  3. As small as the skydiving community is I can't believe nobody knows Ozzie. Also, wanted to get it back on the first page for all those people wasting their time at work reading dropzone.com forums. Thanks, Mike
  4. I sold Ozzie a rig a couple of years ago and shortly after that it was stolen from him. The rig has resurfaced and is trying to be sold. So if anyone knows him please contact me. Thanks, Mike
  5. Just curious how much activity Tecumseh gets on Fridays afternoon. Thanks for your help.
  6. I have seen people referencing that they use their feet and legs only while turning in a sitfly position. Can anyone explain how this is done? Thanks, Mike
  7. Yes, I served my time in the 82nd ABN Division Ft. Bragg.
  8. First part Rook Nelson. Second part Daddy Nelson (Roger Nelson)
  9. I would say in the wind tunnel. Being that I'm cheap it was a tough number to swallow, but I think the time was invaluable and now I have actually gone in there twice.
  10. Thank you for the information. Mike
  11. Hey I will be in Palm Springs CA the 24th thru the 27th and I was curious what dropzones are close to Palm Springs. If anyone can help me out with names and approximate drive times to dropzones I would appreciate it. Thanks, Mike
  12. I believe it is hard to determines somebodies ability based on jump numbers and license. It might be more relevant to find out what kind of training or coaching they have received in their given discipline. I think the tunnel is a valuable tool in learning how fly your body, but it doesn't teach one how to do a high performance landing under canopy.
  13. You mention you are slowly moving forward and you are having problems stopping this forward movement. In a nuetral position you shouldn't be moving forward. Sense you feel your legs are in a good position assuming from your earlier comment that you don't want to put your feet on your butt, try extending your arms to stop that forwad movement.
  14. I always defray the salary question until I have decided whether or not I truely want the position. I avoid giving an answer by telling them if this is the right position for me there is some flexibility in the compensation package I would require. Just my opinion. Mike
  15. I heard in the pro swoop meets that some of the swoops runs are set up so the landing is downwind. How are you able to bleed off the additional speed that you have going downwind and still land on your feet? Mike
  16. Newbie, Here is an idea that might help you relax and arch properly. The arch doesn't come from your back, but from your hips. To get the proper feeling (do in private), stand 8 inches or so from a wall and push your hips towards the wall. If you keep your shoulders over your feet you will begin to feel what the arch should feel like. Have fun and breath, Mike
  17. Thanks for the video, That didn't look like it took much effort at all. Mike

I've been a newbie for over a year!
  22. I've used the auction site here and on ebay and personally I think auctions suck. I would rather talk to the individual and make the purchase rather than playing the bidding game. It appears the bidders want it for nothing and the seller sets a reserve that often times is never met. Just my thaughts. Mike
  23. Our camera man always takes the center and we track away. Seems to be pretty standard, but not having flown a camera before can a person flying camera and wearing a wing track? Or is it too slow or difficult to get any seperation even in a pinch? Mike

    why

I can't understand why you have a problem with it either. Is there a deep rooted fear of being alone, hidden away in your pysche, and the dangers of skydiving brings this fear to the surface and radiates into a need to understand why someone would to something that brings them so much joy? I want to understand why you don't understand, I'm here to listen, please feel free to explain your inner feelings in this relatively anonymous atmosphere. Snow, snow, everywhere. Mike
