Canon MV 430i Canon 300d ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. (nothing is difficult for those who really want it) -
Nope. You have just gained more experience on packing. Correct and a Pilot isn't as slippery as a PD canopy when its new. So it is easier to pack ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. (nothing is difficult for those who really want it)

I'm jumping a Icon and i set the brake lines just like in the picture. Never had any problem, maybe it gets "stuck" because you hold it down on the ground??? I'd stick to the manual if i were you. 1) Take a canopy control course as soon as possible. 2) Don't buy a new (or used) canopy until you've had a chance to demo a few. Stick with more conservative types - Safire1 or 2, Sabre2, Pilot... and even though you think you want a 9 cell this time, I'd suggest demoing a Spectre as well. 3) Keep your wingloading light (1.0-ish) until you know you've got your landing issues worked out. i'll second that.Demo, demo and than demo some more untill your happy about the canopy. good luck & welcome back F ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. I,ve had a Turbo ZX 185, put about 350 jumps on it. It wasn't al that bad for a first canopy, but yes the openings can be a lets say: not that great for camera jumps. I think these days there are way beter canopies in the market like the Pilot, or a saf 2. I always say try it before you buy it!!!!!!!!! PS: made a cut-a-way twice. ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. (nothing is difficult for those who really want it)

That is the only right thing to do, demo them and than make up your mind. The same here i've never jumped a Mirage of my size so its difficult to compare the two. good luck. F ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. (nothing is difficult for those who really want it)

I don't know what your problem is. In my opinion the best way to choose a canopy and rig is to jump it. I demod al of my Aerodyne gear and than bought it. The I-4 i jump is not to big for my Pilot 124, so there is no problem even if it is not in the chart on the Aerodyne site. So go to a dealer or contact Aerodyne they will help you out. Later F ps: is this the same way you pick your car, without driving it, just on what the brochure tells you? ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. Couldn't have said it any beter! ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. (nothing is difficult for those who really want it)

Go for the Pilot you will not be sorry! ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. (nothing is difficult for those who really want it)

Try to get in contact with Aerodyne and test jump the Pilot, you'll love it. I've got a Pilot 124 myself (about 230 out the door) and have gotten the nicest openings, soft & onheading. After opening it's great fun to fly. Also you can fly it in deep breaks and wait for the team to land or make it back from a long spot. later F ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. Why don't you try them on for size. To me that would be the most important thing i'd like to know when i'm buying a harness. Thats way more important than colors or DOM. ICON : great rig i love my I-4, very comfy, great fit, lots of "options" are standard. Pilot: Perfect canopy, great soft, on-heading openings and powerful flare, nice swoops. Smart; good to know its my plan-B, jumped a Smart 150 demo, it flies like a 7-cell should. later F ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. Try the Aerodyne Pilot, great soft & on-heading openings. I think soft openings are not the only thing that make a canopy comfortable, also on-heading is very important for comfort. Contact Aerodyne and ask if they still have some in stock. ( http://www.aerodyne-int.com ). Or take a look at the Classifieds there are a couple of Diablos for sale. I think they stopped production because they now have the Vision. Why not try that one. ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. Do you want to buy a Diablo? ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. (nothing is difficult for those who really want it)

I second that!!!!!! ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. (nothing is difficult for those who really want it)

I've made some demo jumps on a Smart 150, it flies like a 7 cell is supposed to fly is easy to land. If your you want to make sure contact Aerodyne and let them hook you up with a Smart demo in the size you want, and find out for your self. ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. Why do you want to remove them??? ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. (nothing is difficult for those who really want it)

Who knows something about this Pentax camera. And how does it compare to the Nikon D70 & Canon Rebel/300d? Thanks for your feedback. F ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. (nothing is difficult for those who really want it)

He Sparky, Stay away from Optical stabilizers for skydiving. I had a camera with an optical stabilizer and it sucks for freefall. For ground/around the house shots it works great, but it can't handle the ruff ride of a freefall. later F ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. It didn't happen to me, my Icon fits me like glove. Greetz F -------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. (nothing is difficult for those who really want it)

I can second Bill's opinion about the Icon, i'm getting my Icon very soon, great value for your money. My Talon worked great for me. The most important thing when buying a rig is the same as with a canopy: try it before you buy it!!!!! See what options you would like and look at the prices. Make some color samples and see which one you like. ------------------------------------------------ NIL VOLENTIBUS ARDUUM. (nothing is difficult for those who really want it)
