  2. Yeah, post serial numbers and DOMs for the gear. If you don't have them your rigger does. If you had an alti-2 you should post that data here http://www.alti-2.com/customer%20support/stolen.htm I hope it turns up, I'll keep my eye out. 3. I used to work full time. I got laid off last week so now I sit at home full time and look for a new job.
  4. I'm just recovering from a fibula fracture 4 months ago. I did two butt slide landings a month ago, but last week I had surgery to pull the hardware out. For me, the doc thought it was a good idea to take out the thick plate and 6 screws (one long into the tibia/ankle) so it wouldn't bother me in the future. JustTtheTruth, that sounds like more of a question for your doctor. Make sure you are cleared for high-impact activities. I don't know how much skydiving experience you have, but most of us can have a hard landing sometimes. If you need surgery, you should probably wait on the jumping. The sky will be there when your bones are healed.
  5. If it looks like you're low, that's because you are. When the people look like ants, pull. When the ants look like people, pray. Pull when you get scared. Hook it for safety. 6. I would grab my rig, someone to freefly with, and my girlfriend to land the plane and jump out of my 182.

  9. Is it hard to keep a USPA D license? Just send in your money each year and don't cause too much trouble. Also do a jump every 180 days if you want to stay current.
  10. 0 broken bones in 818 skydives. 1 broken fibula in 101 B.A.S.E. jumps.
  11. Have fun. Give them a call and I'm sure they'll answer your questions. Ask around when you get there and you should be able to find someone to jump with. http://www.bayareaskydiving.com/ (925) 634-7575
  12. Get in there and try it out.
  13. Not since I broke my fibula 9/16/07 B.A.S.E. jumping.
  14. Here's one: http://www.parachutecenter.com/ In Acampo near Lodi, CA
  15. For now, recover from busted fibula and walk and fly and jump again.
  16. I did a backwards jump intentionally recently with a Stilletto 120 loaded a tad over 2.0 but I chopped it before landing. It was on a 3 parachute setup. The dbag and PC was in my hands for the plane ride and a friend held onto the PC on exit. I had an extra ground launch harness with a cutaway handle on underneath my standard skydiving rig. I actually didn't decide to do it backwards until I was sitting on the ramp and the plane was taxiing towards us. We did a rush job of switching the risers and rotating the bag. It opened and flew just fine but it was weird having the controls swapped. Another kind of funny part was that there was another group of high pullers in front of us and my camera man was pointing at them, and it took me a minute to realize I was heading towards them (but still a ways off).
  17. Your story sounds a lot like my girlfriends'. She wanted to do some tunnel time before skydiving again after a shoulder dislocation and surgery so we went to Perris. I would think any of the skyventure/Ifly tunnels would work for you. We read on the waiver something about not allowing people with previous shoulder injuries/dislocations so we didn't tell anyone. She has adapted a unique flying style with her shoulders in close to her body that works for her. The instructor kept trying to correct her in the tunnel and pull on her shoulders and that didn't work out so well. She also limited herself to 1 minute sessions as her shoulder would get tired before 2 minutes were up. We probably should have called ahead and asked if it was okay and then told the instructor about it. She did a few tunnel sessions and then got back in the air and her shoulder was finally feeling better in freefall until she broke her tib/fib in an unrelated bad flare/landing accident. 18. I've only done 45 tandems so they're all still memorable. One was an 18 year old 110 lbs. attractive girl who started screaming "oh my god" repeatedly right after opening. The other TI doing the manifesting told me "You owe me one" for assigning me to her. The drogeless one during evaluation. The examiner had us on our backs for a second while he was in a pike position but I was able to right us belly to earth quickly. The 5 practice jumps with experienced friends. The first paid one. The ones that tip well. The ones with very experienced friends lurking. The ones with camera guys who interact well with the student and make it fun for me as well. A young guy with a few friends on board who started to tell me he didn't want to jump on the way up, but still went along with it and was glad he did. The guy who I allowed to follow along with me during the flare and then locked his elbows halfway down. We landed slightly hard but not bad in the peas. I try to only allow the ones who seem like they can handle it (and do well during practice flares) to hold the controls below 1000 feet as this guy did. 19. You shouldn't be giving packing advice to everyone on these forums with that kind of malfunction record. BASE 1224, Senior Parachute Rigger, CPL ASEL IA, AGI, IGI USPA Coach & UPT Tandem Instructor, PRO, Altimaster Field Support Representative
