  1. No, it is not. They are charged with drug offenses. The ammo was seized, but the article does not mention any charges in relation to it. I'm not sure under what law it was seized, but the house was a large grow op. And it would not seem prudent to just leave it there. I'm guessing if someone can prove legitimate ownership they will be able to recover it. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  2. Nice picture of him and Bondi. She looks nice, but I wonder where his hand is? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  3. I'm not sure either. But a pallet of most anything tops out a about 2 tons. Anything more is too much for the common forklift, or the floor of the truck. A lot of products keep the weight of a pallet to 2200 lbs so that you can put them side by side in the truck. Ammo would be a very heavy product for it's size. That is probably not a standard 40 x 48 inch pallet. If it is it would not be stacked very high. Google tells me 100 rounds is 2.69 lbs so only about 140,000 rounds on one of those pallets. I bet there is a lot more than that up in the GA hills. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  4. Wonder batteries have been just around the corner for so long now that I almost am ready to group them with fusion power. I can see battery powered flight coming, but the need for lightweight components will still leave the vehicle not suitable for the road. I don't see "flying cars" meaning vehicles that are good for both road and sky as a real possibility. For the same reasons that flying birds are not primarily land creatures, and land birds can't fly. Are you old enough to remember the "Super Car" TV show? Now there was a dream car! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTW3sEOaPqU Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  5. That's about 5 miles from where I live. Grow ops are very common here. Bulk ammo, not so much. Probably the grow op is biker owned and operated by a stooge. The ammo, likely in storage for transit elsewhere. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  6. I like your thinking. All those things are factors. Along with winner take all primaries and the fact that no one else stood out in an inspirational way. I know for sure that academics will be studying that GOP primary for years. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  7. Judging by the earlier poll results I'd say there is. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  8. I don't want to start another new thread. But if you voted before and have now changed your mind, perhaps you could mention why? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  9. She is indeed. Also full of youthful idealism. I hope she does not become as cynical and jaded as her father some day. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  10. SC, like skydiving in general is dominated by white males, many with military backgrounds. There are very few black skydivers in America. It would be wrong to say that all these white males are conservatives, but there is a tendency there. As a rule, this group of Americans don't vote Democrat, and they especially dislike HRC. So, faced with only two choices, many of them would choose Trump. They know his shortcomings, but they don't want another Democrat as POTUS. There is a real turning point in social policy coming soon in the US, and it could go either way. A truly conservative POTUS, along with Republican majorities in both houses, would enable a change in direction that these people are longing for. Trump is not a true conservative, but he is far more so than HRC. You need only to look as far as the Supreme Court to see just how important this election is. Having Trump as the nominee is a disaster for the Republican agenda and a Godsend for Liberals. And in my opinion the nation as well. But as I am Canadian, my opinion counts little at all. 11. Trump/HRC did nothing illegal. He/She has very good accountants/advisors in his/her employ. He/she knows how to gather experts to accomplish his/her goals. That is why he/she is the better choice. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
  12. That's more than a little weak. Especially when you have the Billionaires like Trump not paying taxes. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

  15. OPTs ad PDRs are different canopies, designed at different times with different design goals. Clearly it is unlikely that both materials are of the same strength, therefore one is stronger than the other. Clearly, opening characteristics are different, and one is going to be faster than the other. It would be nice if PD would openly state what they believe the advantages and disadvantage of each are, But they will not, and I can't blame them. Anything John LeBlanc or anyone else says will be misinterpreted and misstated endlessly on DZs and forums. So, we are left with the fact that both are certificated canopies suitable for use as sport reserves. And that one has a lower pack volume than the other. Design is a series of compromises and PD is not an exception to this rule. So, it is reasonable for all of us to assume that choices were made. Until it is shown otherwise, I am going to assume that the OPT which was described as having a short snivel, by the designer, and seems to have been designed with the higher airspeed of today's skydivers in mind will take slightly more distance to open all other things being equal. As far as the strength goes, it's possible that the low bulk material is weaker in some aspects. But I don't care. It has clearly proven itself to be of adequate strength for the job. I almost always recommend my customers choose PDRs over OPTs. But there are exceptions. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

  17. The presentation basically uses statistics to show that black communities are overly violent and that they are the authors of their own misfortune. It's a common tactic, and contains elements of truth. But it only looks at one side and does nothing to delve into the causes. It denies that racial bias exists. It's a prime example of Twain and Disraeli's "lies, damned lies, and statistics". Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

  20. The officer did the right thing. Sometimes cops have to get into altercations. The suspect was not armed and shooting him would have been wrong. There were three cops at the scene. The injured officer may have made a tactical error in her approach, but failing to kill him was not an error. If you think otherwise I question your judgement. 21. It's hard to imagine that America could be a net food importer. It's agriculture industry is massive. (I spend a lot of time in the midwest) I do believe I have heard that Iowa alone has more production than all of Canada. Maybe it's because of the policy of turning corn into ethanol instead of food. 24. I'm guessing it's in Mile High's interest to just drag it out and keep costing her group more money. Maybe their lawyer is too busy with other important matters. I'm sure they would like to collect the damages, but the bottom line is frustrating her efforts to hamper their operations. Let her stew in her own juices. 25. Actually an autonomous quadcopter type vehicle would seem slightly more practical. But not one that doubles as a car. Roadworthiness and airworthiness seem mutually exclusive to me. And why would it need to? Other than possibly taxiing to the hangar/garage. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
