  1. Of the cloud services currently offered by the big players, I like Google Drive the best. This needs a thread in Bonfire.

Problem is, that is just as likely as electing a president that doesn't lie.

How the hell could anyone possibly get through that process without lying? Politicians are people, voters are people, people lie. Some people call it "bluffing" so they don't have to use the L word. A politician that does not lie would be incompetent. You can't handle the truth, at least not all the time.

I would much prefer to be told the truth regardless if I like it or not, than to be told a lie. I guess your ok with dealing with liars.[:/]

I understand your feeling, and that my view is cynical. But really, politics is the art of making people believe in the possibilities, not the realities.

I love debating with the condescending dicks at social functions. Because of what I do and their immediate judgment at my perceived lack of formal education, they think I'm stupid. When I can hang with them on political, economic, and social issues, many times they just get angry and stomp away. The ones with sense and humility engage and we have a great time.

It would be nice if you would share some of your brilliance with us here. So far you are showing us that you are pretty good at name calling and anger. For the record, I am a grade 9 dropout currently driving a truck for a living.

You have never been to the site have you

I was just there. It's a climate change denial blog run buy a guy who used to be a TV weatherman. That is the extent of his training. In other words, he is an entertainer. He likely found a way to cash in on BS and make money easier that doing TV.

    Education and career

Watts assisted with the setup of a radio program for his high school in Indiana,[14] and later attended electrical engineering and meteorology classes at Purdue University, but did not graduate or receive a degree.[2][15] In 1978, Watts began his broadcasting career as an on-air meteorologist for WLFI-TV in Lafayette, Indiana.[3]

He joined KHSL-TV, a CBS affiliate based in Chico, California in 1987,[2][3] and founded a company named ItWorks the same year.[16] He stopped using his first name "Willard" to avoid confusion with NBC's Today weatherman Willard Scott.[3] In 2002, he left KHSL to focus on ITWorks full-time.[17] Watts has been the chief meteorologist for KPAY-AM, a Fox News affiliate based in Chico, California since 2004,[2] and the director and president of IntelliWeather Inc, a subsidiary of ItWorks,[16] since 2000.[citation needed]

Watts was a member of the Chico, California school board from 2002 to 2006.[18] In 2006, he was briefly a candidate for county supervisor, to represent Chico on the Butte County Board of Supervisors, but withdrew his candidacy due to family and workload concerns.[19]

It is not a science site, it's an agenda driven site. And is also not relevant. Not in the game. Dead enders who time has long ago passed by.

Ahhhhhhh, the last link was about an article in a scientific magazine. it's listed if you care to read

The last link I see from you is from wattsup. That is an opinion blog, not a science site.

I'll ask once more. Do you ever trouble yourself with reading science from science sites? Or are you happy to just get pseudo information from blogs with an agenda and post them here? Do you really feel you are triumphing somehow every time you find more of the junk to link to?

Really, you are not even in the game.

Posts like that are not for billvon or gowlerk
They have closed their minds to all new studies

That's because these posts all have links to opinion pages. I get my science information from science pages. Do you ever read science pages?

    Try reading here:

    http://discovermagazine.com/tags/climate-change

It's not a scientific journal, it's Discovery magazine. Pop science, but science focused instead of politics focused like the stuff you post.

Here is a good article on the measuring systems you are so happy with

    http://wattsupwiththat.com/2016/02/17/how-not-to-measure-temperature-or-climate-change-96/

Come on man. We've been though this. Glaciers and sea ice are retreating, CO2 levels are increasing. The facts are in. So can we please get on with arguing/discussing what and even if we should try to do something about it?

Please, make an effort to be relevant.

That's a terrifying job description. If I were you, I'd also have taken up skydiving for the safety it provides.

Is that a high pressure job?

***>Swing and a miss, MSNBC in the morning and NPR in the afternoon.

MSNBC may have fed you that, but I've never heard anything like that on NPR.

    Headline on NPR

"Climate Change Is Killing Us, Literally — And Here's How"

    http://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2015/12/07/458487877/climate-change-is-killing-us-literally-and-heres-how

The link is to the story. The point it seems to make is that climate change is driving the expansion of the range of the mosquito carrying Zika.

I agree with brenthutch that the headline is overreaching and sensationalist. If I was not too lazy I'd file a complaint with NPR's ombudsman. It damages their credibility to use headlines like this, and the premise of the story is weak.

  11. I only can think of P.J. O'Rourke as being editor of National Lampoon in the 70's. I read every edition. Imagine my surprise to find out about his new found conservatism...

Although I still enjoy his appearances on wait wait, don't tell me.

After a ruling in that court, the case might then go the SC, but with a 4-4 split, the case would automatically revert to the Appeals Court ruling, making that the Law of the Land.

My understanding is that would make it the law only in the district the Appellate Court is responsible for. Other courts in other districts could rule differently.

Republican party intellectuals must be getting worried now. America won't elect Trump, but the GOP may nominate him. Maybe they should take that deal on that moderate SC appointment while they still can....

  14. Back to your original question about the value of an old Dolphin. Value is determined by demand. The demand today is for containers that are "freefly friendly". Dolphins can be factory updated to approach this standard, but the cost is over $400 usually. Your Dolphin probably still has snaps on the riser covers. It's not that the entertainer is unsafe, but it's not suitable for some of the newer style of jumping. Therefore the price you can sell it for is limited.

Probably 600 to 700 USD is what you may be able to get for it. I would advise asking less if you want it to sell quickly.

  15. Some manufacturers have a spec for this, check the manual. If there is no spec I usually go with a 1" (2.5 cm) difference. But you need to be careful the overall length is not too short. You really should ask a qualified rigger to look at it.

All the Senate has to do is vote no

Obama can send in another one then
That is the role of the Senate

That is correct. But the Senators will have answer to the people. One third of them this year. So if they do that, they better be able to sell their reason.

  17. What is it with kids? It's always the same damn thing. Choose a container and only then worry about what canopy size they want. LPV reserves are not widely available used for cheap. If you buy a container too small, and LPV is going to be your solution, prepare yourself to buy new.

It's not just you, it's the same darn thing over and over.....

I'm going to enjoy the Left go apoplectic is McConnell refuses to give any Obama SCOTUS appointee a confirmation vote on the Senate Floor. Time a few lib justices got "Borked" as well. Payback can be a real bitch can't it?!?!?!?

What you won't enjoy is having it become an issue in the general election. That will help the Democratic turnout. There are more R senators up for re-election than Ds this time. And at the top, the demographics already give them an advantage. The fight over a nomination is a potential disaster for the Rs.
