I keep hearing this. What is a good freefly rig vs a rig inappropriate for freeflying? Why? What do you mean?
-
What does that mean 'wingsuit' canopy?
-
I think many have used the industrial goggles over their glasses and like them. I just wear soft contacts under my goggles.

Woa. THAT, would be sweet...drinking a beer ABOVE the mountains at 15K+.
-
As someone who worked in the Property/Casualty industry for 4 years....Yes, do this.
-
Exactly - the absolute bare minimum. I'm VERY disappointed in ESPN since they did actual write-ups for most of the other states, but not Montana and LP.

Of those, my vote: Spectre.

It may be, but too late - I think I've jumped a 170 around 5 times now - when my jump total was in the 40-50 range. I landed fine on most jumps, but as I said before, my WL was only about .91. This was a rental at a boogie. Back to topic...I just chose those 4 since I thought they were the most analagous and from 4 different manufacturers (all being 9-cells and I guess except for the Nitron, intermediate types).

I would have absolutely no problem with that. Just think of all the sleep I could catch up on! Maybe if my vacation just suddenly doubled and several thousand dollars came my way.

WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH! I WASN'T THERE TO HAVE FUN!!!!
-
Eeewwww. That's gross.

Thanks Aubrey. If you are going to be at the NCFF/Byron Boogie and have anything in the 130-150 range, I might take you up onto that offer.

Sundance? It is called Skydance in Davis. E-mail manifest at skydance.net.

Is it possible to get slammed without realizing it?
Elisha replied to huka551's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Exactly. If I do at least two jumps and have had to put any amount of effort into arching (so, doing RW with basically almost anyone since I fall slow), my butt is sore the next day. -
That would've been awesome if he caught it. I'd be worried about whatever it is tearing a whole in the canopy or bonking me on the head!

OK, after my first jump as a (provisionally, have filled out a stamped card now) Licensed skydiver, I was packing up. Right as I was about to shove the folded up canopy into the bag, I felt some huge lump in my canopy. I undo the last fold ('S' fold already done - propack), reach into the canopy and pullout....a 10" long 2" wide piece of wood. WTF?!? My canopy MAY have dragged a foot on the ground, but that's it. That could've sucked if it stayed in the d-bag. What presents have you found in your canopy while packing?

I'm not downloading no applet on my work PC. You'll have to wait until I get home around 6 PT or so.

My worst corked bottles were an 83 Margaux and an 89 Lynch-Bages...on the same night. Blues, Dave At one of the wineries they had a bottle of the exactly wine we were tasting that was corked and he let us taste it...(need a barf icon) He told us that there was one night he got together with friends and 4 of the 6 bottles (different kinds of wines) they had brought for the evening were corked. By "corked" do you mean a bad bottle of wine that has a cork (as opposed to synthetic cork or screwcap)?

It's been about 3 years and 77 jumps ago, but I remember the tandem openings to be much harder on average. JMO.

Yeah, BJ Worth and Chris Needels showed up like half an hour before the ESPN crew and then left Thursday morning. Q on the other hand...that fucker was there skydiving, partying, and having fun. You know, like a regular jumper.

Has an 'A' License card ever been rejected?
Elisha replied to Elisha's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
OK, got the last few sigs on my card this weekend and stamped. I faxed it to the USPA. Does anyone know of the USPA rejecting their card? I have the old 4 pager as opposed to the newer, just front and back. More to the point, I rather procrastined getting it signed off, had a 9 month layoff as well and have at least 4 different signatures/initials from people on (all legit people though). I guess I'm just a little nervous even if I shouldn't be. -
Yeah, I'd be most afraid of dropping the phone.

Well, I thought I lost my cat this morning..until I realized he was trapped in my roommate's room. I think he finally let him out though and went straight to the cat box, so hopefully he didn't make a mess in his room.
