own landing pattern..... Get out there, have fun, relax, and go do it..... Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----
  14. Well if I can't jump to get my mind off of it, I either listen to music (depending on my mood also), workout, or hang out with my friends and have a "few" drinks.... Hang in there bro... Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----
  15. My first jump was last summer and it was a tandem....ever since then, i've been hooked and that leads me to now... Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----

But yeah, i took paige's advice when i went too and went in the morning, and shes right, you'll be glad you did....If you want coaching, get the owner Keith Fields or Kevin Kelley....Kevin was my coach and he was awesome...fixed all of my problems Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----

  21. Joe, First off, congrats on passing your level 3!!! You sound like me when I was on Level 3 a few weeks ago. "Potato chipping" was something that happened to myself also on that level and it is common. Just remember, for you level 4 and 5, to RELAX and not think about your jump too much. It took me 3x to get past 4 and then 5 was fine. My JM came in front of me during freefall and once he did that, i remained completely stable and still, perfect. Its because i stopped thinking about it and just looked at him and my body naturally just did it. So when you do it, don't lose your head. I was spinning out of control on my secondtime at level 4 and still had to pull while spinning. It happens, just don't tense up, chin up, arch more and do some toe taps. You sound like you're doing the right things and theres no reason why you shouldn't pass 4 and 5 with flying colors. I'm sure there are way more experienced people here to give you advice, but i knew i could relate. Remember, just relax and look straight and actually choose a heading (i used to say i would, but honestly i dont think i ever did). It doesnt take much to start an unintentional turn. If your body is straight and good position, but your heading is looking off the left, you'll start to turn that way....and if you get in a spin, dont panic, don't tense up. Relax, toe tap, arch....otherwise you'll be fine.... Good luck man, let us know how it goes....i'll be doing my level 6 and 7 this week too.... Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----
  22. I didnt have problems on level 3, but 4 was a problem for me. So i had to do it 3x before i passed. And then i went to a windtunnel and went yesterday. My JM wanted to do a "heading" dive first. We did it, just like level 3, only not holding on. I did 180 turn unintentionally because i was looking at a heading but off to the left, as soon as my JM came around in front of me and i looked at him and locked on, all my instability problems disappeared. It was amazing, i remained perfectly still and then my JM started laughing, because he knew that it finally clicked... Next, i did a combo of 4 and 5. I did my first solo exit, which was sooo much fun by the way, and he did the same thing. He came around in front and i was completely stable. I then started my turns and they worked perfectly. I couldnt belive it....and now i'm on to level 6. The point of this is, once my JM came in front of me, I stopped THINKING about the dive and my body just took over an did it naturally. Thats my advice to you guys. Just relax and try not to think about it, because once you do, it'll just happen and its a great feeling....good luck on the rest of your levels....
