  1. On my 32nd jump I had no choice but to try out my reserve due to a main malfunction. I had no problems with the cutaway and the reserve popped really fast. However, I was quite unstable when I pulled. I used both hands to cutaway and both to pull the ripcord on the reserve. I threw both handle away without a thought - my life is worth more than $85. There was no RSL on my rig at the time. I now have a new rig with RSL, but I'm not sure that I like it. I always run EP's through my head before every jump and it really paid off. Don't think it can't happen to you...
  2. Right on brother! I had problems with that as well. What are you jumping out of? I did my hop & pops out of a C182. I solved my problem mostly by relaxing (sounds crazy) more on exit and imagining flying head up along side of the plane on exit. In stead of worrying about making myself get belly to earth, I just made a big X and let it happen. I let gravity do the work.
