  1. Seas only have to rise about 10 feet (maybe less) for it to happen to me. Bring on climate change! I never liked my neighbors to the east anyway.
  2. You can't argue with his facts, though. If you replace 30% of the oxygen molecules with carbon dioxide molecules or even CO, fires are less likely to start due to the reduced oxygen in the atmosphere. That is a fact!
  3. Wait, Bill did you accidently solve the naysayers talking point about "What do we do with all these used vehicle batteries that are going to end up in a landfill?"
  4. I'm actually disappointed in Jason, he is usually pretty thorough. Having a truck means you get a double use on it, however it also requires: 1) insurance on the truck $$$ - no additional insurance for a powerwall it is covered by home owners 2) No license/tag needed for powerwall $ 3) Yes you can disconnect the truck from your house, but then the power goes out on your house 4) He never mentioned anything about efficiency. The powerwall is relative efficient when transferring energy from grid (or solar) to battery and vise versa. You will need less powerwalls to get the same energy out of them than the battery in the truck. 5) If you have solar, then your truck is useless for use as it has to be connected to your house for charging. 6) Going to any DC fast charger to charge will cost way more than doing it off solar or even your home grid. (I don't believe Ford has a deal for free charging, but I could be wrong.)
  5. I didn't know that Ford makes a F150 that is a SUV.... But they are making an electric F150 (sometime in the future).
  6. My opinion is that this person is a crook or at the very least an unethical person. Public charging stations are set up to remove some of the range anxiety that people have when changing to a different transportation model. Making them free was just a benefit to help offset the initial cost for the early adopters. I see this behavior no different than someone setting up a transformer next to power lines to harvest that "free" energy. Maybe a better comparison is someone who goes to the public charger to fill their car up and then goes home and attaches their car to the grid in a vehicle-to-grid fashion to make money.
  7. About 2 years ago, I did a cost/benefit comparison about keeping my truck or trading it in on my new car. Even though it is slightly less convenient to rent the truck from Home Depot, It was by far the best financial decision. I think I rented their truck 4 times in the past 2 years totaling about $230. One of those where I had to drive 50 miles away to pick up 4x8 plywood because it was in stock at that store. As a rate of comparison, my insurance/tag/upkeep on the truck I had was approximately $250 every 6 months. The only downside is that I have to get up early whenever I want to rent the truck. I can't be lazy and head to Home Depot at 10 AM expecting to rent the truck that is already gone.
  8. He'll only get prosecuted/convicted when the Rs and Ds fear this
  9. If someone honestly believes that God told them to do it - say kill the gays in that night club. Then of course he should not be prosecuted due to religious beliefs.
  10. That's ridiculous. Just another case of government overreach and tyranny. I'm thinking of starting a GoFundMe page to collect funds to hire a lobbyist* to petition the government to change that. * Not all funds will be used for hiring purpose. Some funds will be used for overhead, maintenance, future legal fees and business trips to tropical islands.
  11. What amazes me is how brainwashed they (the original subject of the thread) can be with regard to religion. Their God can do no harm or anything wrong. The blood of Jesus will save us God is fighting this and fixing his lungs. Not medical science is keeping him alive as best as they can. We are praying that he will be released in days not weeks Oh well, God wanted Jamie to be with him (& not his family) and called him home to heaven He is now an angel
  12. All of this requiring vaccines for employment, getting into ball parks/stores, higher insurance, etc. won't work. There are way too many venues for each one to determine if you are vaccinated. People won't like it and it will slow things down to a crawl. Plus people are going to try to use every excuse to defeat them. There is really only one location where we should have to provide proof of vaccination. That is at the ER or any health center. No vaccine (or proof that you cannot take the vaccine for whatever reason), you don't get treated. Period. If you think you have the constitutional right not to be forced to take the vaccine, if you think you have the religious right not to take the vaccine, if you are just too damn lazy to take the vaccine, you also have the right to deal with the consequences of that decision. Pretty soon the problem will take care of itself. I know I sometimes make snarky remarks on this forum just for fun. But I'm dead serious about this. We need to stop babying or pandering to the stupid. Life isn't fair. If you want to take chances with your health, fine. But realize that sometimes those decisions have outcomes that do not result in a long lifespan.
  13. Maybe someone will come up with an idea to add a RFID microchip to the vaccine so that we can just scan people and see if they are vaccinated. That should work better than a flimsy piece of paper that could be forged.
  14. The reason why we should not enact that type of requirement now is that if we did there would be too many science denying stupid people alive next year. My google search resulted in a stat that has FL having 1,000 deaths/week. If we stopped it now that would lead to an estimated 52,000 more people in this state which should be dead! It is too crowded here anyway and we don't need those type of people voting in our elections. Covid is a good thing and we here are lucky to have a governor who will protect us from tyranny such as mask & vaccine mandates so that the stupid can die. This is a good thing and we should not be playing God by preventing the almighty from calling his faithful home.
  15. That explains it. I knew there had to be a reason that the birds were singing more cheerfully this morning.
  16. I don't live in CA or AZ. It doesn't affect me, so why should I care? So what if the pecan farmers can't grow their crops. Pecans suck anyway. We should all move to eating walnuts. If CA wants more water, there's this giant ocean right off their coast. Plenty of water there for everybody. And who really cares about ski resorts. Skiing sucks. It is cold out when you go. Many people get injured every year. There will still be snow in Canada, if you really must do it. I've never been skiing in my life and don't plan on it in the future. It doesn't affect me, so why should I care? What I can't live without is my car. My lawn mower. A way to get around to my job. All the appliances in my house. If a few people in CA and CO have to change their life slightly so that I don't have to change mine, so be it. It is just weather anyway. I mean really, there wasn't snow in CO when the dinosaurs were around and that was WAY before the industrial revolution. And I'm too lazy to go look up that stat so I will just say it with authority so that you all will believe me.
  17. Or are the words of the profits were written on the studio wall Concert hall And echoes with the sound of salesmen?
  18. No, I think the RFID was injected with the chicken pox vaccine. Covid injects you with a chemical that changes your behavior/perception to passively accept more government control of your life.
  19. Bill you forgot one: Type 5 - "Sure warming is happening and we may or may not be causing it. But it is not happening fast enough, so let's burn more, stupid!" I fall into this category because have you seen the cost of beachfront property? I live about 5 miles from the ocean because this is as close as I could get and still have reasonable housing costs. But with melting glaciers and ocean levels rising, eventually there will be beachfront property at my house. I want beachfront property before I die! I dream of the day where I can look out my front door and see my neighbor's house across the street fall into the ocean. Then and only then will I have beachfront property and not have to move to get it. Additionally, people fall into this category when they live "up north" in states like IA, MI (or maybe even PA) where is so freaking cold. You know up there in the Artic circle. They are pissed off that they can't move to someplace nice. So they want the warm weather to come to them. Increased temperatures are a benefit to them - so bring on global warming.
  20. Since no one else has answered and you claim you are not trollling, I'll answer this question to shut you the F up. In your hypothetical scenario, the situation would be way better than today. There would probably be close to zero power outages. I say close because there would still be some power lines downed by ice. No system is 100% perfect. But in a 100% renewable situation, there will be distributed generation with storage (read this as Li Battery, Salt, Change of State, Potential Energy, etc.) vs. centralized generation. The demand on the current grid will be significantly reduced therefore when there is a problem with the legacy grid, the effect to the population will be reduced to close to zero. Also, the "Midwest" is attached to the National Grid. Therefore what little centralized generation is still left and there will be some, will be able to get their power form other states that are not currently affected by whatever hypothetical storm we decide to create for this hypothetical situation. Your Welcome!
  21. Why is this posted here and not in the There IS a problem with global warming... it stopped in 1998 or Green New Deal... threads? Clearly this is more evidence that AGW is a hoax. I mean it snowed someplace. It was probably cold too. All undisputable facts that nothing has changed.
  22. Ok, this has gone way beyond the dry humor of my original post. But instead of conceding, I'm going to go full-on republican denialism and double down and say: Don't try and confuse me with facts! My mind is made up. I have no time to read stupid articles to become informed on any subject that does not mesh with my preconceived notions. I know I'm right and that is all that matters.
  23. I could be wrong about this (don't think I am, but prove me wrong). You don't need to get an appraisal to sell your house. House prices are based on what someone is willing to buy the house for, not what some appraiser says it is worth. If I'm buying a house it makes no difference what a person says the prosperity is worth. Is it worth "$X.xx" to me that is all that matters.
  24. Because they were incredibly stupid? They will have to pay higher property taxes every year from now on.
  25. That is true, but we are not talking about us average peons. We are talking about the elites who are allowed to get away with things we could only dream of.
