  1. Is that a Volturius I see?
  2. Nice. Reminds me of Zun's huge backflying suit.
  3. Meters or feet? I break 100s in a PF track suit almost every time from 4,000m (13,000'+), deploying at 1,200m (~4,000'). 60s from 4,000 feet would be very impressive.
  4. Wow! I love that he flies up above the glider to get to the other side after docking it. Sick!

Second that. Towing is unnecessarily dangerous, through and through. There are ways to pull off towing, but a BASE canopy and a rope are a really bad start.
  6. I can see why you would say that by looking at the front views of both suits. I can assure you that the Ghost is a completely new platform. You will understand this when you see the suit in the flesh and will have no doubts once you've flown one. J I guess I should have also mentioned that I'm positive this is my next suit. Great work, guys.
  7. I think separating the "online memorial" from the details is the best way to go. It'd make far more sense to use the data of each incident anonymously to present statistics on how people go in (with links to articles on how to prevent each incident). Then maybe have a have memorial page that honors the deceased by talking about (cliché, i know) how they lived, not how they died. To be honest, I rarely look at the list because I see my buddies' faces planted right next to their fatal mistake, with little to no mention on how much they rocked up until that split second that the shit hit the fan. It's no way to recognize or honor the dead. And the numbers thing is really morbid... like a collection.
  8. March 1, eh? ;P It looks more like a Phacro with big wings, to me.
  9. This is definitely the coolest thing to be done at that statue by a parachutist. By far. Ever.
  10. Fuck. Super nice guy that lived life beyond the fullest. A truly inspirational, talented, and very underrated jumper. He'll be missed.

  12. I'd say most people do what they do for the love of it. Look around at your drop zone or at larger BASE events... how many people are really fitting that x-treme stereotype? None to few. But the few in this world that are in it impress whuffos are generally the ones that get heard and seen the most, because they make every effort to make themselves known. Hence dayblaze videos on Youtube, etc. Televangelists embarrass Christians, Tiesto embarrasses DJs, the list goes on... There's always someone involved in every niche of society for the wrong reasons that ends up being its representative to the rest of the world. It's very ironic.
  13. I wouldn't limit this to risk activities at all. I guarantee you'll find the same feuds on knitting message boards. You're always going to be best friends with like-minded individuals. Having a common interest is far from a guarantee of common ideas. It can be difficult to accept, at first, that someone who is doing the same thing as you might be doing it for different reasons and have a completely different personality. But that's just how it goes. So true. I've found this to be the case in all facets of society (and therefore society in general). How many times have you thought, "It's embarrassing to tell people that I (insert any activity here) because of the loudmouths that ruin its image."? There's nowhere to run. The next sports grass isn't greener. Just do what you do for the experience itself and avoid anyone and anything that takes the enjoyment out of it. I do what I do purely for the personal experience. Some people are driven by competition. Some by fame. None of us can truly say which reason is "right", and we probably shouldn't care. Point is, in anything I do, I've come to accept that there will always be different motives from different individuals -- I'll gravitate towards those who think like me while respecting those who don't. It makes whatever I love to do that much better.
  14. Full flight at good glide ratio, quick pull very low... I'd call it miscalculational, not "not intentional". I believe he had a hard pull.
  15. Impossible. Sounds like an issue with the container or the spring wasn't properly loaded.

Writing the location's name out in your post really isn't helping, regardless of how many people who know what it is (you'd be surprised at how many don't). It's good that you're OK, but c'mon... I've jumped the world over and never had any problem arranging a jump with locals with more than 24 hours notice (sometimes much less).
  18. Only on the ground (or flown incorrectly).
  19. Same. I like this way more than a pipe. Got my thumb in there once (on a BASE jump, to boot).
  20. I didn't read this post, but I think it sucks. I kid! I kid! I'll do the opposite -- I never jumped a Neos, and I always buy PD, but I've been really impressed with what people have been doing with theirs. It screams.
  21. I've found drastically different characteristics between palms up and palms down -- mostly likely due to where it puts my shouders, chest etc. Palms up fall rate is about 20% faster than down, but the glide is significantly better. In the BASE environment, it will depend whether you want a longer delay on a very vertical object, or have some obstacles to clear. Either way should yield a decent distance.
  22. You should try to do better on your next jump. If you planed out high on this one, then just accept that you planed out high on this one, and land straight in.

I start by aligning the bottom of the tailpocket with the bottom of the label. It should makes sense from there. I also run the pullup cord through the floor plate's closing loop first and hanging it out the top right of the rig so you don't have to fish for it later.
  24. I went with skill. I loves me a skilled wingsuit. Like a wingsuit that's really good at pool that I can take to poolhalls and shark people out of beers and cash. 'Cause, man... who wouldn't think they could beat a suit at pool? I asked you a question.
