Sounds like you are keeping one foot on the step in your exit position. Move your grip as far as you can out onto the strut. Far enough that you can just hang without having your foot on the step. Then, take your foot off the step and just hang for a bit before you let go. That way, both of your legs are already reacting to the relative wind and you can have them symmetrical. As you release, look up at the wing and do your best banana imitation. To get muscle memory of a good arch, watch some TV. Careful about opening higher. It is common for DZs to have maximum pull heights because there can be multiple planes running at busy events. Opening high could put you under canopy with a different jump run dropping right on top of you. Get a good briefing and follow the rules. I am a newb vidiot and take no offense at the term. I was given the opportunity to jump with a team and learn the ropes. Only made it a 5 way 3 times through an entire season. Mel, I ordered one from that seller. The threaded post of the needle clamp was 4.5mm diameter, where my needle bar needed a 5mm post with a bit longer shaft. Had to send it back. This, but in 3/16". As long as the needle bar has a removable needle clamp, it will work. The thing to look for is that the clamp matches the size and thread pitch of the needle bar.
