  1. Still sounds a bit sketchy.... be careful - don't want you getting hurt!!! I'd get the local rigger to look at it - especially if it is rental kit??

Congrats on the A though - if only england wasn't so miserable in winter I could get jumping sooner!!

  2. Was just thinking about this - when have you been most scared during your skydiving career? I have two occasions (and I am still at low jump numbers)

    1. Got to jump 7 or 8 AFF and was so scared I didn't want to get on the plane. By then the initial "waaaaaa I'm flying !!!!" had worn off and comprehension of what I was doing was dawning!! I nearly bottled but I asked my JM (4000 jumps ish) if he ever got scared and he said "yep - every time" That made me realise it was ok and actually made the fear the best part of it!

    2. A recurrency jump after 18 months off - was so scared I was nearly physically sick in the plane. The next three were fantastic though.B|
Its a shame I have to go through that first plane ride again in about a month or so though....[:/]

Just interested to hear people's take on this!!

  3. I've done it before when I wrote off my first motorbike - 1 post on the outside of a corner and I'm thinking, mustn't hit the post, mustn't hit the post!!!

.....if I'd looked where I wanted to go rather than where I didn't want to go I might have made it round!!!
    Slightly off topic, sorry!

  5. Have been out of jumping for a couple of years but I am finally getting back into it this year. Am looking to book a week or two in Empuriabrava in the summer and just interested to know what people think. Who has been? Good/bad experiences?

    Thanks for your inputB|

  6. Cheers for that - whats the surface on the aircrew gloves like, grippy?
Are hinton jumping throughout the winter or are they closed now? I need to refresh and am desperate to get "knees in the breeze" again!!

  7. Hey all, I have a friend who has very small hands and is struggling to find some suitable gloves. Does anyone have any ideas and/or names of stockists within the UK? I would be very grateful if anyone can help.

    Cheers

  8. Kitesurfing is the second best sport to do in the world - my ideal lifestyle would be kitesurfing when windy and jumping when not, but it still doesn't match up to 120mph straight down!! I am currently based in Devon in England, where we have had no wind for weeks - makes flying kites a little difficult!!

  9. Hey all, have been off this forum for ages but am badly missing the whole thing - have been teaching kitesurfing for 6 months and don't have a penny to my name! Am sitting here on yet another windless day wishing there was a decent dz within 200 miles and I had won the lottery!!
Anyway rant over, just wanted to say hi, hopefully I'll get back in the air sometime this year/decade/century!!!!!

  10. Hate to say it but I'm in the same boat as you at the moment so I should be listening to my own advice. My take on it is that I agree with zennie about working at it, but when the bad times seem to overwhelm and outnumber the good, then its time to call it a day and pull the shiny one.
    Good luck,
