  1. At the moment I'm just using the internal 8GB memory since for the highest quality (HD:FH) it still stores approx 57 mins of footage - and until I get a 2nd/bigger battery pack the battery is probably going to be the limiting factor anyway (quoted 45-90 mins battery recording depending on use). Will find out anyway how long it lasts in use, when I first go jumping with it this weekend! :-)
  2. Following on from above... Image of the new bracket that I made including dimensions, attached...
  3. My CX105 arrived yesterday and I found the following: - CX105 fits in the FF2 box with plenty of room - Should be enough room for the next size battery up without dremelling (comes with the NP-FH50, but should be able to fit the 70) - However the standard FF2 bracket doesn't elevate the CX105 up high enough so that it lines up with the lens hole (see: CX105_in_FF2_standard_bracket.JPG) Options were: 1) Drill holes for the bracket higher up and also have to lengthen the slot where the camera thumbscrew goes through 2) Make an entirely new bracket I went with #2 and it worked really well - see: CX105_in_FF2_new_bracket.JPG. If anyone wants the dimensions/screw hole placements to save them time making their own, just shout... :-)
  4. Not as far as I'm aware - since there are already several people signed up who are on US and not UK networks. The "Become a Fan" link isn't in the usual place when compared to events and groups - it's right at the top - like in the following picture: http://i33.tinypic.com/15i5aaw.jpg ...if that helps at all? Thanks in advance for trying!
  5. Hi all! The UK university of Warwick's skydiving club are running in a competition to win a £25K budget for a skydiving event. ...think free mobile wind tunnel, free booze, and more! To win, they just need more people (than all the other entries) to "become a fan" here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sam-Lees-Seriously-Social-Party-page/94813925108 They have only 7 days to do this (so you can unjoin after the week is up...). In the UK, university skydiving clubs normally struggle for funding, so I'd really appreciate it if any of you on Facebook could help by just joining that group for 1 week
  6. The more I started looking at Google maps the more I've begun to realise that! Unfortunately I don't really know anyone who jumps around there, so the buses/trains are really my only option. I know I'll have to catch several connections by train - was just wondering which DZ would be marginally easier to get to...? Thanks!
  7. Hi all :-) I'm visiting San Jose (I'm from the UK) for a wedding during the first week of November, and was wondering which nearby DZs people would recommend? The dropzone locator on here came up with the following (in order of increasing distance)... -Adventure Center Skydiving (Hollister) -Bay Area Skydiving (Byron) -Skydive Monterey Bay (Marina) -Parachute Center (Acampo) -SkyDance SkyDiving (Davis) However, I don't know which each of them are like and also how easy they are to get to by public transport. Things I need to consider... 1) I don't drive (yet!) and so will have to catch trains/buses from San Jose to wherever I jump at. 2) I am looking for somewhere that will still be open/active midweek at the start of November. 3) I would like to do either FS load organised jumps, FF coaching (still haven't turned to the dark side hehe) or even wingsuit/CRW. So basically somewhere with lots of experienced jumpers/fun stuff and not just a tandem factory! 4) Bunkhouse would help otherwise I'll end up wasting good beer/jumping money on expensive accommodation nearby. Thanks in advance! Kind regards, Ed

Try watching certain episodes of the TV show Alias - you'll get used to dodgy paraglider-like cgi effects!
  9. The previous post didn't mention the Bodyflight sponsorship (intentionally so) - whereas this one does, as we need more responses asap. Ed
  10. Bodyflight Frenzy, last years Rookie gold medallists, are looking to continue for a second successful year in the AA category. Due to commitments, the outside centre slot has become available. If you would be interested in becoming part of the Bodyflight Project and you have the enthusiasm and commitment needed then please get in touch as soon as possible (PM me). Once we have an idea of numbers we will send out further information. Kind regards, Ed (Frenzy Point)
  11. Agreed - awesome coaching by Steve & John helped us get a point average that wasn't even imaginable at the start of the season. Ed (Bodyflight Frenzy)
  12. Good luck everyone! Really wishing we could have made it...oh well! Ed (Frenzy Point)
