  1. It's not the jumpers and their families that I would be mostly concerned about. Subrugation is the process of suing a third party to recoupe expenses incurred by the insurance company when they can prove negligence or any other form of responsibility. Insurance companies employ teams of very talented lawyers whose sole purpose is to recover this money. You may not want them to sue your DZO buddy but they aren't going to care to much. If he has any equity they're going to take it! 2. WHAT!!?!?! Totally unnecessary risk, I'll never jump with that guy!! "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."
  3. Hope you guys are having a good time. I'm going to try to stop out some time tomorrow. "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."
  4. Scratch the Grand Canyon! Spend a week in Sedona, the Canyon is a nice day trip from there and Sedona is a completely different kind of amazing. Thats my two cents. "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."
  5. If you were to import the top head up flyers from around the country they probably wouldn't have much difficulty building a 20 way sit. (but you also wouldn't be offering an open invitation on DZ.com) Then the rest of us would all have to sit at home and wish we were that good. Amys events aren't geared for the best of the best. Amys events are geared towards skilled jumpers who (1) want to have fun and (2) want to be challenged. This event in particular is an excellent opportunity for your average weekend skydiver to do all of the above along with getting their picture in the magazines and being able to claim they've been on a world record. :) I think its a lot more about the fun and the challenge than the World Record part. 6. I have to apologize for not remembering the team names of all these guys that I know are planning on coming. This is going to be a great turnout. I hope everybody makes it down. Is there anyone else out there bringing a team down or looking for a pickup team? "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."
  7. Nope! But we'll be there anyway. I hope its as much fun as last year was. "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."
  8. Wow. That is very interesting. Eric, if Upright and Headdown are defined and those positions do remain how many of these formations really are pervertable in your opinion? Docking from the front on the I, sitflyer "inside" the formation on the K, arms crossed on the L are what comes to mind for me from the randoms. Those don't irk me to much, but am I comprhending this correctly? I would be incredibly dissapointed to see some of the blocks get buchered. Somebody else mentioned the 2 and questioned whether or not you could do that with the "claw" portion of the formation facing the other peice. That would ruin the block for sure but I'm not really seeing how that could be interpreted as what is shown to be performed. I'm still kinda new to the RW thing and I think I may not be understanding some of this. When you say that we need to have "defined" slots are you saying that each block/random would all be slot specific based on where you were at exit? No mirrors, B slots and we would need to reset every block? Or is this issue confined strickly to the location and heading of specific slots like those I mentioned in the randoms above? Joe. 9. If you need first class service, buy two jump tickets and don't let anyone sit next to you. Fair enough. "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."
  10. I've never really cared for Freeflying to be referred to as the "Dark Side". In my experience it has always been non freeflyers assigning the term to it. "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."
  11. I like my Blackberry. I've very tech incompetent and have found the Blackberry to be very user friendly. At least for the stuff I use it for. Two thumbs up from me. "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."
  12. I would be pretty suprised to find a DZ that is only charging $20 to altitude today. I think $22 is probably about the cheapest around with 24 or 25 quickly becoming the average. Eloy has been at $25 to 13.5K for a few months now. "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."
  13. I can't believe you used the word kill on the internet!!! You deserve to DIE!! I hope you go to prison and somebody rapes your face!! You are sick and disgusting. What the hell is wrong with you!!!! If we were standing around a real bonfire talking about this subject and somebody said "Oh, I'd kill'em" The comment would be accepted as figurative. I'd probably laugh. I don't think Mick is threatening to kill his girlfriend. Lighten up people. I posted a great story one time about the cops looking for my dead body after a whuffo mistook my hook turn for a fataility. I was home safe while the cops were launching a search party. It was a misunderstanding that turned into a great story but listening to all the blathering idiots on this site you would think that we should have to file a press release every time we make a jump. I'm suppose to call the DZ, the club president, the nearest airport and the police every time I land after a demo jump and let them all know I'm OK? God I hate the Bonfire. Why do I keep coming in here. "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."
  14. You have definitely done a lot. I wouldn't have any idea where to start with a task like that ahead of me but I'm more than happy to reap the benifits of your hard work. What else do you have in the bag as far as future formations? What steps would need to be taken to make an addition to the dive pool? How much do you see the dive pool growing over the next few years? Sorry for the quiz bowl. Joe "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."
  15. Hey Eric, thanks for the clarification on that. I'm more curious about the skydiver being in front of the formation. Is it simply right hand on right foot and the location of the docking skydiver isn't going to matter? If so, on the "L" as the jumper backing in would I be able to simply cross my hands in front of me staying in the round configuration and have that point count? Looking forward to seeing you in October. Blue ones, Joe "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."
