  2. Sounds a lot like what many of us have been saying & trying to accomplish for quite some time now, and give the insurance company the other choice they need. He basically said that if we dont stop WS tailstrikes, and we do not have some type of standardized training to help do so, they will no longer insure any A/C that allow wingsuiting. Insurance company being the first to act, likely means the FAA isn't far behind. Insurance is the one to pay out on these clams, hence them being first, and having the numbers to support it. This is a solvable problem with proper training and standards, & shows why this is a wingsuit issue, not any other disciplines'. Hope this is enough for the nay-sayers to understand the scope of the issues at hand. I know Id like to be able to still fly my wingsuit, don't you? 3. I disagree Matt. Heres why, plain and simple. A swooper is trying to land on the dz, over a pond, or normal landing point. They cannot land 8 miles away, nor, would they. Nor, are they likely to take out grandma and grandpa in their piper cub on the way to sun n' fun while swooping a cloud. The FAA isnt looking at swooping Matt. They are however, Looking at wingsuiting. End of discussion. :) Great seeing ya in Chi-Town brother! Scotty Z Flock #11; Muff #1909; PFI #15, USPA Lifer Commercial Multi-Inst. 4. Rich~ I personally want to take a moment to thank you for all the time, energy, and concern you have put into this endeavor. I want to also, personally apologize on behalf of all wingsuiters, for the negativity that you have had to deal with not only since you have been looking into wingsuiting, but mainly for the last week or two and what you have had to endure. I can assure you, that a vast majority of us, are not like some of those whom you have had to deal with recently. One thing we all can take from this is if we dont take care of this issue, If people are not responsible and accountable for the students they put out, than many more friends will become subject to injury or worse. If the FAA has to get involved, I assure everyone looking at this post, that we will all be very, very sorry. The most likely response by the FAA to an aircraft accident or incident involving a wingsuit, is to ban them for a time until a study can be performed, then they are likely to be classified as a non-powered glider. if that happens, 200 jumps to take a First Flight Course, will seem like a cakewalk to what will be required, if skydivers are even allowed to fly them again. Rich, I hope your future experiences with the wingsuit community are far more positive, and I am going to do everything I can to help ensure that is the case. For everyone that didnt get to see it, heres a copy of the "Petition list, or at least the part where my name was put on it a few days ago. I can assure you all, I DID NOT SIGN HER PETITION. in the last few hours, the petition has been removed from the web. just FYI. You all must start connecting the dots and seeing reality in our community. Things may not always be as they seem. Hope to fly with you all someplace, sometime soon! 8. Oh, and all you Noobs LEARN TO FLY SMALL SUITS FIRST PLEASE? Just cause you have 100 wingsuit jumps doesn't mean you need the biggest suit you can get your hands on... that's a good way to turn it into what they used to call em, Body bags... its alot more fun to smoke someone in a bigger suit while your in a small one.. and stop hitting the freaking tail of the airplane!!!!!! an extra second on exit isn't going to screw up your GPS data that much that you wont still be glued to the damn screen when you land with all your body parts in tact! Thanks for playing.. :) Back to our regularly scheduled programming/flaming.. Z Flock #11; Muff #1909; PFI #15, USPA Lifer Commercial Multi-Inst. Airplane/Rotory www.flyteskool.ws Aerial Photography
  9. +1 I remember a time where we were all flying body bags... We were all going to die... Virtually everyone at my DZ, Skydive City here in Zhills, Told me I was going to die.. I was dumb... we were all crazy! All This before Flock and Dock 1. Anyone else remember that? I remember a time where you could count the number of wingsuiters on the planet with the amount of suits now hanging in my team room. Now look where we all are. One thing that is for certain, is that change is the only constant in life, as well as our sport. WE ALL have come a long way TOGETHER, and I intend for us all to continue to do so. Dont anybody do anything stupid. If you want to get involved in this new growing discipline, Find someone qualified to learn from... This shit's not easy, Things go badly quickly, so do it the right way. But than again, neither was flying a wingsuit not all that long ago.. Now im back off to reality, ya'll discuss my opinion as much as you'd like. That is all Blues to all Scotty Burns Z Flock #11; Muff #1909; PFI #15, USPA Lifer Commercial Multi-Inst. 13. I jump a zpx pilot 117 for WS just about every jump and am 210 before gear, ws, and cameras... so id say im pretty close to 2.0 on most every jump on it and I love how it performs.. it swoops great and i can put it anywhere i want to, while making it back from a long spot and consistently perfect openings.. Cant say enough great things about my pilot, wouldn't trade it for anything! id say demo a 132 and see how you like it, and go from there~ Scotty Burns Z Flock #11; Muff #1909; PFI #15, USPA Lifer Commercial Multi-Inst. 14. Just wanted to let people know that over the weekend, someone stole all the copper in the power lines at Tony suits, as well as the lines running to the power poles. there's no telling how long this could take to get Power restored to the building, there was another business on the street also hit the same night. And no, you cant just make this stuff up. If you cant get ahold of anyone right away, theres a reason. Thats all the info i have for you, but if your expecting a suit to be finished and shipped this week, its not likely to happen.. Sorry for the crappy news all~ Z Flock #11; Muff #1909; PFI #15, USPA Lifer Commercial Multi-Inst. Airplane/Rotory www.flyteskool.ws Aerial Photography
