  1. Hi Bill...going through some old posts...came across this one...I remember the stumbles...have alot of pics...Jerry Kinley and Jay Majia standing several yards apart flying june bugs attached to string...several pics of the manifest board with the team names...one stands out in my mind...uranus and the 7 moons...LOL...pic of me selling the JLS necklaces I made...the flaming toilet paper streak...and of course the nude girls walking the packing table cat walk...Those were fun times..you can take the fun away, but the memories stay!!! Sandy
  2. Glad you enjoyed the story. Yes he was HAIRY-HARRY!!!... I would bring my girls to the DZ, ages 3 and 5 with me all the time. The youngest one asked " is that man a bear mama?" The older one wanted to put braids in his back hair....so funny the things kids say...Wish he were here to tell the story about me and Chris Deli in the bar at Otay....cuz I was out of it and don't remember....In fact he reminded me when I joined this site a few yrs back...perhaps Bill Deli could tell the story cuz he was there too...I remember dancin' then waking up in a motel with one hell of a hangover....those were the days. Sandy
  3. OMG..these pictures reminded me of just how HAIRY.....HARRY was... I remember the time he told me a super funny joke on a hot summer nite at Perris...it was so funny i spit my gum out when i started to laugh...the gum shot out of my mouth right onto his chest and into all that chest hair...then the fun really began..we were on a quest to get the gum out...the harder he tried, the more it got stuck...then he grabbed the wad of gum, let out a yell that almost blew out my ear drums, and he pulled the gum and a huge hunk of hair off his chest...i can still see him...eyes red...laughing/crying hysterically....and oh the bald spot on his chest...wish i had a picture of that...It helped painwise that we had already polished off a case of beer, but the next case was to celebrate the bald spot and our friendship...THIS is my priceless memory of Harry....and then there's the time when Bill and Chris Deli and Bill Hallam and I and Harry went out dancin' and drinkin' in Otay.....let's just say that the band entertained us, but i think Chris and i offered better entertainment WELL...that's another story.Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon! Sandy
  4. You sound like you are describing Terry (Twitchy) Ward. He died at Taft in Spikes Beech. They crashed just after take off. Alot of friends died in that crash, including Spike. I didn't know that Wallace did those things? Maybe? Cuz I don't know everything. It's true. Sandy

  7. I am looking for the whereabouts of Denise Burns sons. A few months before Al Frisby died he told me that Denise had passed away. He said that her sons had come to Perris DZ to let everyone know of her death. They told Al that they lived in the hi desert. I have had her bright orange jumpsuit since 1978 and I would love to give it to her boys. If anyone can tell me anything about their whereabouts please let me know. The youngest is Robbie and the older boys name I can,t remember. SANDY Sandy
  8. OMG----The times that Hallam and I got under Gary's skin! The times my kids got him riled up! Those were the days!!!! Never will forget him. The day he walked onto the DZ with one of his cats and my 4 yr old wanted to pet the kitty. I almost had a heart attack! Scaaaary shit. Great guy, funny guy, I loved to get him going, just to get his reaction. ONE OF A KIND, that's for sure. Save me a seat (Doris), cuz you know we got lots to talk about. Love, Sandy Sandy
  9. Damn! Everytime I come back to this site we lose another great one. It would take me all day to write about Bill and his greatness. So I will just simply say, so long Bill and say hi to Denise and Frisby and Dirty Ed and well you know all the OLD gang from Perris and Elsinore. It's getting pretty crowded up there but I'm sure that you will save a slot for us all as we one by one enter the biggest formation of all. Love to you Mary My best memory is Pygmy-Mau-Mau 1973 style--- what a blast!!!! Love, Sandy Sandy
  10. Hi Harry! I'll drink to that!!! Wait, I already did. Hell, I'll drink to anything in the 70's. BOTTOMS UP! Wrong bottom Harry. Behave yourself. Sandy
  11. Just got a new Dell today. I have been going through withdrawls, bigtime. Been back in CA for a yr. My Mom just passed away from lung cancer 8-17. I was 62 on 9-18. I'm not quite myself yet! Damn, what a difficult yr. Well, I've got a pulse, so I guess that will have to do for now. What do I do now? Surf the net and email OLD friends I guess. GOOD to be back on line. P.S. I live in Hemet. I'll have to drop by Perris when I get myself together. Soon, I hope. Sandy
  12. Wow! Another nice guy finds a home in the sky. The organizer. That's how I remember Steve. Big loads. Big fun. Big loss. Sandy
  13. Dear Patty, What do I say to the daughter of one of the funniest, if not THE funniest guys on the planet? I'm rarely speechless, but this is a tough one! I can only imagine the memories you must have of your Daddy on and off the DZ. I'm sure they are many and will get you through the days ahead. I'm so glad that I called him on his Birthday 2 yrs ago. The conversation was of course priceless. I reminded him of the Dean Barry incident in his van, where Dean threw up and your Dad was trying ever so hard to get the puke off the windshield, (til he realized that the mess was on the inside.) I WILL NEVER FORGET IT!
  14. Of course, I remember him. We called him Sky Baby cuz he was 16 when he started. What a sweetheart. I used to watch Kurt for Dana, (Ma Death) when she lived in Dennis Trepaniers trailer. I lived in Tom & Jody Owens trailer in the Elsinore Ghetto. Dana had just started dating Jim. That was in the late 70's. I saw them in the mid 80's at The Acapulco Bar in Hemet. I remember him being very innovative, a real genius in the sport. He surely added many good ideas to our sport, that are still valued today. A great person, funny, kind with a good heart. In the beginning, I remember him being at Gary Douris's side. He was feeding on the info Gary would give him. I remember telling Gary that the two of them were like Beauty and the Beast. He didn't like my comment, but he laughed anyway. I made a lot of comments, that Douris didn't like. They had a special friendship and the two of them were brains plus, for the sport. Sandy
  15. Nancy Doyle ? I remember her from Elsinore and Perris. Sorry to hear of her passing. The most excitement I ever witnessed on a kiss-pass, was when I pinned Larry Yohn, and laid a big old lip lock on him. Damn, I thought he was gonna pass out. It was also his SCR jump so it was extra special for him. He could hardly wait to buy the case of beer and celebrate. That was a fun night at Perris. But then, all Perris nights were fun. Sandy
  16. Made my first jump out of that Howard @ Skylark Aviation In 1970. It was a water jump, cuz I had some pins in my leg from a car wreck the yr before. Was so jazzed that I wanted to jump again. Douris wouldn't let me cuz he said I was tooooo excited. He said I'd forget to pull if I had a malfunction. Dumb ass. Felt like slapping every freckle off his face. But, that would have taken forever. He emailed me a few yrs ago and said he doesn't have red hair anymore, but at least he has hair. Sandy
  17. Hey JOHN My eyes are fine. You all look great. I'd do ya. I need to read a manual though. I haven't done ANYTHING for a loooooong time. *** They say it's like riding a bike, you never forget. You just climb on and start pumpin'. [ I mean peddlin'] Sandy

Still trying to get to Perris..before I hit the obituary column. ***I guess I have jumped with more Famous people than I thought....Cuz ALL of Air Trash are Celebrities to me. XXXOOO Sandy
