  1. Thanx much, we have lift off.. just wanted to make sure i wasn't missing something obvious. i appreciate the response.
  2. i was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations regarding cypress removal. its that time.. gotta send in my cypress for maintenance. but a rigger friend told me just to rip it out myself.. i keep asking questions, even talked to the people at cypress, but i don't seem to be getting much feed back. . so i guess i was just hoping someone might have something to tell me before i pop my reserve and take it out. thanx u guys!! cheers
  3. so i have done a lot of research and figure before i make the plunge i have to ask u all what u think. odyssey or G4?? i have read/heard that the odyssey fits better but the G4 is more freefly friendly. so to anyone to has experience with both ur imput would be appreciated. n maybe a dumb ? but i want a throw-out, right
  4. lots of luck with ur course, deland is a lovely place. was thinking of taking scott´s canopy course when i get back to the states. and ur girlfriend is probably right (even if ur not obsessed now u will soon be addicted)
  5. first thank u for the links they were helpful. i weigh 127 lbs, n i usually jump a sabre 2 (which is what i plan to buy) but can´t be too picky while renting.
  6. ok so after a lot of searching i think i have broken down and decided to purchase new gear. my question concerns my canopy size. at the moment i have 30 or so jumps on a 170 and by the time i would actually have my gear i will have had at least an additional 80. however, i would really like to get some canopy training so can purchase a 150 (on which i would also aquire addtional training). i was told that if i´m smart and careful that it would not be a stupid purchase. i don´t know where to start at the moment becaue i´m in spain - jumping at emuria and skydive spain. i will definately be asking the instuctors there for assistance. i was just wondering if anyone knew of someone specific i should ask for help (here n back in the states - fl)
  7. thanks for all the help in getting to the dropzone guys. i will definately be comming from barcelona since i already booked a flight there n will be spending half of my weekend looking around. (n when i make it to skydive spain i will tell her belgium said hello - i have thus far spoken with paul). i will be sure to let you know how it goes.
  8. ok so i guess i will go to empuria. i have heard great things about it there n it would b a shame to be so close and not go. does anyone know how to get there from barcelona?? i think i´ll go to skydive spain this weekend(thanx 4 lettin me know bout the good eats dave) n empuria next weekend.
  9. so, i just wanted to tell everyone thanx for the relpies. they were all helpful n i think i talked some people(a few fist timers n one repeat tandem) into going with me last night!! i´ll let you know how it goes.
  10. hola, i just felt the need to make a few comments bout the colorado weather. i´m originally from florida and i must say the weather changes constantly n quite quickly there. but colorado is similar. n in july it is usually very good. i did my aff out there last august n never got weathered out for an enitre day. so, i believe you´ll be fine. i´ve never jumped at mile hi (only because i heard they focus more on tandems) so i can´t comment, but hope you have a great time! i will be celebrating the fourth from afar (españa) so b sure to light a few fireworks for me.
  11. hola, so i am from the US and in spain for the next 9 weeks. i will also be in other parts of europe but the only other place i would jump is italy. Since i´ve only been to four dzs (none being out of the country), i was wondering what kind of advice some of you might offer. i have located a few of them and feel safer with those registared with the uspa. i´ve obviously heard of empuriabrava and would be willing to travel there. i´m actually in seville n there´s a dz 10 km out. so, i was gonna shoot them an email this week. let me know what u guys think thanx
  12. so thanx for the welcome. i am currently in spain and will be here for nine more weeks. i´ve lost so much of my spanish over the years i thought this would be the best way to get it back. i will then be in amsterdam for a bit! after that brussels, paris, and then italy for a little over a week (i have a good friend from there who is going to show me around; another friend of mine just moved back to paris so i now have a guide there as well!) i would love to jump while i´m out here. i´m in seville and there is suppose to be a dz 10 km out, but i want to wait until i´m sure i can communicate; i think i´m actually gonna send them and email this week. do you happen to know what city empuriabrava is in? if it doesn´t work out for me to jump in spain i will definately jump in italy.
  13. i have been reading the forums for quite sometime and thought it was time i introduced myself (i finally have more time). i finished my aff just under a year ago and recently recieved my b licnece. when i return to the US i will be actively trying to aquire my C (hopefully before novenmber). but i have to get, luego n don´t forget to b safe
