  1. Chris When I posted this, I did not know who it was. I had only heard a vague rumor with no names attached. It was after my post that I was able to talk to Tom & he told me about it. Every human can make a mistake & I too applaud you for owning up tp it. I know you care a lot about people . I was just curious from a rigging standpoint. I thought maybe there was a problem with some L Bars being able to work loose shaking around in the container. Thats why I asked for the facts.
  2. HOLY SHI_ !! Can anybody substantiate this rumor that I heard? I was told that a Tandem Master at the Dublin Boogie had a cutaway and just shortly after landing the reserve, a rear line group seperated. The rumor goes on to say the L Bar was missing a screw. However , correct me if I'm wrong, an L Bar must be missing both screws in order to actually seperate. Does anybody have the facts??
  3. No problem, Hans. Glad to be of service. 10 yrs as a successfull DZO has afforded me the luxury of choosing who I want on my DZ. Everybody does not automatically have an undeniable right to remain here Good manners are required. Emotional outbursts which disrupt operations are not acceptable. I keep only the best. I have the absolute best staff & best customers in the World. You can have the rest. I don't need the money that bad. I hope you one day may enjoy the same success that I have. I'd be interested in talking with you in about 5 or 6 years. That's how long it took before I asked the 1st person to go away. There have been only 2 others since...3 people in 10 years out of over eight hundred "up-jumpers" The other 797 are just fine and are very welcome here. We no longer have the Drama or bad vibe that was starting to develop. We are all very happy campers here. Best of luck in your endeavor as a DZO.
  4. Mike & Chris decided to pack it in a few months back, so now, most of the Dothan area & Ft Rucker people are jumping over here in Tallahassee. It's about a 2 hr drive ..We fly a very nice King Air every Saturday & Sunday. A lot of the Alabama peeps come over & stay (camp out) on Saturday night.... www.skydivetallahassee.com
  5. Lance ?? Dude? What the FUC**??? Who told you that shit?? I am the only one who can kick people off the DZ & if I'd have kicked ya off I'd have let ya know it. This is total BUllshit started by some trouble maker....will it never end??? You have always been welcome here & always will be....but, don't ya think ya could have called me to see if it was even true??????
  6. I went skiing for the 1st time last year. It was a blast. I took the beginner class & headed off to the slope. Had no trouble getting off the lift--many others did- And spent as much time on my butt as my feet. But I DID get better everytime I went down the hill. And as I said it was a blast. My only advice is: Make sure your boots fit really well. If not you'll think your feet have been in a miniature torture chamber all day. If they're not comfortable, keep going back to the rental desk until you get a pair thats feels good.
  7. In keeping with our Safety Day tradition Skydive Tallhassee has a full line up of Safety Seminars for the day. Designated Parachute Rigger Examiner Mike Gainey will offer up his 30 + years of rigging experience, Tom Balboni will cover aircraft procedures. Several staff members will man the hanging harness for those wishing to have a thorough emergency procedures review. New this Year, our own local Emergency Medical Technicians will come out & teach us what to do to best help out any injured buddies until they can get there, and we can show them how to remove our rigs without causing major damage. A huge bonfire party with free food, a keg of beer, and jello-shots will take place after the jumping ends.
  8. Wow, how did you find that out??? And what else did you hear??
  9. I sure wish there was a way I could make this trip... I have very fond memories of jumping in Jamaica....in Kingston --right into the front yard of the Jamaica House (Prime Minister's residence) with 2 of my buddies, 1 burnin' 100,000 cubic ft smoke canisters... unannounced and uninvited......Hey not my fault....I didn't do the bad spot--just picked the nicest landing area, how the heck did I know it would cause an International Incident??
  10. I agree but the overhead with most dropzones is pretty low. They are located in far out rual areas where the land is cheap. All you really need is a Manifest booth a dirt airstrip a very old plane a tandem rig or 2 an outhouse that is about it. Skydivers are not picky about their facilities. The airplane is the only real expense with fuel costs. How can dropzones not handle these costs? edited to add: assuming the DZ owner and his girl live at the dropzone, the DZ owner can fly the plane and the girl can run the ticket counter. Damn! It's just that easy! When and where exactly will you be opening YOUR DROP ZONE with the really cheap jumps? I may head that way.
  11. Oh yeah dude, I totally agree with you & personally jump reserves (I have several rigs) bigger than my mains.... Even if you eliminate all the safety issues...fact is I want lots of "hang-time" to see where the heck that $1500 plus main and $200 plus freebag & pilot chute are getting off to.
  12. Jimmy, Keith, Debi, TMac & his son, Mr Bill, most of the regulars....YOU......
  13. We had a jumper on our DZ deploy his Smart 120. He goes out the door over 200 #. Great opening, sweet landing. He was very happy with it's performance.
  14. Hey Jeff, Make that TWO, Just got another....I can't stand you & Balboni & Scott & Charlie & Doug fighting over the One..Oh no I quess I need FIVE
  15. Yes, I am the "psychoswooper" because I can't break that damned 20 year old habit of doing..(oh my gosh say it isn't true) toggle turns...and really low.... I have never eaten it....have gotten pretty darn good at it actually, and have incredibly good accuracy.....although I still get in the corner every once in a while, I have always been able to bring it out in time... Ian Bobo thinks he can fix me......so one of these days if I get a couple of weeks free. I'm gonna bust out a bunch of jumps with a good canopy coach (you're never too old to learn) & start doing it the right way... I always have to tell the new jumpers to never ever under any circumstances do what I am doing...I am only alive because I don't know any better
  16. you guys should settle it over longest swoop, best out of 3, loser buys a case:) No way man. he'd killllll me in any type of swooping event........it would be a totally unfair contest.
  17. QuoteQuote I don't even know what your post was in response to but you have got to be kidding. Yep, I was kidding. I hate lawsuits, I prefer Mariel refugees & the like.
  18. No threat , just a statement of fact, and besides it's not directed at you. I realise you were a pawn in somebody's twisted game. But I'm really getting tired of it. But you do know who told you it was me. THAT is the person to watch out for. Yes please do check the IP addresses. I am innocent. Only 2 people use this computer & neither of us is tantalum... But really, I don't see where the original poster directed anything towards anybody in particular anyhow, His/her posts were pretty generic . What really happened dude? Was somebody (really paranoid type) at your side going "Oooh look at this...she's picking on us or what?" And moderator people please do delete all of this crap..damn, I've never been around a bonfire like this.......maybe the internet needs some good beer to chill things out like it is at a real bonfire.
  19. OK Mark; Now that you realise I am not Tantalum and there- fore all the shit you said about me was not about me at all......could you at least be own up to it in public like you did in your PM to me, or have the moderator delete it? I have already printed it out, and my attorney is looking into whether it is libel or not...because it's very derogatory, it's in writing, 2200 people have read it so far and it is FALSE because I AM not tantalum. BTW whoever told you it was me or that I have done anything similar is a trouble-making pussyfied little coward who I will personally take care if I find out. Signed: The real DZO of skydive tallahassee who never posts anonymously & doesn't give a rats ass what you guys are doing. Just leave us alone.. You won't find a single post where I am saying crap about you like I do you guys about me & my staff...Who are the real trouble makers??? Notice how even now, in spite of what's been done I haven't said who "you guys" are or which DZ you're affiliated with?
  20. Several years ago. After just 3 months of dating my boyfriend bought me a CYPRES. I felt soooooo loved. How about this for a marketing slogan: Nothing says "I love you" like a CYPRES
  21. Check out the School of Human Flight in Tallahassee FL. Just 90 minutes (if ya drive fast) from Panama City FL..one of the very best Spring Break locations going. And one of the best AFF schools too. In fact MTV Spring Break did their Tandem jumping here..... http://skydivetallahassee.com
  22. Skydive Tallahassee wil be open Jan 1st...but not the other days.
  23. Did you realise that Alive is really a song about being born again? If not, listen to it--knowing that makes it even better.
  24. We're closing up Skydive Tallahasseee for Thanksgicing weekend & taking a crew down to Lake Wales. Anybody know of anything special happening that weekend? Saw some great video from their new swoop pond. Scott Graham busted a new daring freestyle move that we might name either the Graham Cracker or the Grammy--not sure which yet.
  25. Many jumpers at our DZ -Tallahassee FL --have jumped both canopies. That is: Pilots and Sabre 2's. The general concensus seems to be. Pilot opens much better & turns faster. Sanre 2 is a bit easier to land regardless of technique. General overall preference is for the Pilots. We have available for demo purposes a Pilot 210, Pilot 188 & Pilot 168, as well as a vision 117 and if you need a slightly bigger canopy, a Solo 230.
