  1. I just purchased an HC-1, and I'm now shopping for some high-quality glass for the front of it. In particular, I'm looking for a .42 with little or no vignetting. I've checked Century, and they have .3's and .5's, but no .42's. Kenko has .42's, but they definitly aren't high enough quality to shoot HD. Does anyone know where I might find something? Thanks,
  2. Positively? Any story that has a lead-in of, "Tri-state BASE jumpers breaking the law and risking their own lives in your backyard..." is hardly good press. Talking about "getting your fix," listing all of your broken bones, showing your scars, and glorifying the death of your mentor is disgusting at best. As for ethics, they seem to have been discarded just so a few jumpers can see themselves on TV. Some of the footage in this story is the property of jumpers who had no idea it was being used for this purpose, nor were some of the people who appear in the jumping footage asked if they were OK with appearing on the program. I don't understand the purpose of this. I seriously doubt that the local network affiliate looked Jim and Ben up and asked for an interview. Seems like it was probably the other way around. Not only am I not impressed, I'm very disgusted. I'm moving to Cininnati on Monday, and it looks like I'll be travelling to do my jumping. What a joke.
  3. I have to agree with sub_terminal, Two-ply. You are HOT! Can't wait to snuggle up in the Comfort this winter. If your trip brings you through Indy, give us a call. BTW, who is that chick in your avatar? She looks familiar, but I thought she had a really thick mustache.

    full moon in CA

What!!! I could barely make that out through the horrible grammar and spelling errors! It looks like the valley. Is already fu(king. With your head. Compound sentences. Are a bitch. Maybe it's the smog. But most likely the smoke. I miss you, too, getwayhigh. We'll have to get together and watch the Beegees again sometime.

I'm sure he is... Tendons, ligaments... They're gonna be pissed back at the Assisted Living facility when they figure out you're gone, Joe. The buzz hasn't gone away for me yet, either, although in you're case it may be your hearing aid!

    Accident - Last Night?

I have a question for miles: Who is "MEAT?" Your ad in the mag says to call "MEAT." I'm not sure I want to learn to BASE from a guy called MEAT.

Mike, I'm only about an hour and a half south of Chicago. Send me an email(and the digits for the hottie in your avatar). [email protected]

    New Worldrekord !!!

The penalties for an illegal COUSIN jump must be much worse! Wouldn't want to leave any DNA on that object!
  10. I wouldn't admit to knowing either one of you!
  11. Thanx, Brent, those are very good points. My research was very limited, however, because the body, three lenses, two flashes, a tripod, and several other very nice little gadgets were a Christmas present from my girlfriend's dad. The only investment to be made is film, an appropriate wide angle, and a remote switch. At this point, I'm looking for a lens that is compatible with the variety of lenses that I use with my video camera. Unfortunately, I think it's going to take more than one lens to work anywhere from a .5 to a .3. Eventually I guess I'll have to upgrade to digital just to fit in. After all, from the looks of this thread, every SMARTA$$ camera flyer has one!
  12. You're not going to get the same resolution that you would have with the apple display... unless you chose an hp display in which case you would... I understand your point, but my LIFE wouldn't have near the resolution without the BASE gear
  13. What size Cinema Display do you have? I thought only the 17 inch required the ADC adapter. The 20, 23, and 30 inch monitors are all listed as having a DVI connector. I'm not completely familiar with the Apple monitors, though. I opted for a cheaper brand to afford more BASE gear!
  14. I've had the 12-inch model for about a year. It will do just as well for editing as it's larger siblings. You can also take the $$$ you save and upgrade to FCP. If the small screen is a problem, you can easily plug in to a monitor at home.
  15. I might consider that in the future, but I should give it some time out of respect for the giver. If I could get this one dialed-in without too much trouble, I'd like to do that for now.
