  1. Woa. You're ancient! I went to my 10th 2 years ago and had a lot of fun. Good attitudes around - I was surprised. Did all of you not have a single friend or acquaintance in HS? No, I wasn't necessarily best friends with most of my class, but was on good terms at least....and I was curious what they were like now.
  2. Curious, when you buy a new container, is an AAD (usually Cypres) included? I was thinking no, but that link to square1 didn't mention it in the complete system - just container, main and reserve.
  3. Well, my name I go by to most people, Ole (rhymes with holy - ok, I guess I outed myself) is actually a nickname...for Aholiav, an obscure person from Exodus in the Old Testament. I go by Elisha on every message board I've been on, since I have a hard time thinking up something good and Elisha is my middle name (yes, also from the Old Testament, a Prophet in Kings who came after Elijah). Btw, I actually AM rather religious, but I don't really advertise so you probably wouldn't know unless I told you, but I'm willing to share if asked. Live by example is a better way. A friend of mine thinks I should go by the Greek version of Elisha, Elissaios (or even Eli for short) since he thinks it sounds cool. I was called Ole Guacamole for a couple of years in Elementary school. I've been called Oles, Aholiav (deliberately mispronounced to make fun of it). Don't know what else...
  4. Thanks. I think I will demo a Pilot at the Byron Boogie - furthering my financially irrational thinking (since I only have about 80 jumps and just got my first used starter rig and have no many, hence irrational).
  5. Ryan, If you could get Ray to turn on the AC around the DZ, that might push me over the edge. I'm scared of the heat - it might kill me (I'm only being slightly facetious).
  6. One of my biggest as well. One of my favorite bumper stickers: Visualize Using Your Turn Signal. Although these piss me off, they are quicker to be forgiven because they made the initial effort: .....people who leave their turn signal one. .....people who demand to be let in because of their signalling (guilty as charged - sometimes we need to be let in and no one is willing so someone needs to just be nice and do it). .....people who cut you off, but use their turn signal (at least they warned you). .....people (drivers) who do something to piss you off, but are driving your same make/model (it gives them a slight edge in coolness even if they are being a dillhole).
  7. I'm sorry. I'm a guy, and can appreciate potty humor, but this is just...gross.
  8. Hmmm...total money spent on packjobs... Considering that I've only had my own rig for around 10 or so jumps...I only have 79...two were tandems....7 AFF....and my home DZ inlcuded packing in the rental....hell, I don't know, but I've been packing myself regularly know, found out that my main was a Sabre1 and not a Sabre2 as I thought and I HAVE NOT been slammed yet (but some responsive openings - maybe those 1st gen Sabre's get tamed at around 1000 jumps) even with my own packjobs....I need the practice anyway. I'll probably do it most of the time.
  9. Will there be enough ingredients to make veggie burritos? I'm feeling like changing my mind - I still have a leftover jump ticket from the American Boogie and have a gift cert to pick up as well. (If you really care about the veggie thing, PM me)
  10. 1. Brits who say "cantine" instedda "cantina". Matter of fact, your should say cafe or cafeteria. 2. Brits who say schedule as in "shhhh". Actually, it is more an opportunity to make fun of them.
  11. You mean.....like a skydiving rig? OMG, when LotR: Two Towers came out, I bought my ticket ahead of time, but got in towards the end of the line and sat in one of these single chairs toward the back. The entrance door was to the side and there was a some floor space under the projection room. This entire family chooses to sit on the floor instead of dispersing to find the remaining seats and they ignore the usher of course. Well, the asshole husband decides to do a rather audable (not even whispering) running commentary/explanation to one of his kids during the whole f*cking movie! At one point, during the previews, someone shouted to STFU, but that only shut him up for a few minutes and the guy that said STFU didn't yell again. Ruined the whole movie. Yeah, people suk. Today: MS-Access being slow as hell grabbing data fron some DB through an Oracle ODBC connnection (I'm not a programmer - I'm an analyst, but it seems I have to try and program things too much).
  12. [pathetic whiny comment]But the name 'Pilot', even if it may be the best overall, just sounds so...mundane, while Sabre2 and Safire2 sound so much more sexy![/whiny comment]
  13. Math is hard. Let's go to the mall! What is that from?
  14. Hijack! Well, not completely - it relates to the title but not first post. What is a good brand and price for a one or two person tent...as in to take camping at a DZ for a boogie. Thanks.

    My fantasy

Dude, keep your porn fantasies to yourself.
  16. Oh, is there a past thread about what your whuffo friends think of your jumping? If your parents and/or friends support your jumping or are interested? Don't want to waste bandwidth if I don't have to.
  17. OK, now that I've read the responses, I'll just say I agree with those that said to respect your parents until you can financially support yourself.
  18. Divorce them - they suck. Nah, I'll go back and read the responses now.
  19. Yeah, you're so right about that.
  20. If you're willing to go for something with a flag "theme" rather than an exact duplicate, you can get something like the picture attached, for a much cheaper rate. Specifying your color choices for each cell is very common and doesn't add much to the cost. Sheesh! They could've at least gotten a 9-cell to make it look more like an American flag!
  21. Thanks. Sorry for being stupid and also that I laughed at that porn pic of you and your twin in the Bonfire.
  22. If I'm hypothetically on a sunset XC load and not sure about making it back, would it be good to conserve my glide to just leave the brakes stowed while I drink my beer?
  23. Porque? "IN Stock" =? On sale (i.e. less $$)
