  1. It's been 1 month and I got a pleasant surprise yesterday - The cast came off!! I'm in a removable cast and back to putting weight on the foot. I'm a little sore , but within a few days, I should be getting around much better. I can live with the removable cast and moving slow, it was the hard cast and crutches that really suck. So, next question for those who have had a foot injury , I love to walk barefoot. I've been told that it may not be comfortable anymore. Is that true? Can I get a witness?
  2. You guys are really tempting me! Don't be planning a Susa reunion while my foot is broken. I'll just end up getting really plastered...and doing body shots...and the Wharton wave and... When where you thinking? - And I've spent the last few years trying to develope a good girl persona. One boogie and you could through two years of conservative behaviour down the drain and ruin my perfect reputation AGAIN! Did you say when you where thinking of having it? Can you make Josh leave his camera at home? He's been published way too often lately - scares me.
  3. It's not like anything Ive seen in the sport since. I've seen many many students come and go, but so many of the people who came through the old wharton are still in the sport. I wonder Chuck, do you have a good idea of the ratio of students who are still in the sport? I know several people who graduated AFF at SUSA and you can see them any given Sunday. At least 7 regulars on this board. There was definitely a magic about your DZ. Sometimes, it's better to burn out... xoxoxox Paula
  4. "...and they walk around with big butts in baggy shorts saying things like 'Hi Helen'.... "
  5. I thought someone else owned the photo's and Amber really didn't have a say so, or copywrite. How would she get any money?
  6. I feel much better now, but you can keep spanking me if you want... Im going to use the money I save on jump tickets to buy all the new gear I can manage. Ever notice that EVERYONE wants to talk about skydiving when you can't jump? It's probably me, Im just noticing it more
  7. Are you in? I can't connect.
  8. What is it like to not jump for 3 months? 5 years in the sport and this will be my first time to take a 3 month lay off. Since Im very lucky to live in the south and enjoy year around jumping, some of you would consider a 3 month lay off as no more than your winter season. Can someone outline the stages of withdrawl I may go through? It's only been a week so far...
  9. Fractured my heel. Orthopedic told me today that my CT scan shows my heel looking like a cracked egg. 3 months, no weight. I didn't ask if I could jump , didn't seem like the right time. Please send all condolences to Mikie, as I am driving him batty and Im not sure if he can make it through all the pain and suffering I was jumping at an informal demo/fundraiser for a group of vintage aircraft owners. I overshot the landing area and landed on a concrete pad. -Hard I'm really not finished beating myself up yet, so any help you could give me could maybe get it over quicker. ...I feel so stupid! Paula
  10. I second that one! Besides, if every party was like a DZ party, we would be too hung-over to jump on Saturday Welcome!
  11. Searching the web for reference material for a work project. I guess that kinda counts as work. I need to get a life
  12. Dude, so sorry you are hurt. You have to be very very careful with those ankles and feet while you are landing. Many people every year break bones on reasonable landings. I would have reason to think that ankles and feet are a common injury in our sport. Even more so than wrists.... Get well soon my friend!! Paula
  13. ummmm....yeah....right.... That's what they all say - Harmless~
  14. That was a smooth one! Watch out for this guy....
  15. My mamma used to say that the boys only picked on me because they liked me... So that's the only reason ya'll are pickin on Bill , right?
  16. If you don't have pictures or video...it never happened
  17. You might not think so now, but someday you will wish you had those pie pictures. "I Love Me" pictures are not always easy to come by. I think they should pie you again just to get the pictures back.
  18. I Know... Im not old enough ... But I love All Yall ...
  19. Thanks for the link so I can catch up. I sincerely want to hear about achievements. I've been out of the loop for a while and used to read the "jumps this week" thread often. It would really help if I could get the best of 2003 in one thread . Help me out please...
  20. I agree with Hook, any rig is easy if you know the tricks. I think Racers are a little more mental. That is what seperates the mental from the mechanical. My adolecent 2 cents.
  21. .... So far - What stands out for you this year? I made a demo into an airshow on Galveston Island. It was beautiful scenery and felt patriot. So far this year, that was my most interesting jump. And Yours?
  22. Jumping a Demo again this weekend. Not tired of Crowds that think you are the coolest thing since sliced bread...yet. Even though they are hop-n-pops from a 206. Something very cool about landing with the Flag lately...
  23. Finally opened, and just as I thought. Too much info. I was very surprised at the Texas Traffic. Didn't realize so much more traffic went to Dallas, than goes to Houston. Wow...
  24. being a bad girl and trying to encourage Kay to do the same....
