In the past 15 years there have been 3 days that I didn't have an alcoholic beverage, Those 3 days were the ones spent in hospital after a horseriding accident. Yup, I guess I shouldn't be so lazy and type a bit more. Surely, once you've transferred the file - the only reason the drive is shared in the first place, the right thing would be to remove the sharing option. I run 3 computers on a reasonably secure home network, but I only share 1 folder on each of 2, the 3rd only sharing printers. Whenever Ineed to move someting from other folders, I either pass it through those shared folders OR unplug my external network cable before going through the whole sharing thing. Exactly the same when setting up new pc's at work - set up a pc to pc network witj no external access, transfer what I need & re-secure the network & sharing options before putting them back on the network. I wasn't advocating sharing the c-drive for eternity, but only for Billy to transfer his files so he wouldn't have to keep jumpoing to his old pc when looking for something. On office networks, I concur. Just wanting to transfer files from an old pc to a new one on a home network - not much danger.
