I seem to recall this same question a couple of years ago on DZ.com. About 5 years ago my supervising FAA Aviation Inspector at my FSDO (Flight Standards District Office) said they do not have access to it either. They have to request that info from Oklahoma City (FAA Headquarters). An incident, and the sheriff saw the seal symbol and wanted to know, so the sheriff called the FSDO. The FSDO FAA employee actually called me and asked me if I recognized the seal and if I knew the rigger. I didn't. I didn't know of the incident, nor was I involved in any way. I don't know what he did next. Whether he requested from Oklahoma City or not. And, if he did, whether he gave the info to the sheriff. Last I heard of it. For FAA reasons or some other agency's reason, this info isn't avail on a simple search. Doubt the FOIA request will bear fruit. They keep that info confidential, unless things have changed.

Get that "address" and phone back to the mom in Mexico Guatamala, Honduras (where PD canopies are sewn). Then get the children, by way of coyotes to one of the "deportation stations". The child then has the name and the address of dad, mom, uncle or aunt, or even someone who says they are, in uh... let's say Phoenix, Arizona. They have supplied the Immigration officers this address and name of someone who will be responsible for these children. Now the gaming of the system is done. And works quite well. No one seems to mind that the "responsible person" is here illegally. Then, with our taxpayer's money, they put these lice and tuberculosis ridden children on a bus or put them on those big white immigration busses you see in the video, and take them to the so-called responsible parent or relative. Two days ago, the newspaper had a story about these children. "....they were covered with lice in their hair" and you know where (not the quote), scabies, (they washed the hair of one of them in a sink, and "...the sink was crawling with black bugs")and nearly all of them tested positive for tuberculosis..." Drug resistant tuberculosis? Most likely. Now these kids will be in our schools and spreading tuberculosis, and if your child is the one they cough on; guess what? Your child will probably suffer because this drug resistant tuberculosis is mostly incurable. On very powerful meds close to forever, with life long reduced lung function. Now your 15 year old girl or boy is playing soccer and can't keep up, because they can't keep up because they have reduced lung function. They are tubercular. And your children, along with these imports are now disease vectors. First date and first kiss? Teens get tuberculosis. Yeah. Your teens. Your children. Read up about drug resistant tuberculosis. The # 2 killer of humans. 1. AIDS 2. Tuberculosis 3. Malaria. Tuberculosis is damn scary. If you are wringing your hands about the media depiction of these "poor little victims", OK. Invite them into your home. To live with your kids. So, either the first theory is true - their parents dump their children like sacks of garbage, or the parents are gaming the system. Last count is 80,000. There are hundreds of thousands more where they came from. Ready?

It is a legitimate question. And has been answered in various ways. The million to one theory does not seem at first to be valid, because of the complexity... or maybe we just want the "decision tree" to be a small one. Consider the complexity of the tandem decision tree. Fun to just think of the many scenarios, the possible training.....

Being neutral on the issue of prosecutorial discretion on bringing the burglary charges, instead of misdemeanor trespass and base jumping. The definition of trespass is to enter w/o permission. The definition of burglary is to enter without permission WITH THE INTENT to commit a crime "within". Usually the crime within is stealing property, but burglary is also charged if the person had the specific intent to commit any crime. Including arson, assault, destruction of property, theft etc., Burglary is a specific intent crime. Prosecutor must prove, that the trespass was committed with the specific intent to violate some law within. In this case, if I am reading it right, the "crime within", is the other law which prohibits jumping off a building. Even if the offense which was specifically intended (base jumping) is a misdemeanor, it is still defined as a burglary, as the trespass (going in thru a hole in the fence) was done with the specific intent to commit the misdemeanor of base jumping. An analogy would be to trespass-enter without permission, with the intent to steal a low value item. Uh...a candy bar for example. That is defined as a burglary. As I recall, some teenage kid was spotted in the building a month or so ago. Since it could not be proved he had any intent to commit a crime within, he was simply a trespasser. The "within" part is creative on the part of defense counsel, I get that. Not too likely to fly though. Other criminal law definitions may be coming into play here too. Aiding and abetting, (can be charged as principals), conspiracy to commit a felony, etc. Can be used against getaway drivers and those who aided, as long as it can be proved the person who aided knew he was aiding the commission of the felony. The law part is simple, and all of these criminal law principles are used every day to charge those planning, preparing and committing crimes. What is at issue here is prosecutorial discretion: the decision to charge, or not to charge, one thing or another. Not too difficult to see the factors leading to the district attorney's decisions here.

In season (OK not the right season now) Home Depot has the fiberglass snowmobile wands with a small flag on them. They are about 6 or 7 feet long. Maybe they have some somewhere in a warehouse for next winter.

Dacron lines: no no. Must trust PD who used early spectra. As I recall, tho, it seemed like they used really really small line size. Just my recollection. Like I said earlier, I'd upgrade to no less then 725 or even 800+. Nice flying canopy though, and it seems like I remember it was diagonally braced with 27 braces or something like that. (Too lazy to google that.) Anyway, it flies very nice, and lands nicely too. I used a larger sized canopy, so don't know about how the smaller ones perform.

When I put a few jumps on one of those, I remember the lines were very skinny. Understrength was my opinion. No lines broke, but they just looked spindly. When you reline this one I suggest using nothing smaller then 725.

That 4 pronged awful pilot chute was packed- laid on it's side on top of the canopy. It was heavy and could be more like a grappling hook. I have one laying around in the loft somewhere. The weight of the 4 pronged spring assembly was surprising. Heavy. This new system is brilliant, as it launches the pc out, and the orange "spring thing" (see the other guy's picture) just falls away and dies not interfere with the pc; nor is the pc encumbered by the weight of the spring. I don't know where the small weight is attached on the pc though. Apex? Bottom of suspension lines? or? Neat!

rigger 226 Rigger 226 knows what he is talking about and, if I remember right, in addition to the ejector spring, there is a small lead weight somewhere on? or in? the pilot chute that keeps the pilot chute going out when the ejector spring (I didn't know that it was called that) pushes out the pilot chute. Am I correct? Anyway, I don't think any of the military chest reserves now are without pilot chutes. The days of a reserve w/o pilot chute, and requiring the soldier to throw the reserve in the direction of the spin = pretty sure those days are long gone.

Peek is correct. Instinct, or big aircraft experience may have you wanting to face to the front on exit. My Opinion: Don't. You will risk bashing the student's face on the step. Do what peek says and turn outward while diving down to the rear. "Sideways" like he said. My suggestion is to jump solo a couple of times and pretend you have a person in front of you. Perfect your "turn and dive" as a solo jumper; then just do the same thing when you have a student hooked up to you. This is my opinion. I don't have a ton of C-182 exits, but enough to know what doesn't work. Hopefully those tandem instr's who have a LOT of C 182 jumps will chime in here and give you their opinions. Read them all, then pick the advice that works for you.

T dog. Correct. The non compete clause, by itself, probably vitiates the independent contractor status the DZ owner wants to maintain. The states and the federal taxing and regulatory departments both lean to making a person's status as an employee, when the work terms are too controlling and too detailed, etc.. When that happens, the person who simply wants to pay independent contractors and issue 1099's might find that the regulatory/taxation agencies classifies them as employees and not as independent contractors. Then all of the employer's duties will be imposed. (Pay 1/2 of the employees' social security, unemployment, medicare, work comp. The list is long.) The DZ owner might find that his non compete clause is enforceable under contract law principles, but along with it, find that he now has a bunch of employees, instead of 1099 independent contractors. In life, and with he IRS, usually you can't have your cake and eat it too.

No way on those foam mattresses. You will be subject to years of "outgassing"= sublimation of the plastic foam gasses. You will be breathing minute doses of synthetic foam gasses emanating from the foam itself. Not healthy at all. Kinda of like the car manuals advising you to roll down the windows on their new cars on a hot day, to air out the car before turning on the a/c, because of the vapors outgassing from the interior plastic and rubber parts. Especially in the Summer. Strip the mattress down to the bare foam and get close and smell it. If you detect any odor, (you will) it is from the sublimation of the foam chemicals slowly breaking down and ejecting those vapors into the air. Not at all healthy, considering you will be breathing these fumes for years and years.

I have climbed a bit. About 19,000 feet a few times, and 17,700 a bunch of times, and a lot of rock climbing, and enjoyed the achievement. It is very worth it. I am not impressed by this loser's attitude. I don't know who Joe Rogan is, but obviously will do all I can to avoid his act. I don't take advice from dope smokers, nor do I knowingly jump with them.
