  1. Hi, I have the chance of using a relatives property in Cedar Key, Florida. can anyone tell me where the nearest place to skydive is? Thanks.
  2. we all make choices in life. are you a paid packer? if so. stop whining friend and get on with your job. what is your problem? surely the more you pack the more money you have, hence the more you jump. am i missing something here???
  3. does anyone know if i'll be liable to UK import tax and VAT or whatever, if i buy a used rig from the states and have it posted to uk? is there any limit on the price/cost/amount for used gear coming over in the post? thanks for any advice...
  4. give us a break. i am after a mule, not a racehorse.
  5. any brit out there going to be in florida sometime early april and fancies bringing my rig back. will be something in it for you of course. feel free to PM me.
  6. what do you want to use it for? i love my 10.25 inch barrelled colt. used to use a 7.5 inch but lost too much velocity and the flash during night firing was blinding me. all depends what you're using it for.
  7. thanks for the responses guys. at least most of you got the point. looks like i'll pop over and collect the thing myself. really wanted my first jump to be with mates at local dz but if i have to endure the delights of florida, then i must!
  8. thanks for the offer mate. might just do that. probably fly to miami, drive to la belle and do a different DZ each day. whats the weather like late april there?
  9. anyone been to labelle? got a rig to collect and wondering whether its worth atrip or have it mailed? what's the nearest airport? i'm coming from UK. heard it was miami... thanks all
  10. any of you UK jumpers ever had a rig sent from the states. what tax were you stung for? any advice round it? cheers...
  11. look no further than empuriabrava. meets all your requirements. cheap and easy to get to, english speaking instructors. good, cheap accommodation. i recently did aff there and can safely say that all the above is genuine. you won't be disappointed.
  12. go to empuriabrava now! i am a complete novice having just completed AFF and my consolidation jumps there but i have nothing bad to say about the place. being new to this sport, i obviously felt a little uneasy.....for about 30 minutes. met some great people there. the instructors are some of the best in the world and yet not at all full of themselves. basically they cannot do enough for you. the loads are very frequent and people were moaning when they had to wait more than 20 minutes to go back up. now apparently that's not bad! the pro shop is well stocked and the staff more than willing to advise. cheers gary. the weather is great yet the wind can be a pain. you'll probably get lucky. but hey, there's a great pool, bar, cafe and a resort town on the doorstep. i highly recommend it! GO NOW!
