    Fran's brothel

The plane crashed 5-28-77 at a Skydiving Meet. I didn't win 1st place but was given the 30 minute prize by the guy that won. I knew he would win bcuz he was excellent at accuracy. We set it up before the Meet. If he won he'd give it to me just to blow some minds. WOW, the reaction at the awards dinner was priceless. He said he wasn't gonna use the prize and who wanted it. All the hands went up including mine. He glanced around the table a few minutes and said, I give the prize to Sandy. The groans in the room were hysterical. The next morning I went to collect my prize. There was only one girl who would do it. So, I walked in the back with her (my boyfriend in tow). He did his thing and I made him leave. To this day no one but me knows what happened behind that door...LOL...When I got home everyone knew of course. The guys didn't want me near their wives...Priceless reaction. Long time ago but my memory is excellent. Quote Sandy

    Pieces Of Eight

Just a little Trivia regarding Chuck Anderson and Al Krueger...One day in early 70's @ Elsinore, Al came up to manifest and announced that they were gonna have a drawing. Anyone wanting to jump with the SkyGods come on up and put your name in the hat. So, I went up and put my name in the hat. Went pack to packing and all of a sudden I hear my name over the PA...Holy Shit, I won the drawing. Al and 9 others were going up for a 10 man. The only thing Al was very strong about was the fact that him and Chuck would be hooked and I wasn't to come in on them bcuz they had their hooks a certain way. Also not to come in until they had their 10 man...So, we go up and we exit. I followed them out 11th. They got their 10 man and I'm coming in and low and behold in front of me are 2 hooks. I'm remembering what Al said, but if I back out, I'll probably go low and never get in. WTF? I'm not missin' out on this so I go in. 1st I grab Als hook on my right then Chucks hook on my left. Damn, they are really stuck. So, with every ounce of strength I have I pull the hooks apart. I'm only 5' and 105 lbs. but I did it. When Chucks hook broke free it hit me right in the nose, sending blood everywhere. Blood in FF is really cool looking actually. Anyway they are all nodding and I'm smilin' and bleedin', but I'm in an 11 man star with SkyGods. So we break off and I dump. Trying to not bleed on my reserve so I position my head to drip on my altimeter. We land out at the peas and I'm getting congratulations all around. Back at the packing area Purple Patty says hey girl you got blood all over your face. Like I care. So I got bitched at a little only bcuz I could have broken their hooks. Otherwise everything was cool, except for my broken nose. Also got my SCS on that one. Jump # 70ish. I heard there was a Patch for breaking wrists between any 2 of the Pieces of eight. Never got one or a #...I was also on Larry Yohn RIP SCR and gave him his 1st KissPass @ Perris mid 70's. He damn near kissed me into the ground on breakoff...Fun memories... Sandy
  6. Reported from Kansas Dropzone in Ottawa. Brad was found about a mile from the DZ. He hadn't deployed his main and his reserve was almost fully inflated on impact. The bag was 50-75 ft away. He had no AAD. This DZ is still under construction. This was Brads 2nd jump of the day... Sandy
  7. I was informed by Brads daughter on FaceBook tonight that he made a jump at a Kansas DZ today. She said his chute didn't deploy. He had said a few days earlier that he was packing differently. Could be the reason it didn't deploy. Brad was so excited for Sunday bcuz he was going to meet his 2 Grankids for the 1st time ever...I'm so sad for his Daughter and her Kids. Brad had also said a few days ago that he'd rather die doing something he loved than any other way...This sucks... Sandy

The jump was part of the school's Veterans Day celebration. 1 of 2 Next Image 372 2 0 A Text Size BY SARAH BURGE April 25, 2014; 03:38 PM Eike Hohenadl, a well-known Lake Elsinore resident and leader in the local skydiving community, died Friday, April 25, in Arizona after his parachute malfunctioned. He was 72. According to a news release from Skydive Arizona, in Eloy, Arizona, an experienced skydiver’s main parachute was not released on the first jump of the day, about 7:40 a.m., and the skydiver did not open the reserve parachute. He died at the scene. The man’s name was not released but Carol Wakefield, a family friend, confirmed that the skydiver who died was Hohenadl. The release said he was participating in a large formation jump, described by the skydiving facility as an invitational 88-way record attempt, but that the incident was not related to the size of the group. No other skydivers were involved in the accident. There were no problems related to the aircraft, and weather conditions were good at the time of the jump, Skydive Arizona said. Hohenadl was an active skydiver and wingsuit instructor who enjoyed doing skydiving demonstrations at public events. In a 2009 interview with The Press-Enterprise, he described the thrill of wingsuit jumping – which involves suits that use fabric stretched between the limbs to create wing-like surfaces that allow a skydiver to glide and spend more time in the air. “Wingsuiters like to live life a little more than the average Kmart shopper,” he said. “It’s the closest thing to human flight.” He was not jumping in a wingsuit on Friday, according to Jocelyn Bernatchez, a spokeswoman for the skydiving facility. Hohenadl had thousands of jumps under his belt and held numerous U.S. Parachute Association licenses and ratings, including safety and training adviser. Hohenadl had escaped from East Germany as a boy and eventually made his way to the United States. He had described that experience as “way more nerve-wracking than jumping from a plane.” Hohenadl fought in the Vietnam War, stationed aboard a 173-foot minesweeper that patrolled the Mekong Delta and the Gulf of Tonkin. In the 90s, he served as manager of a major disposal project at the Fallbrook Naval Weapons Facility involving Vietnam-era napalm. He retired from the U.S. Navy with the rank of captain after more than 30 years of service... Sandy

The page is open, so anyone can write what they like. You have to click on join group and then type in your name on FB. I will OK it. then you can write what you like about your experiences with the Daddy of the SCR Award. His daughters are keeping me informed of his progress.
