  1. The good folks at Baldwin, were absolutely friendly and took me under their wing, as if I was one of their own. The late night night Bonfires, commratery, and general fellowship that was displayed was so welcoming. Experienced jumpers took me in and assisted with their insights. Not only did I have a BLAST, I learned a few things and I broke some "bad habits"! I truly was made to feel like part of the community with open arms. This was my best vacation at a DZ! I can not thank them enough! P.S. Always had a hot shower!
  2. YES...come for a visit! Give me advance notice and we get you all set up with overnight arrangments, anything you may need. The more the merrier! This is gonna be the NEW hot spot of the NORTH! "Don't waste the pretty"!
  3. NEW OWNER CREATES NEW DZ! (LAKE SUPERIOR, WI) Mark Androsky former assistant manager of Skydive Dallas, the Las Vegas Parachute Center, Skydive Colorado and 4-way Terminal Ectacy member, is now the new General Manager of the Skydive Superior DZ in Superior, Wisconsin. He and his father(Charlie)recently purchaced a 60 x 70 hanger on the Richard I. Bong airport. They have one c-182 and one c-185 and currently looking at a platus porter for the summer season. It's a state of the art facility, with huge landing area, restrooms, creeper area, training room and jumperlounge. Mark has brought his expertise in student training and 4-way to this DZ. Androsky has over 3000 Tandems, 700 AFF's, 1500 video jumps, 2000 4&8-way dives and hundred of demos. The Remax Demo Team he is on has logged demos into NASCAR annully for over eight years. His energy and organiation skills have recently turned this DZ inside out! If you're in the northern wisconsin area you gotta check this guy and his DZ out! Note: I have seen and experienced this DZ last weekend...it is awesome!

WOW! What a difference this this place has made! A beautiful scenic view to jump over, but also, full facilities with a Hanger, indoor packing, new rental gear, experienced qualified instructors, coaches and packers available. The people, even the whuffo's, are friendly and make everyone feel at home. This group knows how to have a SAFE and FUN time. I am making it my HOME DZ!
  5. Yep...if we are including medical bills, replacing gear and the costs of the jump I am over $50,00... Very bad landing.....LOL or as my Dz Owner says...PFL (Poor F**king Landing) "Don't waste the pretty"!
  6. That's what I thought too....but I guess I was wrong. I was kinda hoping that a simple first aid corse would be required at a "C" or "D" Level..you know after the point of knowing enough to NOT hurt yourself, and be an asset to the new divers. But again, I have been proven wrong.... By the way, the person that pulled my CH. is a "D" holder....I think she just paniced. Oh, well...I don't blame...just wish things had turned out differently. "Don't waste the pretty"!
  7. I too have been laid up for a year with injuries...so my goal is.... "Don't get hurt!" And get back in the saddle..... "Don't waste the pretty"!
  8. Thanks for all your knwoledge and thought-provoking suggestions. I have several to choose from and share with my DZ. My main objective to have a safe jumping enviroment. THANKS A MILLION! KERI "Don't waste the pretty"!
  9. don't you have a "Good Samaritan" Law? See the posting...just curious... "Don't waste the pretty"!
  10. You have a very valid point...and hit the nail on the head....I was distracted and felt alot of pressure. I am still in favor of having my JM fly by me, rather than a two wy radio that only works some of the time. I hope Instructors don't find this to be too much like babysitting, but it does keep my mind on the most important thing....flare....land! Thanks for your perspective! "Don't waste the pretty"!
  11. *** To the best of my knowledge..Instructors, do NOT need to be trained in first aid. I guess this is an avenue I would like to explore. Most sports do require this from their instructors. But on the other hand I truely understand the level of responsibility you are asking from the individually...although, I do believe they would be protected by the "Good Samaritan" Law. I appreciate all of your responses and look forward to sharing with my DZ Owner. Thank you! Blue Skies "Don't waste the pretty"!
  12. If I may respond, with my very limited knowledge on this subject, to a JM flying within 100' of the student.... I am all for it! Being a student, under canopy, I always had better to near perfect landings with a chute to follow in. I had no fear being close to another canopy, on the contrary, I felt safer. I knew what to expect before boarding the plane and our excersise was implemented, and I felt confident through the whole procedure. I am also fortuneate my JM wears a cam on these jumps, so I have the best of both worlds. Ironically, the two jumps, where I was on my own, in the lead, I had bad landings and got hurt. So, I pose this question...Have I become dependent on the "no touch CRW" method? Or just too dependent on my JM lead? Just curious.... "Don't waste the pretty"!
  13. My Bad...I knew he meant meters...about 25'...still a difficult task....my apologies for using an american conversion... It took me 5 out of 9 attempts to hit my mark....but may I say, I had to learn the "accuracy Trick" first, after that I nailed 3 in a row... Thanks to Brian's Book! I am all for a new Canopy Flight program...focusing on "what if's..." would be beneifical. "Don't waste the pretty"!
  14. Yeah Brian...my canopy pilot hero...but c'mon...10'? Honestly I strugggled with my target jumps....barely made it a few times. But here's a "morsel to chew on"...my JM and I will be doing canopy work together...side by side...to assist in my accuracy and develop an "air awarness" under canopy, to line up a good landing pattern....we feel where most students fail at our DZ is the mis reading of what 1,000' really looks like...500'...200'...etc. It maybe our Dz is kinda buried among water hazards, but we students, always seem to over shoot... endangering us to even more obstalces... I love your books and LIVE by your words, because of your words...thanks for sharing your sport with us newbies! "Don't waste the pretty"!
  15. Actually, Valentines' Day falls on the third week, but the second Monday of the month...my birthday...and for this I am a hopeless romantice with full strength beliefs in LOVE...in or out of... "Don't waste the pretty"!
