Thought you would enjoy that. I figured since Macca made it such a point to remind me several times that I would owe that I would remind him to be a little more specific next time. lol But the bottles were big. Next real round on me. SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?

Thanks for the info and I'll make sure the pics are as detailed as possible. As for the weather...... I'll do my little no rain dance and see what happens. I guess worst case I'll take you over to Mildenhall and we can jump on a shadow. At least then we will be above the rain for a few thousand. See ya in a week. Well thats going to be tough since you decided to go chase hoodies my last weekend here. No worries, I'll be meeting up with the old man in Spain a few times a year and pretty sure he will be invading the West Coast for some PGing. I mean items like rock climbing, mountaineering, mt biking, etc gear. I'm already shipping antiques and other type high dollar items myself but having issues with all the other stuff I have. I took pics of everything (would that be enough proof of ownership), just not wanting my 4K plus of rock climbing gear to just be labeled "rock climbing gear" and curious as to what others have done in the past. Not worried about damaged since I will have the times there to show proof of ownership...more about that random box that doesnt show up. And the rig and WS are being mailed out. Looking foward to meeting up at the UKS boogie for some jumping. Funny how you hooked me up with a WS for my first jump and now going to be here for my last in the UK. I'm taking pics of everything but when they actually pack it up how detailed should they write it up? Should I make them write exact gear title and brand name? thanks in advance, *If not military and/or have never PCS'd please dont respond to this* Billy SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?

Leaving this itty bitty island august 6th to return to the US. Its been a long 5 years but good times were had, a few great people were met, and the weather sucked the whole time. I'll be in San Antonio till August 30th, then heading to Washington state for a few years so any DZ.commers in the local area let me know. Also since I'm finally back in the US I will be touring the boogie scene so I can put faces to names and actually not have to pay double for lift tickets. `Billy` SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?

Just checked it again. Sound is all the way up. Wouldnt make sense anyway being the sound is fine for everything except 'online' sounds. Any other ideas? SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?

I moved my computer to another room and all of a sudden any audio from the internet is muffled (barely hear anything), but all other audio works. Its just audio from the internet (hope this makes sense) Any idea? I redid all the connections and still the same thing? Wierd! Are there internet specific settings for audio i'm not familiar with? (lets see how long it takes for someone to mention porn ) SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?

A fairish price would be Two slots $50 Instructor pay $30 for the jump $20 for the refresher $100 seems reasonable. So the concenseus is that this all seams reasonable. Good enough...I asked the question and most say its okay. I think the price is steep, but its not me that needs to make the decision (and sparky, he's not whining. He asked me if it sounded correct so I posted the question on here). One final question on the price of the recurrency jump though. The 100.00 didnt include the gear rental. Still seam reasonable? SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?

Exactly my point. I agree some sort of "quiz" and jumping with an instructor, but to say 20.00 an hour for ground school, 100.00 for recurrency jump, and water (makes me wonder if EVERYONE who jumps in FL has their water training...I'd bet not) If he failed the quiz then YES, some remedial training and depending on how extensive the training then a little cost for a lengthy amount of time. "dont become uncurrent"...well some of us get moved around quite a bit with our job and it takes a few months to get moved/situated/etc. SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?

He just hit 4 months in July and is asking a question. Not whining....a simple question (I know thats hard for most on here to comprehend). 3 years/4 months....a little different here I would say and your telling me you would be fine with paying that amount of money for the 'training' your told you need. Hell, why dont we just put all uncurrent new jumpers back through AFF. I mean safety first all. Whats another couple thousand dollars to start jumping at a new DZ anyway. SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?
-
INCORRECT! I hold people responsible for their own actions. Besides, I never said it was a BAD idea for the training....just the money the DZ is charging for it. Except for the "ground school" requirement. Read other reply for my view on that. SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?
-
I never bashed any DZ. I simply asked if what was happening sounded correct and not so much the training they were asking but rather the money for it. And yes, it does sound like they are "sucking" money out of a new jumper. 100.00 for a recurrency jump. Give me a break. They are blatantly trying to make money off of him for this. Whats wrong with paying both slots. I mean this is a guy who's going to become a regular club jumper and be there just about every weekend. 20.00 an hour for ground school. I can understand hanging a guy in a harness who hasnt jumped in a few months, going over some EP's and maybe even a few things about the jump (to see if the guy is switched on). Then if more work is required, have a person go through whatever training is needed. But to simply say 20.00 an hour for ground school. Whatever...he might actually have retained the information and just need to be evaluated real quick. I asked if water training was a requirement because I seem to remember it being needed for your B. I never said it wasnt a good idea. SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?
