woodpecker replied to Thanatos340's topic in The Bonfire
Of course not, and if you re-read my post it says the ones who are wasting bandwith on non sense, and why post a bunch of crap if your not even part of the sport anymore. I understand wanting to stay apart of it, but most of the shit posted on bonfire we could do without. And most of the nonsense is unfortunantely from NON Jumpers. Go to a non jumping site for that or email your one/two friends and have your convo there. Again, just my opinion. However, if Sangrio stopped jumping and money from the site wasnt being made, I would agree with his decision to dump the site, but isnt the question about people who post here and not jump, not own/run the site and not jump?????? woodpecker replied to Thanatos340's topic in The Bonfire
I agree with you Kitty, I dont think non jumpers, people who have moved on, or stopped jumping for whatever reason have no reason to post here anymore. But it does seem that those are the people who are wasting bandwith on one on one jokes or clique crap. PM's and email accounts are where this should go. Not on public forums and especially not on a sport specific forum, but just my opinion. I pass up so much crap from people not giving anything to the community anymore that its sometimes not worth sorting through all of it to find anything remotely related to skydiving. This is not to say they dont have a place here, just the noise level does get quite loud from them...and not all of them of course. Just my opinion, flame away if you dont agree, I might lose a little sleep over it.............nah! Oh, and stay away from giving advice in the technical threads unless you know what your talking about...its bad enough in there without the help. larkshead vs. rapide link for d-bag attachment
woodpecker replied to ljwobker's topic in Gear and Rigging
I would think the rapid link would be the fastest way. Even better/faster way would be to just set up each canopy with its own D-bag, risers, bridle/PC. Just an idea! SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on? -
Been pulling lots of G's with no G suit for awhile. Built up finally (not that its any fun ) True, G's arent a factor when one smacks the ground at any speed since the impact is what kills, not the G's sustained. I was just clearing the air on G Force...at any rate, the jumper would be dead. SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?

The terms 'positive' and 'negative' don't apply in what we're talking about here. I guess if a jumpers were sit-flying all the way to impact, it could be called 'positive'. But it really doesn't matter. They're dead anyway. If the jumper was going in head down they would pull positive G's, head up (sit/stand) would pull negative. A better way to see this is force pulling from the head down is positive/pulling from feet up is negative. God I hate negative G's. Anything over two tickles my tummy. Oh...and you 'G' guesses are a bit off. "The human threshold is around +7.5 G's, for a trained pilot in a 'G suit.'" Actually a pilot without a G suit can hold 9 G's with no problem for at least 15 seconds and longer with a G suit. I believe 12 or 13 was hit in the centrifuge in a G suit when I was conducting High G counter measure studies a few years ago but I could be off by one G there and seat config. has some to do with it as well. Hell, my resting is 5.5 with no AGSM and 7 is no problem at all with a little strain and no suit. All that being said, in freefall...G's arent an issue. Under canopy...thats where the fun begins. Here is what I have so far. I just cant figure out the LMC code for the gaps I have. I'm trying to input information and have it stored in consecutive mailboxes every input, when 999 is input the program runs. (Basically writing a program loader) 88 INP 901 ; input a value 89 SUB 97 297 ; subtract 999 90 BRZ 01 701 ; done loading, jump to 01 for execution 91 ADD 97 197 ; Restored the instruction by adding 999 back to the calculator 92 STO 01 301 ; store to 01, 02, 03, and so on 93 LDA 92 592 ; load the store instruction’s current value to calculator 94 … ; increment value in calculator by 1 95 … ; modify the store instruction in 92 96 … ; jump back to get another instruction from in basket 97 DAT 999 999 ; value 999 for testing 98 DAT 001 001 ; value 1 for incrementing store index SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?
