  1. Nah, it's all for show. A damaged oil pipeline in Georgia should halt the slip in the price of oil. Don't let them trick you into believing that they're unhappy Short-term thinking only. The neo-cons are desperate to gain access to oil from Baku (on the Caspian Sea) to the Black Sea. Without Georgia--they're dead in the water. Their "Grand Chessboard" is going up in flames. It might be time for them to take up Checkers. This just in: "The Russian news website Izvestia is reporting that an African American soldier/mercenary has been captured by Russian forces. He was captured with a number of Georgian soldiers, whose specialty was in handling ordinances. The report mentions that they believe he is a Nato instructor, and that he has been transferred to the Russian base of Vladikavkaz. It also reports finding bodies of dead soldiers in Tskhinvali, the capital city of South Ossetia. But what stood out in the report was that some of the corpses were negroes." Consider this: google maps has censored interior viewing of Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Why? http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=40.763901,45.74707&spn=8.917903,13.908691&z=6 Strange days indeed. “Keep your elbow up!"
  2. I'd have to presume that if the neocons, corporate media, Israel, McCain and Condi Rice are all whining about Russia "invading" Georgia, then Russia must be the good guys in this instance. Here's a curious development from Interfax, Aug. 10, 2008: The authorities in South Ossetia have said that foreign mercenaries are fighting on the side of the Georgian forces. "I have been told that there were both black guys and completely fair-skinned guys there. The black ones are, probably, Americans, while the fair-skinned ones are, possibly, Ukrainian mercenaries," South Ossetian foreign minister Murat Dzhioyev told Interfax on Sunday [10 August]. At the same time, he stressed that currently "it is impossible to exactly identify the citizenship of the dead mercenaries". "But we will try to involve investigative bodies in getting the citizenship of these mercenaries confirmed by documents," Dzhioyev noted. More updates as they emerge . . . . “Keep your elbow up!"
  3. Booga-booga! Evil terrists gonna getcha! Ooooooo--they're just so EVIL. Make `em stop! Pleeeeeeese!!! “Keep your elbow up!"
  4. Sounds like the juvenile blatherings of another well-indoctrinated (Faux News) rascist tool. I hope this tool has got enough patriotic fervor to enlist in the cannon fodder--er, military--before all the good Mohammeds are taken. We'll miss you . . . go get `em, Hos! “Keep your elbow up!"
  5. Ah, but here is a reason. Russia, the Soviet Union, whatever they're calling themselves, has ALWAYS been an expansionist empire. Historically, Russia has always invaded neighbor states like Ukraine, Georgia, the Baltic countries, and Poland. As well as the Islamic camel dung states, like Kazakhstan and the like. It shouldn't surprise anyone that they're doing it again. Under Putin (oh wait - he's just the Prime Minister anymore...), er, Medvedev, they sense the opportunity with this ethnic Russian uprising in the southern Ossetia province. Glass houses. The US has 725 military bases in over 130 countries. I call it empire. You can call it Mabel. Who cares? We spend so much freaking money on the military to make the world safe for Haliburton, McDonalds, Monsanto, Exxon et al that the entire world struggles to even match what we spend on keeping "Mabel" up. But it's all about spreading "democracy", right? You'll have to have a chat with Mr. Right Hand for that one. “Keep your elbow up!"
  6. Amazon--you smoking the peace pipe AGAIN? Every decent `merican KNOWS that Christopher Columbus didn't discover `merica `til 1492. Jeeezzzz!! “Keep your elbow up!"
  7. So it would seem--if your only source for becoming misinformed is corporate western media, esp. Faux news. [Pravda never had it so good]. In fact, Georgia flouted the UN General Assembly's request for a truce during the Beijing Olympics. They have pummeled civilian targets in South Ossetia--some might call it "ethnic cleansing". Georgian tanks and infantry, aided by Israeli military advisers, captured the capital of breakaway South Ossetia, Tskhinvali, early Friday, Aug. 8. The Georgians engaged in artillery and missile volley fire into civilian towns--completely destroying many areas and killing many people. Russian warplanes bombed only AFTER the Georgian's invasion of South Ossetia. Here's the second layer of the onion you missed on ABCNNBCBSFox: "DEBKAfile discloses Israel’s interest in the conflict from its exclusive military sources: [Israel] owns a strong interest in Caspian oil and gas pipelines reach the Turkish terminal port of Ceyhan, rather than the Russian network. Intense negotiations are afoot between Israel, Turkey, Georgia, Turkmenistan and Azarbaijan for pipelines to reach Turkey and thence to Israel’s oil terminal at Ashkelon and on to its Red Sea port of Eilat. From there, supertankers can carry the gas and oil to the Far East through the Indian Ocean. Aware of Moscow’s sensitivity on the oil question, Israel offered Russia a stake in the project but was rejected. Last year, the Georgian president commissioned from private Israeli security firms several hundred military advisers, estimated at up to 1,000, to train the Georgian armed forces in commando, air, sea, armored and artillery combat tactics. They also offer instruction on military intelligence and security for the central regime. Tbilisi also purchased weapons, intelligence and electronic warfare systems from Israel. These advisers were undoubtedly deeply involved in the Georgian army’s preparations to conquer the South Ossetian capital Friday. In recent weeks, Moscow has repeatedly demanded that Jerusalem halt its military assistance to Georgia, finally threatening a crisis in bilateral relations. Israel responded by saying that the only assistance rendered Tbilisi was “defensive.” This has not gone down well in the Kremlin. Therefore, as the military crisis intensifies in South Ossetia, Moscow may be expected to punish Israel for its intervention. [DEBKAfiles.com--an *Israeli* independent news source] And that's the REST of the story. We return you to your regularly scheduled pablum. “Keep your elbow up!"
  8. "Morons! Your bus is leaving!! -- Phil Connors (Bill Murray) in "Groundhog Day" CENTCOM needs more cannon fodder, er ah "heroes" to enlist right now to fight the evil . . . uh, youknow, bad ones. USA! USA!! USA!!! “Keep your elbow up!"
  9. But God's OK with those "heroic" bible thumpers in the Air Force who drop their bombs and missiles on innocent civilians? I don't know . . . it's just so hard for me to wrap my beautiful mind around the double standards we hold so dear.
  10. At that point, I think I'd have to say something like: "Well, your god sounds like a hateful bastard and I want nothing to do with her." "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." - Mahatma Gandhi
  11. "When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains, And the women come out to cut up what remains, Jest roll to your rifle and blow out yer brains An' go to yer Gawd like a soldier." --Rudyard Kipling Brits, Soviets, Americans . . . whomever. Afghanistan is a tar baby and those who try to rule--er, "seek regional stability" there do so to their everlasting misfortune. History repeats and no amount of chest-thumping "our military can kick your ass" will matter. Endless battles "won" still result in wars "lost". [Just ask any North Vietnamese General.] The U.S wouldn't even be in Afghanistan if the Taliban had rolled over in 2001 (pre-9/11) and let the Unical boys build their little pipeline into central asia. But they wouldn't play nice, so we socialized the problem and brought in the military who specialize in killing people and breaking things. Woo-hoo! Problem solved. Not.
  12. Hey, good luck with that belief system of yours . . . . Lemme guess--you've never shot a handgun in your life? You wanna know how to tell whether someone (who is pointing a gun at you) is going to kill you or just rob you? Wait until he pulls the trigger. [But I obeyed all his commands--waaaaahh!!] If I have a gun pointed at me and the $hiteater intends to shoot me--I have at least *some* chance of saving my life. Even if he doesn't intend to shoot me--too bad. I give myself the benefit of the doubt. With your theory: 100% failure rate--guaranteed. So, (in your world) every armed encounter is with a crack addict? PUT DOWN THE REMOTE, DUDE! Carrying a handgun in the land of OZ is not as do-able as here in the States, but if you are robbed by a gun-wielding assailant, what does that say about gun control laws? You are screwed. So . . . don't forget to "obey his commands" and good luck.
  13. Official FBI definition of terrorism: "Terrorism is the unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives." How's that for a sweeping definition? Don't even think about TPing the head cheerleader's house anymore.
  14. Patty Smyth of "Scandal" (talented, do-able, and STILL do-able) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1Ajc0VxHcc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOhA5wo34Rw Dale Bozzio of "Missing Persons" was pretty do-able (back then anyway).
  15. Easy now...easy now...it's just us dorks spreading $hit. Not getting to you are we? If my company was holding 2 trillion in coconuts, I'd be polishing my resume and storing rice Facts are proveable. Faith isn't. So, you're not a conspiratorialist, eh? That's amusing. But, I'll bet you believe that two or more people conspired to commit a crime against the U.S., right? Ergo . . . you ARE a conspiratorialist. It's just a matter of WHICH conspiracy you buy into. I think the "official" one is utterly ludicrous--but then, I'm not very credulous when it comes to official anything. Nevertheless, I don't call others who cling to the "official" fairy tale "f'in" anything. Naive maybe. Instead, I just sit here enjoying my ever-increasing schadenfreude moments. Like when I hear my Mr. Smarterthanyou neighbor tell me that he has to sell his H3 and a trailerful of ATVs beauce his HELOC evaporated. "Go get `em, Biff!" Boo-effin-hoo. We must be--as the Chinese say--living in "interesting times" because my schadenfreude moments seem to be increasing. Got popcorn?? "McCain-Lieberman--vote for them or my cranky Old Testament God will smite thee or worse!" “Keep your elbow up!"
  16. There's no place like home . . . There's no place like home . . . There's no place like home . . . There's no place like home . . . There's no place like home . . . “Keep your elbow up!"
  17. "i put these fucknuts on par with the 9/11 conspiracy assholes." Which fucknuts did you have in mind? The ones who bend over for anything the MSM tells them? Like the fairy tale that 19 mystery Muslims with boxcutters managed to commandeer four jet airliners, passengers called peeps on their cell phones (say what??) to describe the unfolding drama, that these terrorists could actually fly the jets or even knew where the hell to fly? That a bunch of "heroes" wrested control of Flight 93 and managed to drill the aircraft into a hole eight miles long? That three steel skyscrapers (never happened before or since) collapsed at nearly freefall speed into their own footprint from jetfuel and kerosine fires? Sorry, but credibility--like virginity--is lost for me just once. The phrase "useful idiot" comes to mind for those seemingly intelligent, yet credulous folk, who belly laugh at all but the officially-sanctioned conspiracy theories and merrily proceed through life based upon the assumption that all is as it's reported. Can anyone with even a modicum of skepticism put any faith in anything eminating from the current regime in the White House/Pentagon? Serial liars do not make for reliable sources of information. An open mind--can it exist when certain ideas are dismissed out-of-hand and subjected to ridicule? That's just a disinformation/propaganda tool. I see naked emperors everywhere and my bullshit detector has been pegged every day since 9/11, but then my worldview and income don't depend upon actually buying the $hit they peddle on Fox, CNN et al. McCain is the kind of guy who would give you change in three dollar bills. Lemme guess, you think the housing bubble is just negative press from the "liberal media"? Next . . . .
  18. Sounds like a case of cognitive dissonance. Of course you can always rely on the MSM. Try the Washington Post for starters--there's a reliable news rag for you.
  19. D.B.? Spot (as in good)? Riser? Toggle? Chance? Lucky? Packer? Chopper? [favorite skydiving pioneer]? Azul (blue)? Blue?
  20. Uh, noooo . . . it's corporate America that asks for them. Joe and Mary 6P, who lose their jobs to them, just get to pay for the illegal's bennies and live amongst them once they're here. [Socialism for the rich--free enterprise for the rabble] Few things piss me off more than the urban legend of "they do the jobs that Americans won't do". Bull-effin-crap! They do the jobs that Americans won't do for that pisspoor WAGE. Pay any American citizen a decent wage to do ANYTHING and you'll find workers--especially if you pull the dole mat out from under them. Unfortunately, paying legal American workers a competitive wage might affect the bottom line of Mr. and Mrs. Thurston Howell III. You wanna pretend that you're all about the "free market", Mr. Howell? Let the market determine what your strawberry pickers should earn--not some backroom deal with your politico pals to cut-out the American workers. “Keep your elbow up!"
  21. No sarcasm: I wish you well with your investment. “Keep your elbow up!"
  22. Just a step further toward fostering a "polite society". From the "an armed society is a polite society" quote. To wit: I carry concealed and assume that everyone around me is, too. Ergo, I am a VERY polite person. “Keep your elbow up!"
  23. Ah, this is where I disagree, and I'm putting my money where my mouth is and buying. And the sooner we do NOT bail them out, the sooner we'll recover. I'm one of those who thinks that the Great Depression would have been the Great Recession but for the intervention of a POTUS and Congress who, for one reason or another, kept getting elected. As long as we're veering so far OT, I'll reiterate. It took several years for (in AZ, for example) properties to appreciate 100% on "easy money" and ZERO underwriting standards (remember "liar loans"?) in just three years. THREE YEARS!!! Is that not insane vis-a-vis incomes? Please, I ask you. How can a hyper-inflated, speculative RE market based on easy credit, lack of lending standards and a gold-rush everybody-can-make-a-million mentality reverse itself in just one year? Answer: it won't. Lawrocket, I know--from reading your posts--you're a sharp guy, but I humbly suggest that someone(s) with a vested interest [e.g. "never ask a barber if you need a haircut"] has been selling you a bill of goods. My previous post about PITI v. rental income is solid. It is a fundamental rule for real estate investment. As you've probably heard you cannot break the law; the law will break you. I hope you're not in too deep with whatever leap of faith you've made, but I'm very . . . VERY dubious about any market bottom withing the next several years. Hope I'm not coming off too bitchy, but it bums me to see peeps so burned in this whole fiasco lately. I know that I often write with a chip on my shoulder and a fair amount of venom at times, but I'm sincere about this real estate meltdown. I hate to see people sucked into it--still. “Keep your elbow up!"
