Unfortunately the Umm Al Quwain airport closed last year and never reopened.

Skydive Dubai operate from behind the Habtoor Grand in the Dubai Marina but the last I heard was they were closed until September. They have a Facebook page with info on too.

I used to live 40 miles from Headcorn. Did a tandem there years and years before I started jumping but no experience there as a fun jumper.

I used to drive 2 1/2 hours to Hibaldstow EVERY weekend! If they can get one of the Dornier G92's in the air they will. 15 people to 15k in 15 minutes. Could hardly complain at that! Although the drive back on a Sunday night was horrible. I often had 'Mondayitis'

From the entry gate to the shoreline it was about 40m or so. I wasn't there Thursday but I hear a few people got a bit wet

I have an idea let me give you the credit card numbers for all my friends and family as well. Will that be good for you? Better yet I could just give you my bank account number and address for it. That way you could just go there and take it right out. My preferred method of receiving my payment would be for you to come and meet me. I will have the 'item' taped to the end of a baseball bat. Beers fine as there's a liquor store next to the DZ that you don't need a licence for. Plus you can drink in Hotel bars so not a problem!

Me and hubby both used to work at Sebastian but we're now out in the UAE and were working at the DZ here. He's a rigger and I'm S&TA. Unfortunately we had a guy in the states last week that didn't want it cos we couldn't send it halfway across the world for him without payment first.

Yep, it's still closed I'm afraid. Me and my husband work here. Right now we do not have any idea as to when it will be reopening but they assure us it will be. We are still employed by them so they must think it will be soon.

I now have another guy who has replied and he's account lists him as from Leeds, UK yet he want's to buy it for his son in Australia yet he says he can pay by Money order or check (note the US spelling) and the address he asks for Zipcode rather than postcode.

Something just smells fishy with this one too...

Gone are the days of selling used kit easily on here it seems...

Are there more scammers lately or is it me?

I have a container for sale on the classifieds yet I have people saying they want to buy it that just vanish off the face of the earth. We then had one last week who said he was buying it, sent a check to my father in law (as we are out of the country with the rig). Father in law deposited it at the bank and they told him it was a fake. The amount was way above the amount it should be but he didn't know that, we just told him to expect a check. Of course, then this 'buyer' was asking for a refund via western union. WE kept asking for his address to send a check to (we already knew he was a fraudster) and said he should hear from Fedex's fraud department and the police soon. Suffice to say we haven't heard from him since!

We have also emailed dropzone.com to let them know!

Unfortunately these people mess it up for the rest of us as we are less likely to send a rig somewhere without receiving full payment for it in advance!

Hi does anyone have any feedback on SkyWriter 3.0?

At the previous DZ I was at they used Jumprun which seemed great but we're now at a small DZ in the middle east who just don't have the funds to spend that much on manifest software.

Any feedback on any other cheaper alternatives to Jumprun would alos be appreciated.

Glandu - Free only if what? Of course you need to still need to pay for the jump ticket and packing. Where else are you going to use the rig?

Unfortunately the staff packers need to pack it up as we don't know who will be jumping it next.

The gear rental is free, jump ticket and packing is not, sorry!

Gear rental here is usually $19 a jump.

Space Shuttle Endeavor is scheduled to Launch on Friday 14th November at 7.55pm*. Night jumps will be taking place.

Requirements for the night jumps
B License
One jump made at Sebastian during the day
Be at the DZ at least 1 hour before the jump.

* If the launch is rescheduled then night jumps will be taking place ONE HOUR after sunset.

The load WILL not be full to avoid having too much traffic in the air so register early. The load is filling up fast. First come first served. If there is enough interest there will be two loads of night jumps. One an hour after sunset, the other with the launch.

Bring Glow sticks and strobes if you have them, if not, you can borrow them for manifest.

Skydive Sebastian are offering FREE gear rental from Monday 10th November until the end of November. MONDAY TO FRIDAY ONLY. That means you'll pay just $30.50 to jump ($24.50 jump ticket and $6 packing per jump). Make the most of it and get your jump numbers up, coach jumps for A license (coach ticket required).

The Red Bull Film crew will be here from 10th November for 2 weeks so there will be plenty of jumpers to keep the plane flying all day even if you have your own gear and don't need to take advantage of this offer!

I did my AFF in Sebastian in 2004 and loved it so much I kept coming back and now work here as an AFF instructor. The course at Sebastian was $1189 (but with gas prices rising all the time this may be out of date now)

Sebastian is about 2 hours North of Boca. Awesome views and people and we have a few boogies in February too!

Tomorrow at Sebastian we have the space shuttle launch jumps!

Sebastian is off exit 156 on I-95.

Great place with real friendly people and like the others have said it's got awesome views of the coast and Sebastian Inlet.

My personal experience of the others I've bee too
Z-Hills - Great, friendly like Sebastian and busy during the week too.

Deland busy during the week but I didn't find it as friendly there. Just my opinion.
