  1. I do indeed sell titanium packing tools! Follow this link, or look in the classifieds under miscellaneous. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/detail_page.cgi?ID=56670;d=1 I started making these tools because I was so unimpressed with the existing ones on the market. The handles on my Tugger tools don't bend in normal use because I space the grooves far enough apart that the load is spread across the length of the tool, rather than the ends. Heat treatment of the metal is not a factor, the design of the handle is critical. I also hand tack each finger-trap. Yes, I know that a stitchless trap can work well, but I feel much more confident in sewing them, and this has proven to be very successful. It's all a dream I dreamed one afternoon, long ago.
  2. The stainless steel mega-closer is available again, check my classified ad under Miscellaneous. Feedback from riggers who bought the introductory batch has been extremely positive. It's all a dream I dreamed one afternoon, long ago.
  3. I had to pull that ad temporarily because I sold every one of the all-stainless tools that I made. I've got another batch in process, so they'll be available again very soon. Hopefully you'll see feedback here from the riggers who have bought them. I am convinced that damage to rigs will not be an issue with this tool, because it gives you almost perfect control of the pull force. My tools have already packed numerous rigs during the development process without any excess force problems. It's all a dream I dreamed one afternoon, long ago.
  4. Any new developments in Creswell? Haven't heard anything in months. It's all a dream I dreamed one afternoon, long ago.
  5. Buy a stainless one from me, only $11/each, no minimum order, paypal accepted. Also available in brass for $13, titanium for $21. All prices include shipping to US or Canada. It's all a dream I dreamed one afternoon, long ago.
  6. Somebody needs to write a blue book of used parachute values. It's all a dream I dreamed one afternoon, long ago.
  7. Would've been nice to know about it in advance. How come it wasn't mentioned on the SDT website, or the poopsheet? Oh well, hope you folks had fun! Jon It's all a dream I dreamed one afternoon, long ago.

    Astra

I bought my Astra with a used rig. After several uneventful jumps, its LED stopped blinking while on the plane ride. I returned it to FXC, who repaired it promptly at no charge, even though it was long out of warranty. They also sent me an owner's manual for free. While of course I hope that I never have an AAD fire, I have confidence in the Astra. FXC's customer service, at least in my limited experience, is outstanding. Jon Davidson A-46697
  9. - What is the yearly beer budget for a normal skydiver? There are "normal" skydivers? It's all a dream I dreamed one afternoon, long ago.
  10. Hang in there, it's worth the effort! I spent a short but VERY fun time in the tunnel at Perris, sure wish there was one within a few hundred miles of here.
  11. Thanks to everyone for the kind words, and I did just update my profile. Won't scare you innocent people with a picture just yet, though! Blue skies (or at least big holes in the clouds) to all! Jon
  12. Hi everyone, Just got my A license last week, so I'm ready to start learning something about the sport. Looking forward to soaking up lots of (hopefully) useful information. Jon ... from the wet northwest !
