All the one in the CIA, too? This is an ignorant racist term. You are not part of the answer -- you are part of the problem.

Sisters handicapped tandem @ Cross Keys
Iflyme replied to Scottyb's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
That very cool. I had some involvment a couple of years ago where a young man (20 years old or so) dying of cancer had a last wish -- to skydive. Our DZO took him for a tandem ... (my newsroom did a news story about it) ... he died a few weeks later. It was truly wonderful to see this man's dying wish come true. A moth of two after he passed away, his Mom came out and a did a tandem (I think she had his ashes in her possesion). Compelling stuff ... I'm glad your sister had the thrill of a lifetime on her jump! I take issue, however with you suggesting that someone is "confined" to a wheelchair. I would suggest rather that a wheelchair offers the mobilitya person would otherwise not have, thus enabling them to venture out into the world. The term "confined" has such negative connotation... -
It's really pretty sad when the leader of a nation allows his religous beliefs to cloud his judgment -- particlulary when that man is commander in chief of the world's most powerful military, and holder of the world's greatest cache of WMDs...

Congrats!!! I'm sure you'll make a nice couple ... couple of "what", we're not sure ... skydiving couple, perhaps! Anyway, post the wedding pix when you have them!

I would learn a language spoken in China -- Mandarin... also, I would like to learn some of the dialects spoken by the First Nations people here on the West Coast of Canada.

Michele, I found over 150 files of spyware after installing and running lavasoft's ad aware in my computer. I've been using it for about 3 months now. My computer is running much better!!! I also have another free program called "Pop Up Killer" ... I've been running that for a couple of years. There's nothing worse than have those freakin' ads appearing every second or so!

I had to learn to type and beat 30wpm to get out of college (I was studying television production) ... at the time, most of thought it was the silliest thing going -- learning to type to work in a television station ... but that was 20 years ago. Now I am REALLY glad I learned to type, and I can hit around 50 wpm.

"flipping job" ... burgers on the grill?

The whole thing is ... if there is a serious injury or fatality, and investigators are asking questions around the dz, and some newbie says "well I heard some jumpers talking about blah blah blah..." Well that just wouldn't be cool ... Best advice? Lay low, and don't broadcast to everyone.

I'm with Wendy. I have an RSL. I have not had a cutaway yet. I'll keep the RSL in place, except on those jumps with the CReW flyers.

Hopefully, fewer people will die at the hands of drunk drivers if the limit is lowered in your state. That is a hell of a lot more important a few million bucks.

Same reason as police anywhere else would -- part of an investigation. Is this what police in the USA do?

What are the factors that you pick a DZ?
Iflyme replied to kyros1's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
well ... the DZ has to be on the same island I live on ... that is the most importand -- and only factor in my choice. -
does anyone NOT get nervous when they jump?
Iflyme replied to Newbie's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
No, I don't get nervous ... I do, however, have a heightened sense of awareness when I'm skydiving ... but the nervousness faded after about 40 jumps or so ...
