As it was said, ISG wind tunnels are very good (for wind, size/power/price ratio, etc) and it's quite a lot now in Europe If you plan to fly a lot I can see two variants of strategy (well, 2.5 coz you can mix it) 1. Fly less at once but more often - for this plan the nearest good WT (as mentioned above Bottrop WT) will work better 2. Find a cheaper (but it should be yet good) WT and fly a bulk time (again it's cheaper) say once in a month or so For this plan IMHO our FlyStation WT in Saint-Petersburg (Also ISG design) has probably the best offer ;) Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

It's all about your's nature and what you are considering as "good sit" For average learnig curve 5Hr should give a solid base in a sit flying and start to some advached HU skills, but again - it's very individual And yes, 5k$ sounds way too high for 5Hr Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

  12. Not technical, but organizational/legal H-mm franchise? Really? So Letaruim - IMHO the best bet (if Freezone don't start work at the time) if you consider only Moskow and don't need of space during flying) P/S Saint-Petersburg not too far from Moskow btw;) Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

IMHO home training can be quite useful if given by coach There some points in body position and bodypart's relative movement that can be successfully trained and save a lot of WT time at the beginning of learning of various elements) But again it should be given by a coach, not "invent" by yourself coz these exercises can be vary non like to elements for which it were developed) Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

  15. I'd prefer to give some advice, rather than Critique) 1 If you have the plans to visit concrete WT - may be it will be more usefull to ask the Instructor at this WT to look, give some input? Those, who actually will be coaching you) 2 If you are planing a consedirable amount of time in WT in future it will be quite usefull to get your own proper suit, it's really worth it Regarding your video: as usual - more breathing and relaxing, more smoth movements, less tension and rapid erratic ones:) In backfly (and sitfly later) try to keep you toes a little bit pulled unto your self (it really helps get the tend to keep right angles/feelings etc of whole leg and very important point - hips) Also try to keep your heels wider than your knees And don't bring your elbows to your torso Good Luck;) Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

Well It's should be, many of flyers and skydivers from many DZ/Countres were here and were quite pleasefull at leaving) But feedbacks, found yourself are always more credital that those wich were given by staff isn't it?) If you can barely fly in a sit at max speed - that it's defenetly will be an issue in HD, so I am afraid that in a short term you'll be able only do pre exercises for HD on the net (feeling your leg, torso, relaxing, being stable on the net w/o supporting with hand, turn on the net etc) which can be veryusefull nevertheless You'll be able to start learning some vertical transitions also Well in the long term you'll be able to do HD using carving and other dynamic technique, but in more powerfull WT it will be defenetly faster progression Regarding carving an moving in sit - actually it's require less speed than static hoovering (espetially carving) so you'll get it;) Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

  21. IMHO on such ship shouldn't be a problem to provide 0.5 MWt which will be enough to some HD in 8-10 feet WT. I think that there is reason to not limit powerplant only for barely lift firstimer from the net: 1. in case of a big firstimer some time we have to set speed quite enough to make some FF :) 2. Instructors demo flying will attract the crowd and good as intertainment I think it will be close to IFly Holiwood which not as large and powerfull as wanted but even I (~200 lbs in tiny suit) was able to fly HD there) Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

For barrel rolls mostly helps: 1: you should stabilize yourself along horizontal axis - so keep looking at the point infront of you (instructor's eyes - perfect poinf for focus) through whole transition (when you looking up as in video - you tilt your head, and upper body loose lift and you dive) 1.5 More help you'd get if you keep looking and try to reach this point in front of you by your arm (imagine yourself like you trying to screw some screw) around which you want to rotate (right arm for clockwise rotation and vise versa) - it's prevent your diving at backflying position even more 2: Other thing - is to bring both of your knees forward a little - this also prevent your forward diving after rotation (since it will be less pushing at legs), your bodyposition will be close to neytral backflying and actual rotation will be easyier Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

Again - it's quite defferent for each tunnel (at least if you are not experienced WT Instructor yet) so need to be discussed directly with management of WT which you wish to work Than you will pass throug training course (theory + ~ 10-30 hrs (but usually in group of others) and take you sertification or some You also can pass through training course and became WTI at one of WT with WT examiner by your own and that start to looking for job in da WT over the world) Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

It's sounds weird for me Yes I flyied and worked only in tunnels here but I never heard from anyone, that any WT would forced you to fly coachspecific slots (if I understood your post right) In my home WT (flystation) and AFAIK in other ISG (boottrop line of WT) it's works as follow: You pay for your time You get a safety/spotter You can invite your coach or get our instructor for coaching/debriefing If you take our instructor as coach or your instructor is known instructor from other ISG tunnel that it's allowed to fly without spotter (but the spotter get in for an advanched transition/elements and if coach asked) In all cases you will fly the time that you wish to Flying without coaching IMO - wasting of time and money of course there is a point when you work on shown elements by you own And yes we as a spotters almost always readily help flyers with advices not only spot, but true choaching/debreifing is more effective) Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
