  8. did my first "real" crew jump at sunset saturday... buddy on a 235 at 1to1 and me on a sabre15o at 1.4 to 1.. he took 5, i clear and pulled, i was in pretty deep brakes most of the jump ( not the best matches canopy wise..) plenty of close flying, towards the bottom of the jump i ran across his topskin from right to left and what a rush! i know its probably mickey mouse stuff for most of you guys but damn! i havent had that much excitement on a jump in quite some time... just wanted to share.. any experienced crew dogs in the north florida area? what about crew camps... i want more
  9. that sounds alot like trash talk to me... twelve foot octagons are sooo 1999...
  10. www.youtube.com/windworx looks like some people out there are living the dream... fly free or die.
  11. why are professional PHOTOGraphers excluded from a video contest? i make my living off still images, but suck at making videos.. why should i be excluded because i know how to use a camera?
  12. Wrong again. If you take a new flier to the "crappy" tunnels first, they will learn to maximize lift, regardless of suit. When they graduate to a "better" tunnel , they should excel, having already learned how to generate lift from every available surface... look at the best tunnelfliers on the planet... see where they came from... (hint it starts with f, and ends with lyaway...)
  13. common misconception. with the advent of bigger and faster skyventure-style tunnels, many skydivers have adhered to this train of thought. they are, however, wrong, unfortunately. ANY tunnel is a valuable training tool, and you can learn valuable lessons form each type. If you can learn to fly well at the slower airspeeds, or in slightly turbulent air, then you should excel when there is plenty of air or lift. Tunnels are an interesting machine. Instead of just falling faster, as you would in the sky, you must manipulate your desired body position to the available airspeed. This, in turn, creates a more knowledgeable bodyflier, and better skydiver. Not to mention, some of the funnest tunnels, are some of the "amusement ride at best" types. It is interesting, and dare I say, amusing, to watch the "skygod" types, with the " I have x amount of jumps, I can fly anything" get in the "crappy" tunnels and flail to no end.
  14. good one. thats the biggest issue (for me anyway) with the tonysuits.

  18. so did they ask you to post this? thats par for the course.
  19. try a tube attached to both feet, attachments in the middle on both sides... it will probably kill your glide ratio, and go up diagnoaly, but its wort a shot... good luck.
  20. arent you rob's (the owner) brother? is this some sort of advertising ploy?
  21. sweet. but can you honestly say youve never had your ssubject out of frame? if youre only shooting video, though, with a wide enough lens, i could believe you wouldnt need a site... or if youre side mount. i never had a problem with sidemount video only and no sight...
  22. absolutley... i jump with the concentric as well, for the same reason. ive got around 3000 dollars on my head on a camera jump.. why blow the shot because a 50.00 ringsite moved an eighth of an inch?
  23. a mark on the goggles works if youre not terribly concerned with whats in frame. and you always have the same goggles. and they are always in the same spot. (which never happens) taking pictures without a sight is like shooting without looking through the lens. close, maybe... but if you want to KNOW what is in frame, then you need a sight. there are just too many variables...
