I know about the student rigs, although I believe they are for reserve side instructors to deploy students rather than the student to deploy themselves. And of course the reserve handle being on the opposite side makes a lot of sense and I was aware that is what the guy should have done in this situation (and of course is the same reason i said that discussion was best left for a different thread). I can reach the centre of the bottom of all the containers I have used so far, although I suppose not everyone can. I suppose it's something that could be done, but isn't really needed and thus not implicated. Was just wondering if there were technical reasons for not doing it. __________________ BOOM Headshot

Read a thread about a guy who dislocated his right shoulder in freefall, the guy in question deployed his main with his left hand, whether he did right or wrong is not what I want to discuss (use the thread in safety & training if you do). My question is couldn't we have a main deployment system that could be deployed from either side? What would be the drawbacks of a PC with the handle in the centre of the BOC pouch? Definitely a valid point, I had the perscription for the lense I lost looked at and it was slightly out, it fits better now (had previously lost same prescription lense in tunnel). __________________ BOOM Headshot

From tunnel and the small amount of freefall I have, I have found that goggles with a foam padded edge (I have sorz) are the best. Not fun loosing a lense on your 12th jump when you are -7.5 __________________ BOOM Headshot

Daft as it sounds I find it much easier to judge my flare height if I land near other people. I think it's either because I flare when my feet get a couple of feet above their head, or I am extra careful because I don't want to fuck up around others lol. __________________ BOOM Headshot

I have seen student rigs with reserve side pilot chute deployment (basically a way for the reserve side instructor to throw the PC). I would imagine adjustable ML web would be biggest difference. Possilbly different AAD installed? __________________ BOOM Headshot

Setup wasn't bad, chains are for adjusting the height of the lights, obviously hydroponics, ventilation looks good, although not CO2 canister in sight.
