  1. YES i have. my point has nothing to do with the photo or the rip cord. everyone has facts, so they think. something new comes up and all hell breaks lose. just maybe everyone does not know as much as they think. it reminds me when i did something wrong as a child and got away with it. i would sit back and listen to everyone that for sure had it all figured out. example: i would run to my room lock and slam the door. while i laid on the floor in the other room under a bed and watch everyone try to unlock the door to the room that i was not even in, i was 5
  2. I don't know, but the poster's profile says he's from Irvington. The only Irvingtons I could find at Google Maps say this town is either in Alabama, New Jersey, New York, and Kentucky, I think. He lists his home DZ as 'Mosspoint'. Could be the Moss Point home of the Gold Coast jumpers in Mississippi. Isnt Tina Mucklow from Irvington? Obviously that's a Tina Mucklow Rip Chord. wow, finally! as i posted in my very first post! somebody woke up! i think the biggest thing setting everyone back is that they are looking at all the facts. ASSUMING THEY HAVE THEM
  3. i am sure my father was there. he held many many world records in accuracy. it was his thing
  4. Probably true. Back in your Dad's day I bet a DC 3 would have dropped 25 DB Coopers into the Ariel Tavern. Any excuse for a demo. When I started jumping in the late 60s low pull contests really took place. Guys routinely jumped after having a few beers at lunch. AADs were for students and sissies. A whorehouse in NV sponsored a drop in boogie with unique prizes for accuracy. The Paracommander ruled the skies and many thought canopy design had finally peaked. 377 i remember my father telling me about free falling through 500 ft. looking up and shaking the lines. his name was chuck hornsby. he was a knight with my uncle joe saunders in the 60's. he jumped at z hills sometimes. he was actually in the marines when he was testing the piggy back with that french dude or where ever he was from.lol. yall old school guys were fucking nuts. he told me about trying mr bill jumps terminal with rounds. "can not do it", he confirmed. also roping each other together together to make a round is not a good idea either, lol.
  5. i think everyone but you are looking at this as something really cool to be involved in. maybe you should not take this personal and maybe stop and smell a bunch of roses. chill the f76k out . jesus christ you make me nervous. i wish you well and everyone else but please for the love of god let go. at least loosen up a bit. nothing but my wife is that important. ask her and she will tell you. thank you for the concern about my well being. lost my mother 46 years ago. don't need another
  6. if my father was still alive he would laugh at all of us and ask what the big deal is
  7. i know the right guy to get my own round from with a chest pack. i am sure he will be more than happy to jump in also. i actually know a lot of guys that would buy a ticket and line up for it. he may have a sleeve for an NB 8. or he can make one
  8. Im all for this! I have another proposal - jail time assured. When you're done with this jump come to my area and jump to our tailgate outside of Kinnick Stadium. It hasnt ben done since 1962 when a photo journalism prof named Wooley did the same jump and made headlines. The attitude has totally changed since those days - I am sure we would all go to the clinker for a day and God only knows what the fines would be but . . . this place is in need of some creativity. This might just 'hit the spot'. Forty guys at our tailgate would turn purple! It would make headlines - Cooper lands at Kinnick! i will leave my rigger out of this. i will message you privately. the fines are minimal and they will keep the NB8. never see it again. on another note, if you obtain the property owners permission the jump is legal. if not the law will just talk to you all night asking for another cool story, so what
  9. Nahhh. As I age I've become a more cautious jumper. I've made a few "wilderness" jumps from aircraft such as a balloon and an ancient wooden sailplane, but these days I prefer a nice clear familiar DZ where no hard to see power lines or other hazards lay in wait to turn my kids into heirs. I once landed in a K Mart parking lot in Illinois and no Airtwardo, it wasn't a demo jump. It's a long story. I got tagged "Blue Light Special" by the locals. I'll volunteer Snowmann or Amazon. They'd go. I'd watch. Or... the Ariel Tavern could pony up and hire Airtwardo. He'd do it for sure. It's amazing what some USPA Pro rated demo jumpers will do for a few hundred bucks. 377 Forget the money. On the 40th anniversary in Ariel it's about WHO DOES IT FIRST. I'm willing to bet some skydivers are already thinking about it. Consider this: The Elliots believe maybe a thousand people, maybe more, and properly drunk of course, might show this time. And whomever decides to do it, and dressed like Cooper is going to be the hit of the party...guaranteed. He won't be paying for any of the beer he drinks afterward. If he needs a room later, no problem. Am I to believe that NO ONE in Seattle wants to do this? National coverage is almost guaranteed for the tough guy who does the jump. I understand several media venues might show up for this one. If they thought someone would do it, they will show up for sure. Do we not have ONE BRAVE GUY who will pull it off? I will send out the press release for you. Wake up! (Puget Sound jumpers) Be there or be square. Be first, be Cooper. ok 377 get me the NB8 i will let my own rigger pack it and i will jump it when and where you, green, farflung, georger wish. time of day too. don't care if it is at night. i will get my own ride to altitude. who is in? put up or shut up. i will even wear the stupid shoes provided by all of you experts.
  10. that is GREAT brother !!!! I have a lot, but I can't touch that. not even half, lol. be safe
  11. Don't let the lack of a rig hold you back Robert. I have a stock NB8 bailout rig ready to go with a never jumped C9 canopy. No reserve, but you want the Cooper reenactment jump to be authentic, right? It's easy, just jump out of the plane and pull the ripcord. After that there are a few challenges that may arise... but I am sure you will figure them out. I'll be waiting below with your cold beer. 377 i will jump that NB8 into that site. I will not even think twice about it. i will do it on blevis behalf .
  12. I am not a bar owner. Johnny Ringo is a skydiver nickname. My name is Charles Paul Hornsby Jr. What drugs are you on! ? John Peters "Johnny" Ringo (May 3, 1850 – July 13, 1882) was an outlaw Cowboy of the American Old West who was affiliated with Ike Clanton and Frank Stilwell in Cochise County, Arizona Territory during 1881-1882. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Ringo Johnny Ringo an outlaw? No way! But of course everyone in Tombstone in the 1880s could be called an outlaw. Johnny Ringo, the blogger, has never answered my question if he runs the bar with his name in Tombstone. That bar is about 21 miles from my driveway. But it is only 20 miles from here to the O.K. Corral where a famous gunfight took place in the 1880s which has since become a Hollywood fairey tale. Never been there. Wasnt Ringo part of the Clanton gang that the Erps took down, or is that another 4 Monsters Abreast tale? People south of here argue over whether Jessie James even existed ?
  13. Re: Robert M Blevins. I read this everyday and I can tell you that he is one of the few on here that does not appear to come from a trailer park. I just spent the last 30 minutes on here reading "go fuck yourself" and other useless comments. If everyone that posts on this thread would read DROPZONE.COM INCIDENT REPORTS you can see how skydivers who are educated and from trailer parks can have a discussion and share thoughts and facts. I guess our discussions are dealing with real life situations that may save a life. So we don't play such childish games with words. I have not ever read a Blevins post on here that was threatening or displaying fowl language. Good for him ! So since you can get away with it ONLY on this thread I would like to tell Georger and Green to GO F@#K YOURSELF. Nice huh ! CAN'T Wait to see the replies, Let's get down and dirty in the trailer park tonight. Break out all of those GED'S and let's do it ! Let;s all talk about everything but D B Cooper and call each other names all night! My guess is the FBI has asked DZ.com to leave this thread open so they can pick through all of the fighting and maybe get a small detail here and there. DZ.com would have shut this thread down long ago. Have any of you ever heard of agreeing to disagree?
  14. When subjects like the above are mentioned in a Book they become public matter for discussion. When individuals do NOT want certain information made available then they should not talk about it to writers. I said nothing about Jerry or his family that was not public knowledge. WOW, what trailer park are you from? It is obvious that you are here for ANY attention and will respond to anything with any excuse. Please forget that I exist and for the love of god please do me a favor and never reply to anything that I post. You obviously are after a book deal or a buck. I am a published book author and have been for 5 years. i will never write a book on DB Cooper. Interesting to me at best. I really don't care. Again! I welcome a reply from anyone on here but if you can turn a blind eye to my post, that would be great!!!. I have no interest in anything that you have to say.
  15. johnnyringo, your comment is duly noted. Thanks for your reply. I do NOT know why they are all being so hostile toward you. I have no idea who Ringo is but he has not been a regular in the past. Usually they are very acceptable of newbies, but I don't know what they did with their manners lately. Sorry you have had such a bad experience here. skydivers use dropzone.com for a learning tool. we share advice and try and keep it positive. agree to disagree maybe. i like the db cooper forum and we all can learn new things. the name calling and bashing is usually deleted before you can read it. just not what this site is about. i am surprised that the moderators let it go this far. i would like to see everyone sharing facts, new, old, ridiculous, or even just crazy. you can politely call a cop an asshole, to his face. i myself have left the "retard" comment. some of the comments i have seen on here are personal and malicious. this is not how this site is normally used. IT IS A TOOL FOR LEARNING. While DZ is primarily a skydiver's website/Forum, there is no doubt that the media, bloggers, authors and others have made this site infamous for it's DB Cooper threads.I made some comments that were meant to be funny that rubbed some folks the wrong way and i'm man enough to stand up,take responsibility for and apologize to anyone who was offended. I understand that there will be some posters who will continue to greet me and my supporters with insults like the above posts, however I will move on and hopefully some of my detractors will do the same. accepted, :-) hope fully people will stop talking about "who's daughter is doing drugs" these are personal and malicious. did not mean to focus my disappointment all towards you. I hope everyone on here finds what they are looking for in a more respectful manner.
