  1. That would kick ass ... we'll see. Heard last week from Elis that Nancy from Ouragan Suits plans to come up again. How cool is that? I'm hoping she'll have time to play with beads + hair again. Bolas - we'll miss you at Easter. Do try to come up sometime this spring, and we'll do that "missing man" power circle. I've got Grey Goose L'Orange on standby in my freezer
  2. He was killed early this morning in a car accident. PM me if you want. -Dawn
  3. Joe - Steve was going to come with me, Kelly & many others to your show this Thurs. I'm sorry he'll miss it ... if there ever lived a man who could make a good time even more fun, it was Steve Kemp. There were definitely tears at CSS today, but there was also a lot of laughter in the loft. C'mon - how can anyone think of Scuba and not laugh at least a little? But god I'll miss you - "How're ya doing, man?" "My life rocks." "Yeah? Mine rocks too!" "Both of our lives rock. That kicks ass." "I love you, man!!!" I love you too, my friend. Thanks for everyone's calls & e-mails today from near & far. Steve sure had a huge family. -Dawn
  4. I'm SO proud! *sob* Joey won't be out for FFF, but will be out on Sunday. Unfortunately, it's supposed to rain Sunday. On a brighter note, he bought a brand new Cypres 2 to put in his rig today ... that speaks of some major commitment, wouldn't you say? According to Steve, he's really up for this FF coaching and we should see a lot more of him in the future. Eric - Spongebob went skydiving last Sunday! Nick apparently was bored, so he used one of our machines to build him a little harness, complete with leg straps, that slides onto a chest strap. Evidently they both had lots of fun . He didn't even lose any of his crab cakes, or whatever you call them. I'd attach a pic, but my Inet connection is just too slow. I hope to see you all this weekend - chili, plus first bonfire of the season you know. Hispas - you're in my thoughts. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon. -Dawn #1
  5. HAVE FUN, and tell me all about it when you get back. Is your outfit done yet? I will miss you guys! It was so fun having everyone out last Sunday. I'm still laughing everytime I think about David and the "de-worming liquid." (I guess you'd use that specifically for anal sex? YUCKY!!! ) At this point I'd like to publicly congratulate Ellis for being king, several times over. In addition, of course, for being President of this whorehouse. I currently have some Hispa rigs in the loft, and it sounds like there might be a little Hispa invasion at CSS sometime in February. Any hermanos out there who can fill us in? Thanks to everyone who was nice to my stinky dog last weekend. -Dawn #1
  6. Hey everybody! The winds are like 7 gusting to 19 so this is a group post from Eric, Dawn #1 and me. Floaty Mike- Sorry about the calculus thing. I don't think I'll be out here tomorrow afternoon since I've been sitting around here all afternoon today. See you Saturday? -Marion Yeah, she's been sitting around here all afternoon bugging me!! Just kidding, it is so awesome to have you back!!! Awww. Thanks, Dawn. Hey, can I tell everyone about your special new secret password? Because I think it really ROCKS!! Quite a "feather in my cap", as it were. ok Right on! OK, it's ... oh, I just can't. Maybe later tonight after I've had a glass of wine or 2, and if heather can get my PC fixed. Hey everybody, Eric here! Note on monitor reads: "Scotty- No tandems until USDA recieves renewal! exp 10-31-04" Just thought that i'd share that with you... that is all.
  7. Nothing wrong, you know I love you, girl. I've just always felt more at home with freeflyers, and we have such a great group at CSS right now ... don't tell me you haven't felt the love yourself! Ellis - thanks. Miss you + love you & hope to see you this weekend. LOVE seeing you work on those ratings!
  8. OH! Speaking (kinda) of music, my groupie loyalties have been divided. We have an awesome new jumper who is a really, really good concert pianist and composer. Anyone at all into classical should check him out here: http://www.gregmccallum.com I taught him to pack on Wednesday, and he should be getting his "A" lic this weekend (and also bringing me some CDs.) I'm counting on my FFF people to try to "influence" him early in his jumping career, hint hint. Really cool guy.
  9. Yes, please, or I'll keep clamoring for it for three MORE months. Hey Joe - did your near-kingdom experience involve who I think? If so, yes!!! Rock on!

  11. S & A would be fun! We've got all those old Parachutists from the 70s and 80s - we could probably glean you some tips. I'd personally love to see you going for one of those headdown freefall speed records. We could advance your sewing/rigging skills by making you a special skintight neoprene suit (orange of course: Marion could help you decorate it) and with your wiry body and those long toes of yours ... ... hey, I might be on to something! Either way you'll need a new suit so it's all good ... what's the count up to now - 8??
  12. Did U have fun?? Who cares??? Louise, Kelly and I certainly did ... (Just kidding Justin! It was great to see you again, man! You can use our canopy bar anytime ...)
  13. I AM COMING, can you believe it!?! Kwonzariggermegapalooza!!!!!! I'm bringing Kelly and Steve with me too, but unfortunately not Lyman as 11 pm is way past his bedtime. I hope you do "Chess," and I hope you put it on your new CD as well. Dug that tune; it really touched me. Oh, and I want at least three t-shirts OK, I've come to the part of my post where it's time to say, "I love you Marion and Ellis!"
  14. Oops! Hey, at least you never gave up. Gotta love your perserverance ...
  15. Actually there was no pic attached ... but glad to see you posting, & huge congrats on the Goodin 4-stack!!
  16. Of course I love you Cynthia, but it's more of a Pink Mafia Sisterly love. You've met Dawn #1, so I'm sure you understand.
  17. Just got the sad news from Lyman, as well. Will be sending out a short newsletter to downwindnc people who don't follow these forums. We knew Biff/Bubba was in bad shape for some time now .. but what a great past few months he had. As the weather got colder, people stepped up. During October/November, that dog slept in: the airplane hangar (usually), the packing area several times (don't tell Nancy!), the bunkhouse, and Akos's trailer (courtesy of Asaf.) He went home with Rob on Saturday night, for good. I'm very proud to say that the CSS family raised over $500 for this stinky dog. Most of the money has gone towards food and vet bills. There's still some left over - I need to talk to Rob about how he wants to remember Bubba ... after that, I imagine we'll give the rest to the ASPCA. THANKS to everyone who gave $ - your generosity was amazing! Thanks even more to everyone who gave this guy some much-needed affection. Attached photo is by Janice Turner. Best, Dawn
  18. NOT fair, I love making out with you. .... and I don't think Joe has ever even seen us kiss, so it's kind of an empty threat. I'm sure that if we BOTH hold him down (no matter how much he'd enjoy that,) we could inflict enough pain to teach the boy a lesson ... maybe together we can beat some sense into that thick head of his? Joe, consider yourself warned ... be careful. Seriously.
  19. Famous last words. Please behave, or I'll have to kick your ass myself! (I'm sure Marion did a good job, but I'm stronger than I look.) BE CAREFUL - we love you. -Dawn
  20. Cynthia - great to meet you, too! Sad that I didn't get to spend any time with you after hours ... I have to budget my party time during boogies as I'm busy working, and this time it was all for Sat and BP & the RRs. Anyway it kicked ass to have you at CSS and to see you and David together! (Just watch him with your gear, girlfriend. Was he trying to see how you'd respond to a brake fire on opening, maybe?) Please come back soon. Joe, I'm still speechless - you rocked my world. You'll definitely see me in Chapel Hill soon. Dedicate me another song, and get more priority rigging service ... knowing you, you'll need it. Is your rig possessed or what? Love you, man. Sending 'sense' your way ... Hispa hermanos, it was great to have you back, canopy-swapping and all ... please know that John and I are always here for your rigging needs (some of you will be hearing from us soon.) Juan - thanks for taking some of my load off on Sunday night. Frenchy, you're the best! Finally - Bolas? Eric? Glad to share the love/vibes w/you & the others at our little "be-in" (meditation? - whatever it was) in the team room Sat night. A special time with special people. "Oh my god - it's almost 3 a.m.!" Let's please try not to mess with the space/time continuum anymore, kids. Marion & Ellis, I really love you. Dawn #1 Hispa #57
  21. Bolas, do I know you? Are you the guy who had me fix a rip in your Birdman suit last weekend? If so, you can either admire my powers of deduction, or forgive me for being REALLY dense. If not; no harm, no foul. Either way I'm Dawn, the rigger. Introduce yourself the next time you're out! Eric - I'll change my sig line since I misquoted you, but I did misquote you on purpose. You see, my DZ boy toy crushes sometimes pale in comparison to my non-DZ boy toy crushes. Not to mention my girl toy crushes ....
  22. Hey Mike - those 2 FJ students you brought out today were real cuties. Don't you think that in fairness, you should have alerted all the guys? Hope they had fun! Now onto the real order of business .... congratulations on your new rig!!!!! Today Mike bought one of the Downwind rigs. It is a really sweet Mirage G3, black with royal blue binding/accents. VERY sharp. It fits him like a glove. It has a 2-year old Cypres and a Spectre 170 main ... which he already knows how to pack! Most importantly, it is totally freefly-friendly. I need all of you Mirage owners to chime in here and tell Mike what a good decision he made. And Mike - how about posting a pic? And are you going to sleep with it in your bed tonight? I think it's so totally adorable when people do that with their first rigs ...
  23. Man I hope the weather's good Friday ... that's the day I have planned to play in the sky with my boys. CASA, tandem with Lyman, with Todd, Biro and Akos along all with video ... can you say "drogueless?" That makes a lot of sense - I'm there. Joe: sorry; didn't mean to make you feel bad. I haven't been following this thread like I should. I'm glad you're getting your life sorted out and look forward to seeing more of you. I really, really love you man!! Dawn #2, great job on spelling "hajnalka." I do need to get the word Akos used when he affectionately called me a whore; that would be an even better user name, don't you think? Ellis - as ever ... well, you know. "I don't have to be drunk to make out with Dawn." -Marion
  24. Mike - I really missed you this past weekend. You're the only person who understands me when I'm in pain ... does that come from being married so many times? (KIDDING - you know I love you.) About Joe's band - we have all $500 in cash. Thanks to an anonymous benefactor, we're good to go on Sat nite with BP and the RRs. Joe has been asking when they should start ... I've learned the usual time in Chapel Hill is 11 pm. According to Joe this is the best time to "be out & be seen." Anyone else noticed that Joe has NOT been jumping hard at CSS, or hanging out with us on the weekends ... has not gone to dinner, or ordered pizza in, or hung around the bonfire? We're TIRED, man! Of course I can only speak from personal experience, rigging all day ... but over the past few weekends there's been a lot of in-pizza-ordering, laying low around the DZ. And lots of happythings later. Anyway, Joe, if you're reading this, I suggest you start to play at 8 p.m. Still early, but with time for people to shower or change if needed after the sunset load. "Marion is very kissable." --Dawn #1
