  1. Marion - TOTALLY missed your sig line on one of your posts on p. 2 of this thread ... but just caught it, and am so touched and honored by reading that in a public forum that I'm practically in tears. SOO looking forward to sharing friendship, conversation, some beer, everclear, Gray Goose, or even just a simple smootch if I get lucky at a bonfire with you sometime soon. Love you, girl. (To any men who are reading this post; don't even try to understand. It's a girl thing.) We DO need to talk/compare notes sometime in the next week & 1/2 though. Hope to see you on FFF. p.s. Ellis, I love you too.
  2. Frenchy, you'd better come! I miss you already.
  3. YES - just was talking with Ellis about this tonight. The deal is that we have someone spotting the $ to make $500. (YES!!!) Then we'll ask for donations at the boogie, to hopefully reimburse the anonymous spotter. I'm still taking donations - anyone who can give, please come see me.
  4. I'm SO lovin' this thread - let's make this a CSS Thanksgiving to remember! John and I are way looking forward to seeing the excellent Gananoque group again. Hopefully a McCarthy or 2 will show up? If you're from Tom's DZ and it's your first time at CSS, please stop in the rigging loft and say "hi." I've gotten a PM that seemed to indicate there may be more Hispas here than I originally counted on - right on!! This hermanita loves you guys. It will be great to see Peter G again ... hopefully Akos and Peter B will get some free time away from the tandem/video rotation to come play with the rest of you freaks ... And Jim Smith coming back to organize RW again ... yeeeaaahhhhh. (For those CSSers who don't know- Jim is responsible for the 4-way exit mural on the packing room wall - done during some weather at an Easter boogie some years ago.) Lyman loves Jim's organized RW jumps. THANKS to the everyone in the FFF group for the excellent vibe we've had at CSS lately. If you're reading this, and you haven't been to CSS lately (or at all) and are wondering where to spend Thanksgiving .... COME. I guarantee there'll be awesome planes, awesome skydives and awesome people; most probably a kickass band Sat. nite as well. As for the weather - you're on your own. (It's been mid 50s to mid 60s during the day ... mostly sunny but with hit-or-miss rain these past few days.) Best, Dawn
  5. My rigging loft contact info is available here (bottom of the page): http://www.downwindnc.com I'll see if I can get Asaf's cell # for you. You Hispas rock - please come back! -Dawn Edited to add: "I love you Ellis and Marion!!!" so I don't get in trouble.
  6. "Popular demand???" Whatever! As I recall, no one would touch the stuff. Oh .... wait. Wasn't that the innocent-looking bottle that led to a certain degree of nudity + depravity, plus rigger-on-rigger action? ... I guess I stand corrected. Bring it on. In my arsenal, I still have a whole 5th of fine French vodka from a save getting icy in my freezer. And I happen to know that Ellis is quite fond of it ... let's make this a birthday he'll never forget (or one he'll never remember?? - either way it's all good.) - Dawn #1 p.s. Joe - Your canopy is finally back home!! Came in today - looks great.
  7. I've been anxious to get my hands on your gorgeous baby for some time. Don't worry, they're competent hands. New rule - no freaks allowed in the loft while David's rig is in there! (Jumpsuits are another matter entirely.) IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME!!!
  8. Hey Mike - You forgot to mention: we have now raised $270.00 towards having {whatever Joe's band is called} play at the Thanksgiving boogie - woo hoo! Well over halfway there!
  9. Sweetie, of course I love you; don't get all sensitive on me. I just love Marion and Elis in a more special way. Besides, I'm all about a marriage of convenience ... so whadda you say? (Greg - if you're reading this - I hope I am NEVER in Vegas at the same time as you and Nick.) Eric - I'm really excited to see the results of your "Peter's swoop" project. The name of the technique escapes me but I know what you're talking about, and it sounds awesome. It also sounds like a lot of work. Give us a showing sometime! Mike W - I'm not sure what's going on this weekend, only that we'll have a CASA. Sounds like a lot of the regular RW people will be gone for various events ... so you'll probably see the same people you've seen for the past 2 weekends. (Are you sick of us yet?) But - I'm hoping we'll see some people who were down at the tunnel last weekend --- are you reading this, Dawn #2? I miss you!
  10. Hey girl - sorry about the vandalism. Maybe the attached will cheer you up and remind you of happier times? I just got chastised via e-mail, so I have to say this publicly: Yo, Elis! Marion! I LOVE YOU BOTH! There - said it, and meant it. Have a good week; hope to see you soon.
  11. NO, we don't pie for birthdays!! For a long time, CSS was pretty much pie-free. (Thanks for nothing, freaks.) Hey Joe --- didn't you promise David 2 weeks ago that you'd start a new thread? So he wouldn't have to page down and everything? (Hint - start at CSS Thanksgiving thread. I'm sure we'll all jump on it.) Jason - we called Eric Sat. night about 11, and he was "at a hotel, watching a movie" so his story checks out. As for Szabi; you guys obviously don't work with him. He narrowly avoids arrest AT LEAST once a month due to traffic stuff. His bridge day story was entertaining (especially the part about the polite cop "notifying" him of the soon-to-be-issued warrant that no one was available to sign) but for him this is just a way of life ... Kwoo, the bulk of Gypsy Moths is a sappy boring soap-opera love triangle thing; you're not missing anything. BUT the DVD has an awesome "making of" feature with all the stunts, which are not only incredible for their time but still incredible to watch today. Very different from demos we see now. On the other hand you guys HAVE to see the skydiving part of Fandango if you haven't yet. I'll try to get my hands on a VHS. Mike - thanks for the pig and for good times Sat. night. And THANKS for your kindness when I was having a hard day on Sun. We have $90 so far for the S&SS's or The Kwononites, or whatever we're calling Joe's band this week. If everyone reading this would just fork over $20, we'd be there!!! C'mon, people ...
  12. Guess who? Hint: Think of a conversation on a day with no jumping due to plane snafus, think Hungarian, then think of the original anti-establishment CSS numbering scheme. (Yes BB, this would be before that WHUFFO started the whole BK thing. If anyone wants the true BK origin let me know via PM or e-mail. I won't recount the sad, sordid story on a public forum.) Joe, I have some bad news. Yep, our S & the SS's Thanksgiving fund is still at $23, just like it was 2 weeks ago. So, if your band gets any other offers for work on the Sat after Thanksgiving ... you might wanna jump on it. Or else someone needs to get the word out .... or maybe contribute some actual greenbacks?? I'm sure the people on this thread really love you. (I know I do ... though not as much as I love E****. You're welcome for the free rigging.) I'm sure everyone loves your music, and I know some CSSers support you in Chapel Hill. I plan to do the same once winter gets here and I'm still awake at 11 p.m. BUT ... no one's handing over any cash, man. On a more positive note, I'll bring accompanying food for Mike's 100th pig-pickin bash Sat. Hope to see all of you who aren't at Bridge Day there! Madalyn - the invitation to your chicken dinner extravaganza was warmly appreciated. I hope you guys had a great time. (Love you, girl ... and love the new magenta in your hair! Glad your congestion cleared up and thanks for sharing your remedy.) As long as you guys have been watching skydiving movies, you REALLY need to get your hands on Gypsy Moths and/or Fandango for WAY HUGE laughs. I'll try to get them via Netflix if anyone's interested. p.s. Dawn #2 - miss + love you!! Having a good week? ---- PMS-free-----
