    Honda S2000

Have to disagree with zep here, i think the Honda VTEC is one of the best engines in the world. It will go all day at low revs and be relaxing to drive but bang it into the higher rev range and put a smile on your face. One of my teammates has an S2000 - its a fantastic car. Oh and i did here that out of all the VTECs built (ie loads) there have been virtually NO warranty claims. Very reliable motor. Never try to eat more than you can lift

  6. Actually - I'm with JohnRich on this one (except for the violent crime blah blah blah comment - but then i think JR likes doing that to rile people up ) The story in question is totally ridiculous (and yes it is recent) and the police have been roundly slated for it all by pretty much everyone. A plane, various cars etc etc, to extract a £60 fine!? How much was the operating costs of all that resource?! But it gets better - the police excuse was "the plane happened to be in the area, so the added cost to its normal routine was about £60" Yeah right and i'm Mother Teresa. What about the court time, and more importantly the time they could have been spending catching real criminals. (On the same day there was a story in MCN i think about someone who saw something being stolen from a neighbours house - flashlights in upstairs windows etc - called the fuzz and they took 40 minutes to get there, by which time the theives had long since scarpered WTF ) Never try to eat more than you can lift
  7. So by the end of 170 jumps you are good enough a camera flyer to be a professional videographer? Didn't realise it was that easy. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  8. Fraser Island and the Whitsundays are great advice, Byron is nice - personally i liked some of the less crowded places. Was watching the sun come up at a place called Nambucca heads and a pod of dolphins swam past about 30 yards out - and when i waded into the water they all swam round me
  9. So they selling well then?? Depends how you look at it i guess!! Never try to eat more than you can lift

    USPA Membership

From memory at the eloy boogie: No you don't need to get it before you go Yu get a temporary membership valid for a month(assuming you are just visiting?) It costs $15. but it might have been $25 Although that was for UK jumpers - Australian licenses may vary for this. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  11. Thanks - i had already been enlightened actually Wasn't there a curry sauce by sharwoods recently that had a name that translated literally into whichever language it was as "Shit"? Mmm come and have some shit curry And you can't forget the vauxhall Nova which went down really well in Spain.... "Doesn't go" Never try to eat more than you can lift
  12. Hey tabacchim, Not really able to help on the camera thing as i don't fly one myself as i have too few jumps, but if you want a decent answer the people good at this kind of thing will probably want to know a load more information about you - how many camera jumps/total jumps you have, what you want it for (4-way, tandem etc), what helmet you have etc etc etc Oh and there are LOADS of threads about this already - try doing a forum search. Edited to add: And probably best to look in the "photography and video" forum first. hope this helps dave Never try to eat more than you can lift
  13. Probably but can't remember But who cares - i'm going snowboarding in 2 weeks Never try to eat more than you can lift

  15. Straight hijacking I'd say. We had best be careful though talking about guns - it'll get moved to SC by a moderator. Oh........... As far as Bond films go (desperately trying to bring it back on line!) anything with Sean Connery is good, and i have to say i reckon Brosnan is by far the best of the recent bonds, but I really liked OHMSS (I know loads of people will disagree). I think it was mainly because of the skiing. Never try to eat more than you can lift
  16. OK - what does "Poes" mean then? (I'm guessing....)? Never try to eat more than you can lift

  19. I don't know about "rules" particularly (and you may well be right) but if you turn up at a dz with an A licence and 27 jumps after a 4 year layoff (like i did!) then i would be VERY surprised if the CCI let you jump without a checkout. I had to do an AFF level (6 or 7, or a combination of the two from memory) with the possibility of a follow up if there was anything i needed to work on. As for the originator of this thread though - should be fine. Never try to eat more than you can lift

  23. Thats a funny video - Cracked me up to see how much Jeffro was laughing as he was destroying a precision "something very small". He still had to cut about 10 lines before it really stopped flying though!!! Never try to eat more than you can lift
  24. Happened to me too Dave - jump 3. Sure it went eventually but the video's kind of interesting.... Never try to eat more than you can lift
  25. Is it common in the US to have places where they won't do a go around? That is the only real reason i can see that should give anyone any impatience in the door. I was second last out on a load at the Holiday boogie, pretty much all solo freeflyers, and the red light came on just before i exited, we got a go around, another 500 feet of altitude and a perfect spot (which was nice because i was demoing a canopy!) whats to get upset about!?
