  1. One more from one of my instructors, coming back into the pattern he told me that when I pulled the power off, "She'll come down like a greased crowbar" Said in a deep southern accent
  2. One of my instructors in pilot training gave me three rules. 1. Always remember to never forget 2. Don't do anything dumb, different or dangerous 3. Don't fuck up I try to live with those every day. Some days are better than others.

    WHO CARES!!!!

I care, thats why I pretend to give a shit or do I pretend to give a shit, because I care. dunno.
  4. Michelle, For you and your father, strength and courage to accept the course that life will take. Cielos Azures Mo
  5. Wendy, That is hilarious, thanks for the clicky thingy. I pretend to give a shit because I care.
  6. He's walking. Creepy, but a free man to do as he pleases.
  7. My first jump was a static line from a C-182 in 1975. I took a couple years off and did my AFF from a King Air in 2004.
  8. Years ago I was given the nick name Mo, it sort of stuck. DZ.com won't let you have a two letter name, it's got to be three. Thats how I went to Meux, should sound like MO. My last name is Hare. Originally it was Mohare like the last sweater you bought. But then it was discovered that I have mo hair on my back than most people have on their head.
  9. Good Luck on your decision, I go with choice #2 for maybe a slightly different reason. A great instructor is a wonderful thing. Does that mean you can't get the rating with less than that? How many pilots have suffered under dip shit instructors? thousands. It's only a season, whether it's a great instructor or a shit bag, once you've got the ticket they are history. For your instrument training, gray skies, for your skydiving, blue skies. Mo
  10. Adding to the finding the right person thing, I believe it means "Being the Right Person". All my focus is on me, who I am, what I am, am I worthy of that kind of relationship? That shouldn't sound egotistical, it's meant to say that I can't control someone elses happiness, only mine. My goal is to be happy with all my good stuff and accept the faults and failures. If I love myself, it will make it easy to love that other person, faults and all when the time comes. If I go bedhopping at every chance, that is the answer to my question. If I wait and prepare myself by self examination and knowing who I truly am, in time that "Right" person will appear. Great discussion, loved the comments by all. It sounds like one of the girls is happy with experimenting with different men. No problem, I hope every one stays healthy. Another girl sounds like she is waiting for the "Right" guy to come along. Fantastic, I hope she doesn't wait too long. Me. I'm stuck in the middle. I love a monogamous relationship, scared to death to make that life long commitment. This is my little boulder that I have to carry around. Someday I would love to drop it. I really admire the folks who have been in those long term commited loving relationships. It sounds like they are in a good place. Thunderstorms, low clouds, no jumping today, maybe tomorrow. B License soon. Blue Skies Mo
  11. All of us 50s guys are in fourth place. Where did the time go?
  12. Did I miss it, you've never enjoyed # 13? Not even a 20? I'm thinking you gotta be getting close to # 52 (lifetime) not even a # 54? Tell the truth, # 61, never? 62? those go hand in hand One of my favorites was 61. Good Luck on filling in the blanks. Mo
  13. Dumpster, My ex-wife had it and I'm sorry to say, there was nothing she could do about it. One option we considered was surgery to cut the nerve to the ear. Even then there was a chance that she would be totally deaf, but still hear the ringing. I'm sorry to hear that you have it. Perhaps your case is different enought that there might be a solution. Mo
  14. I'm a low numbers guy and I love both. I did my AFF at a nice small place and then went to one of the multi turbine big DZ places with lots of 4 way teams that don't speak english (primarily, when engaged they speak it better than I do) Each DZ has something positive to offer, early in my skydiving career I feel that I've gained from both. Now I'm hoping to get enough jumps and cash saved up to make a day or two of the WFFC. That looks like an absolute HOOT. Cielos Azures Mo
  15. Were the movies "This is Spinal Tap", "Best of Show", "Waiting for Guffman" and "A Mighty Wind" all B movies? If so, they are all my favorites. If not, they are all just funny as hell A movies

    been a year

Just went over two years and it gets better all the time. Or to say it another way, I Love Being Single. Some day I hope to be in a long term commited loving relationship, Good Luck to you in your search Mo
  17. BB, Thanks for the notice. I will try to make it. I'm new to all this and would love to meet and jump with some of these personalities I've seen at DZ.Com. My history is AFF at Titusville last October, since then I've jumped at Deland and done about 15 minutes in the tunnel. Hope to have my B license soon and be a good jumping compadre come July. At the very minimum would love to hang out at the bonfire and tip a frosty one with you guys and hear the stories. Oh, and it's for a worthy cause too. Fingers crossed. Mo
  18. Don, I've sprained my ankle severely twice playing softball. To date the worst thing that has happened to me jumping from airplanes is that I broke a finger nail. I got over it pretty quickly when I realized how long they were. Go Jump. Prepare yourself for the addiction that follows. Be careful in the shower, you might slip and break your neck.
  19. Strongly agree that learning to fly a jet makes landing a parachute easier. Not to mention the drills we did for ejection training. I'd like to see us get credit for our water survival training. No offense intended against the fine instructor I had for my civilian water training, but it was all more than covered in my military training. Also, strongly agree with the person who mentioned Scott Millers course. I took it on jumps 13-18 and have since had tremendous confidence in landing. Whirled Peas
