  12. vid with a landing at the end: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLXjAt26xB8 I could be wrong, but I also think that this is real: - as Billvon said, engines are available in the RC world - configuration makes sense: engines are mounted in the flyboard, throttle control in hand, fuel in a backpack, control by balance just like water-fed flyboards - from an unknown source, hoax would not be damaging. But from a company making those water-fed flyboards, an hoax would only have negative results. Now, this device has strong limitations: any engine failure (probability is multiplied by # of engines) and it will go down fast, so it is limited to fly low over water deep enough to cushion a fall + drowning risk with all this weight attached to pilot. I also think that the wireless controller is an added risk, mostly from RF interference. As there is already a fuel line connecting the backpack to the board, a control wire connecting the throttle to the board wouldn't pose any more problems. All your dropzone are belong to us!!!!111!
  13. I was skeptic at first too, but an hoax would be a very bad PR stunt for the company (Zapata Racing). And other videos, recorded by third parties during tests, are emerging: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLXjAt26xB8 Edit: I forgot to add that this is beyond awesome! 14. At a conference of Archeologists in Paris, a group of the delegates were having a discussion over a few drinks at the hotel bar discussing recent discoveries. The German guy was explaining at a recent dig near Düsseldorf to a depth of 10 feet last year, German scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 200 years and came to the conclusion that **their** ancestors already had a telephone network more than 150 years ago. Not to be outdone by the Germans, the French archaeologist noted that they had excavated to a depth of 20 feet at a site in Lyon, and shortly afterwards, a story was published in the "Le Monde" newspaper: "French archaeologists, finding traces of 250-year-old copper wire, have concluded that **their** ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network 50 years earlier than the Germans". The Belgian representing the "Bureau des Mines" in Wallonia piped up and noted that their Scientific Journal published the following; "After digging as deep as 30 feet in Wallonia , Belgium, just outside of the city of Charleroi, Albert Cougné, a self-taught archaeologist, reported that he found absolutely nothing at all. Albert had therefore concluded that 250 years ago, Belgium had already gone wireless." All your dropzone are belong to us!!!!111!

  17. That. And the fact that the technology was barely up to the task back then. The level of risk was very high, and almost every mission experienced one or two hair-raising moments having the potential to turn into a catastrophe. So after 5 successful missions and 1 successful failure, I think that many decision makers were reluctant to push their luck any further. That being said, the ingeniosity displayed by the space and ground crews to overcome the myriad of small and big problems is impressive. I enjoyed reading the "CVR" transcripts of the flights: http://history.nasa.gov/afj/ and the operations on the Moon surface: https://www.hq.nasa.gov/alsj/ All your dropzone are belong to us!!!!111!
  18. This above. Although Nataly I'm not implying that you did or said something so bad that it turned him down immediately. Maybe the guy is still broken by a previous relationship and, when meeting you, he realized that he is absolutely not ready/able to move on. Or he has a SO and was looking for some fun 'on the side' but his morals finally kicked in... Or he was just a jerk ;) Anyway, even a short explanation would certainly have been more courteous than this but, apart for the time it took you to go to this lunch place, whatever his reasons were, good or bad, you're most probably better off. :)

  23. Hey, Steam is nice with all those indie games available and the regular sales! Dont get me started on Uplay though, I hate this stuff with a passion ... FPS don't entertain me much these days, don't knwo why as I really enjoyed them a few years ago. Maybe burned out with the genre. My son (13) is having great fun with Arma III and the shitload of mods available. My favorite games right now are Kerbal Space Program, heavily modded for realism, and Elite:Dangerous. I might let myself be tempted by DCS A-10 or Mig 21 simulator soon... All your dropzone are belong to us!!!!111!
  24. I would sue Microsoft, DCS and Laminar Research for making such realistics flight simulators, much better chance to receive big $$$... All your dropzone are belong to us!!!!111!
