Dropzone Reviews posted by lisamariewillbe

  1. First and foremost, the one part of this dropzone that can not be matched is the vibe. All levels of experience are welcomed and encouraged to be safe and have fun. The staff isnt money hungrey, and if they spend time giving you a ground lesson they dont expect anything from you, nor do they act as if their time is wasted. Esp Perry, who truely is in this sport to bring others to this sport and to help them progress safer.

Aircraft... Twin otter... we all know how awesome those are. Yes there are alot of tandems the best part is , tandems get the first pass and we get a second pass. That last min or two is spent spred out and relaxed. Its not the fastest plane in the world but it is comfortable.

In door packing, clean restrooms, and nice bunkhouse = great facilities. There is a resturant with the chef making some incredible dinners (at least when I have been there)

This really is a great dropzone, where newbies are treated as the future of the sport, not the rejected students that some DZs make one feel like. They always have time to lend a hand in regards to learning. It is a very smoothly operating place and I am pleased to have finally found a DZ in my area to call home....

Last but not least... one of the instructors is a certified massage thearpist... have a hard opening and he is right there helping you work the tension out inbetween loads.

  2. This place has topped any other DZ I have gone to... The outs are there, although they are not needed as that pilot is awesome with spots... The staff is great, very professional and fun all at the same time. HUGE packing area. And a awesome bunk area with 2 bathrooms complete with showers. The grass in the landing area is cut often, so you wont have to worry about what might be hiding. There are 2 ponds , only one to use for swooping from what I understand though. The people are the best thing.... everyone is welcome here, it seems to also be a gathering place of skydiving orphans... there some of the nicest people around in this sport...

  3. Since I am not a first time jumper most of this information will pertain to the sport skydiver. However what I noticed in relation to tandems is that this dz takes EVERYONES safety very serious and EVERYONE has fun.

Professionalism - I didnt have a lisence when I went there, I left with one. It was a group effort, from the DZO's and Matchet's encouraging words for my hop and pop, to my check out dive.

Vibe- I made a bunch of great new friends, everyone is welcomed very quickly. The people are what make this DZ the best. INCREDIBLE

Aircraft- Their Otter is in the shop, but they have a loaner caravan, a bit slow, but great pilots, great spots, and perfect altitude.

Facilities- Air conditioned bunkhouse with 4 twins and a queen size bed that is seperated (couples usually get this bed) 2 indoor showers and some outdoor showers, all clean, outdoor ones are the most fun. Tons of comfy couches to veg between loads on, Safe seperated loading area with a area to dirt dive. Food cooked by the DZO, and must admit it was some of the best damn food Ive ever had.

Services- RWConcepts Grant and Mike are there to help organize some great jumps, regardless of your skill level there is something for everyone when talking to these knowledgable men.

Location- Beautiful patch quilt scenery, and no matter which direction you look at there is a safe out. However the spots are so good I didnt need my plan B's when it came to where I was going to land.

Out of all the places I have jumped this is by far the best all around. From vibes to safety, Delmarva has it all.

  4. I have gone to Titusville for 2 weekends worth of jumping, going again this weekend. There is so much to say and so much to write that this may just turn into an essay on "which DZ is the best damn DZ around"

Manifest- Very professional, experienced and just down right nice people. They have a very smooth operating system and give sports the same great service that they give the tandems and students.

Facilitys- Big open hanger with plenty of room to set up and pack (I dont pack but Im sure that is useful to others...) There is also a 3 bedroom house 1/4 of a mile from the DZ that if you jump, you can stay there for free, this will be the first time I get to use this feature...Im sure it will be great

Instructors- So very experienced, some with skygod jump numbers without the skygod attitude. They are some of the most knowledgeable people I have met in this sport and always willing to lend a hand

Camera Flyers- Best work Ive seen thus far, Videos are done with 15 mins and the flying these people do is awesome. They really are great.

Veiw- I can not fully explain this, it is the most beautiful veiw I have seen , Kennedy Space center, water, neighborhoods, rural, beaches...EVERYTHING you could want to see, is available on this ride up to altitude and while falling.

Outs- As a newbie I spend alot of time looking for these, there is a highschool near by with a open field, a swamp (the gators might get ya though) and a few others, but there is alot of neighborhoods around and I dont actually suggest the swamp as a out. Thank goodness they have awesome spotters, not one out landing for me or my friends yet.

Dont forget your beer fine if this is the first time visiting here, I sure could go for not being the only one who owes lol. Choose this place.

  5. Being a new AFF student traveling to a new DZ I showed up with beer in hand and was greeted by some of the nicest staff out there. We were set up quick with manifest and decieded to just observe the DZ for a bit. I met up with my main instructor Christine and we went through my jump and reviews and so forth and I was very much impressed with not only her knowledge but also her passion for the sport and for helping others achieve their skydive dreams. Due to the winds I canceled my first attempt in the morning, by early afternoon the winds died to about 10 mph and I set up again, I met Nikki who was the secondary instructor and was just as impressed, we reviewed my entire jump again just to make sure I was ready (this was my level 1 AFF, as they do not recongnize tandem progression) I must say I couldnt have been happier with the entire experience, The jump went perfect in my opinion and great in theirs. The staff really makes you feel great and no one got annoyed at my semi whuffo "no sh!^ there I was... " stories, which as a student is great, it helps to encourage the growth and reaches out to turn other whuffos to the light. I highly recommend this DZ. Regardless if your experienced or looking for your first taste of the sky. CHOOSE DELAND
