  1. I remember back in 1988 round reserves were $35 and Squares were $45 And now some riggers in the year 2008 are charging (gasp) $45 fucking bucks! 20 fucking years later and everything else has gone up but people bitch because I charge $50? You gotta be fucking kidding me Buck! That is it.....From now on it is $75 bucks and you can take it or leave it. With Diesel at over 4 bucks a gallon I can't even drive to the DZ and back on one fucking pack job! Riggers unite! No more 1980's wages!
  2. As usual Stratostar is right on the money. Wrinkles don't mean shit. Stick the handle in the pocket and go jump. If you want a pretty rig buy an Infinity
  3. The bigger the better. This is not a "you shouldn't downsize" reply...This is reality. Most younger jumpers (AKA before- Z-P) do not have much or any experience on f-111 canopies. Go jump an f-111 as a main....several times and then decide if you would like a much smaller one as your last shot. Seriously!
  4. So your theory is that Cooper landed with the money, hid it somewhere, and then came back 8 years later, dug it up and threw it in the river? Why? Maybe he did it just for the thrill and did not even want the money? What?
  5. I used to jump one, it was one of those oddball canopies with only 3 line groups (no D lines)
  6. I agree, you might want to consider opening just a tad higher.
  7. We usually don't jump when it gets this bad.
  8. At least he is a democrat, if he was a republican it would have been a male prostitute.
  9. Looks like some golf-dude stole his handle, I guess Dave did not renew his domain. Hey Jen, give me a call. 410-286-9381
  10. I guess Dave is off-line now, Does anyone know his phone nmber?
  11. If I remember correctly there were 7 new board members elected in the last election. Since then the Mid-Eastern and Eastern positions have been replaced. So out of the 7 new board members one has only been on the board for about a week, another about 7 months and the other 5 for just over a year. It would seem to me that those 7 people also felt we needed new people on the board and they actually did something about it.
  12. Call Ralph, If he doesn't have it nobody does.
  13. I have only had my HC3 for a year now and it still seems like a "new" camera to me. I jump it in a cookie box and it is stored in a padded case when not in use so it still looks brand new even after a year of jumping. As much as I would like to go tapeless I just can't see buying a new camera right now when this one is doing the job. (And quite well I might add.) Tapes are cheap and easy and I like having the lanc. As cheap as they are now I would probably buy another HC3 or HC5 as a back up before going tapeless. But most likely my next purchase will be a new lens for my still camera or a better wide angle for video.
  14. I have not done one myself but I have seen it done twice by a friend who is a master rigger. All he did was remove the outside line and install a new one towards the center cell on each side. No need to replace the entire line set if they are still in good shape. It only takes a few minutes and well worth it in my opinion. I have jumped a Tri before and after the mod and the improvement was significant.
  15. Except Roger wears gloves..... Did Cooper wear gloves?

  17. They are really not that hard if you plan for it and take it seriously. I have done several and not all went well but other than bumps and bruises we all walked away. For your first one here are my suggestions: The passenger (Mr. Bill) should be smaller than the base (sluggo) You should use a large docile f-11 canopy that will snivel on a sub-terminal opening. Flat pack it and roll the nose up to the at least the c lines. Use a big slider. Do not take a delay at all, keep the airspeed low. If possible have a qualified IAD instructor deploy for you. In my opinion these are best done out of a cessna with flaps and low airspeed. Hold on tight but do NOT ever hook your arms inside your buddies harness. Wear gloves and beware of handles. DO it HIGH 10,000 feet or above. It is just a hop and pop but if you are low you will pucker. The most important thing is to pack for it and plan, do not treat it like a random skydive. And brief the pilot and every one else on your intentions. Talk to those that have done it before. Mr Bills are a blast and the jumps you will always remember but they must be done with respect. More later,
  18. Thanks, I swear I tried that several times but now all of the sudden it worked. Anyway I just burned my first DVD and it came out sweet. IDVD takes way to long so I doubt I will use that much but if you have time it really is cool. Thanks again and goodnight.
  19. Thanks, I just discovered the free download. I guess I just assumed they would try to suck more money out of you OK, so I downloaded the 06 version and it said installation is complete however when I try to open it I still get the 08 version..... Very frustrating, I thought macs were supposed to be easy?
  20. I just got a new macbook and I am still trying to figure it out (life long PC guy) I mostly plan to use it for tandem videos and stills. It came with imovie 08 and so far I am not too impressed. I was able to capture video, add transitions and titles, and add background music but now I am stuck. I can't seem to fade in/out the audio and slo-motion doesn't seem to be an option at all. The tutorials are vague at best. They tell you what you can do but not so much how to do it. So anyway, from what I heard imovie '06 is better. Should I go back wards to '06? I can get it for $55 on Amazon. Or should I buck up and get final cut express 4 for $199? I have not tried the iDVD yet, I am trying to finish a video first before I try to burn a DVD. Good/ bad? Any help would be greatly appreciated but please try and keep it in simple terms that a mac neophyte can understand.
