  1. I used to have a TRV-11 with a Kenko 0.5 wide angle converter on it. My TRV died, so I am planning on getting a PC-330. Does anyone know how the field-of-views compares on these two cameras? I have heard that the PC-series has a narrower field-of-view, but I have not been able to figure out how much...I am looking to find a wide-angle for the new camera that will give about the same as the 0.5 on the TRV-11? Any ideas?...or am I just smoking something?
  2. I have a Canon Rebel Ti...there was no plate for it, so I just used a piece of 2-sided tape between the stroboframe plate and the camera. It works great!
  3. I currently have a Mirage G3, but I am soon buying a new rig. The prices are only about $100 difference between the G3 and the Odyessy with all the options I want. Any opinions on the differences between the two?
  4. Does anyone have any experience with the Bonehead Z-bracket for mounting a still camera with a top-mount video in a D-box? Does the still camera get into the field of view of the video? Is it too front heavy? In general, how well does it work?
  5. Does anyone have any suggestions on lenses for freeflying....i.e. how wide? I shoot with a TRV-11 and a Canon Rebel Ti. I don't want any fisheye or vignette.
  6. Actually, I had my TRV-11 on a stroboframe before I got a D-Box for it...I had absolutely no issues with the stroboframe at all. Thanks for the info on the cameras!...one more question though. What size lens would you suggest for freeflying?
  7. I am looking in to new canopies, and I was wondering what thoughts people have out there about the Samurai. I'm planning on about a 1.5 wing loading. Anyone out there who owns or has jumped them who can give me some insight on what this canopy is like?
  8. I have been shooting video for a while now and I am looking to add a 35mm still camera to my setup. Does anyone have any advice on what camera to get? I try to shoot a little of everything (freefly, RW, ground canopy shots, etc), and I am looking for something that will last a long time without killing my pocketbook. Lens advice for the camera would be useful too. Thanks!
  9. I started flying camera with 200 jumps or so and have done about 170 camera jumps since. I've been to a lot of different dropzones since I travel a lot, and I never fail to ask questions of the experienced camera flyers I meet. Here's some of the suggestions I have gotten...start with video only...worry about stills when you get better, make sure the helmet is clean...a topmount dbox is probably the best...catching lines and such is a very bad thing, be totally ready to cut the helmet away, start with experienced jumpers in small groups, don't be afraid to tell people that you are in the beginning stages of camera flying...everyone has to learn sometime, and experienced jumpers are usually pretty cool about it, and finally...safety is numero uno!
  10. I use the Vegas Video Editor from Sonic Foundry...it is very user friendly and easy to learn. If you want to do complicated things with the video, make sure you have all the plug-ins and be creative. Also, the audio editing capabilities in this program is outstanding!
