  1. Today I did 2 jumps with my "new" setup.. I just see the footage on the tv and on the pc and the still camera is out of the frame...:-)) About the openings I didn't felt something... Also I have a very snivelly-slow-soft openings...almost 1000ft (5-7").. The only bad thing is that I can't adjust it to film a little upper,so I returned to my old setup..
  2. I understand what you are saying (i.e. as it "appears on the LCD") but that appears physically impossible in the set-up you pictured. The camera body itself is only about a half-inch below the video camera lens. If you went up two inches you would block the entire lens. Looking at your helmet, I can't imagine not seeing the stills in the video unless you zoomed almost all the way in. (I also agree with davelepka) I am telling you the truth man...:-))) You can't see the still camera on the lcd, with the zoom wide open... I will test it this weekend and I will inform you..:-)).
  3. Not in the picture you posted. I mean the gap when you watch from the lcd of the camera... You must add almost 2" from the top of the still to appears on the lcd... I don't know if you understand and if I am doing the right thing...
  4. Because the gap between the top of the still camera and the lower part of the frame of the cx105 is 2"... I believe it is fine. But also I have the option to "slide" the cx105 closer to the still camera...if is something wrong.. Then how do you know the still is out of frame? What works on the ground doesn't always work in freefall. Particularly when IS kicks in.
  5. The camera is a cx105 with the raynox HD5050pro No the still is out of the frame.... I don't test it yet. I will do some jumps this weekend. I had my cookie mxv with the still on the top and the pc105 on side, but I am waiting to buy the cookie black box to return to the old setup. I feel it too heavy and in front of me the weight... Thats why I have the cx105 back.. .. It is strange feeling to see the still camera above your eyes...:-))
  6. It is a "custom made copy" from my original "velocity" from skydance head gear. The photo is from my cell phone....
  7. I am not disaggre with you guys... I am not saying that you should not try to sitfly before x jumps... For sure you can try anything you want on the air,but "you" must have know first the basic things, like get stable quickly after a spin or something else, because if you "loose" the altitude and you are not able to pull fast in a stable position, then you are in trouble. I was jumped with him to film the jump because he was told me that he is good...:-) My opinion... Learn first to track, backfly, control your legs and many more things and then try to freefly.. That's all.. Thanks for your answers..
  8. Why "everybody" wants to learn to freefly after almost the first solo jump? I did one jump this weekend with a friend of mine,to film him while he was trying to sit fly on his 25th jump. The resault was a back-ball position with turns all the time and when it comes the time for break off (5000ft) he get into spin (on belly) for almost 1000ft. I can't understand it. Learn first to fly safe and then try some different things..right?? I mean "you" have a lot of things to learn... What is your opinion?
  9. I have disable all the "photo" settings ,because the auto focus is very slow.YOU tell "us" disable the "photo" settings (smile sensitivity etc) to make the focus faster..and it works.Really no problem at all. Even during the opening when the camera "turns" from the horizon to film the opening...Everything was perfect. I am very happy with this camera. Now I am waiting a cookie box and a hyped pro and I am ok... Now I have to wait to open the door for the spoting,to push the rec bottom, secure the screen (I have to check is the rec is on) and put the helmet on for the jump..uuhh...:-))
  10. I did 6 tandems with this camera this weekend. The first 4 were perfect. The other two have a little shake problem but only when I was on the door and waiting for the tandem to get ready.. The reason IMO was: 1:The plane was at full speed.... 2:The liquid flatlock has a very small loose? I can't explain it because My english aren't very good. You know the two pieces are not very tight enough.. I can't imagine something else.. Also I have the camera on a cookie mxv top mount without any case. Just a rubber to keep the screen close. I will post a photo as soon as I come home.. About the settings with a Raynox 5050 I used: XV COLOR ON WIDE LENS ON CAMERA ON BEACH SCENE AUTO FOCUS And everything else auto. Also disable all the "photo" functions No problem so far with these....
  11. Good morning! I don't know the different from "cracked" to "pirate" ,but now it works. I was tried another copy. The other "problem" is,when I am ready to make it DVD ("make movie" option right?) The prg need the architect dvd prg to continue.... I downloaded the trial version and make one to test it. After 20" the sound was muted, but I thing this happened because of the trial version. Do you have another way to burn the dvd? Thanks..
  12. I will check it for the copy. Thank you anyway..
  13. Well ....yes..I thing..:-) It is not a trial version for sure.. I did a format on my pc (because of another problems) and I will try again later today.. What information do you need? I did "copy -paste" the files from my camera to my desktop and I was tried to "drag-drop" them in to the time line. The meesage was "unsupported format" ? or something like that...:-((
  14. Hello there! I have the sony vegas 9 and the sony cx105... I did 6 tandems this weekend and I wanted to make the dvds... Why I can't import the mts files in to the "time line" of the vegas??? All the tandems are in HD FH quality.... Thanks..
  15. Yes, no power bottom outside the camera.... ok.Sorry I didn't see this before.:-)
  16. I don't know if "we are saying" the same thing but my camera (cx105) has a power on/off bottom. So, I disabled it to open and close when I open the panel.....I manually open it now and it works (records) when the panel is close...
  17. Hello again! Finally I was wrong about the lenses (obviously):-))))) I filmed something,(not jump) with the red eye and without the lens... A HUGE different when I saw it on my HD tv.!!!! Except the wide angle from the red eye the quality was very bad......esspecialy on the corners I apologize for my previous posts... It's time to sell my red eye and buy a raynox 5050...;-) Does anybody wants a red eye with custom made protective filter?? :-)
  18. Hello there! I don't test it yet with the lens or without it. I bought it yesterday.....and for sure there are better lenses than the red eye or the cookie lenses. I said my opinion nothing more. Also I don't see a video to compare a HD lens with a SD lens to see the different.... But if the test proves that with the red eye the quality is worst, then for sure I will take my words back. I believe that the camera makes the different, not a piece of glass....Maybe a high quality glass or a pure glass have a visiable different.... I don't know... Maybe you have right.. What lens do you advise me to buy??
  19. The "infinity"option is the same as the "mountain" option on older cameras. Now about the top mount or the side mount....probably I will put it on the side because I have my still camera on top. This set up is for test the camera...I will decide later.... About the lenses...I thing(my opinion) that the quality from a HD lense to SD lense, will be not visiable from the "naked" eye..If you know what I mean. But I have this red eye from my pc 105 and I will keep it on this camera.I am very satisfied with this lense..:-) I also turned off the auto focus. Read the instructions from the way coll lenses.. It works for me....but remember..I don't test it yet with these settings. Good luck!
  20. Just recieved my cx105!!!!! I will test it this weekend...:-)) Here is a photo on my cookie helmet with the red eye!!
  21. Hi there! Today I did one hop n pop with my Altitrack from 5080 ft. Dpl altitude is 3200ft. It records the jump but didn't record the speed.Max,Min,Avg. The strange is that when I saw the replay the speed after 5 seconds works..??? Any idea?
  22. maybe toooooooo late for the answer...but Billy Idol :Speed :-))
  23. Ok! But according the manual the "TAS" is the "true airspeed" and "SAS" is skydiver's airspeed. "Using SAS, skydivers in any body position can express their vertical speed by a number"
