  1. My better half mentioned to me that different species of pine have different watering requirements. The ones she had as Christmas trees growing up in Oz would easily do a waterless month without dropping needles. Quite possible that the French varieties don't need water.
  2. Bet your former landlords love you .
  3. Not only against regs here, stupid as hell too. That is how people get dead, like last year here in Florida... 2 hanging on the outside of a Stearman for an airshow demo of all things and one falls the hell off and goes splat in a neighborhood. Stupid skydiver tricks never cease to amaze me sometimes... You know that aerialfx does stupid stunts for a living? http://aerialfx.co.za/stunts.htm
  4. "Call when you get home from work"
  5. Fosters . . . the milwaukees best of Australia. Fosters: almost entirely unavailable in Australia. After a decade in Oz I could count the number of times I saw regular Fosters on the fingers of one hand.
  6. Closer to me than to you, but no, I didn't get to see them live. 5.5h drive from here...
  7. My routine, designed to minimise chances of fogging: 1- Wait until cold air has hit my face to close the visor. 2- Breathe out just before I close the visor. 3- Don't forget to breathe in Idea being that if I can minimise the amount of warm moist air trapped in the helmet, I'm less likely to see fogging on exit. If you're getting fogging at 4-8k, the above advice probably won't help heaps. But if you're seeing fogging out the door, it should help.
  8. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.955562621126689.1073741875.392751580741132&type=1 Airbus flew 5x A350s in formation yesterday.
  9. Other arm still on schedule for around Christmas? Cat liking the new place?
  10. How'd the surgery go? Healing ok?
  11. Scorpions are very different on different continents. To the best of my knowledge, there are no dangerous scorpions in France.
  12. Ty Baird is coaching in Warsaw now, if you fancy an Aussie coach. Hi, btw. Only just worked out that you are hcsvader
  13. Maybe a Sabre2 97? They seem to fly ok at higher wingloadings, but you'd definitely want to talk to someone that had loaded them past 2.2...
  14. That's a set of station idents for a French TV station - France 3.
  15. Well that sucks. On the plus side: healed by November.
  16. Fais comme l'oiseau. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yr3T8lQdpx8
  17. Check out a furminator. Super-handy for long-haired cats. Use it outside/on your balcony. Pick a vet. Book a checkup/get to know you. That way if she becomes ill or hurts herself, you already have a relationship with a veterinaire. Look at Feliway if you're concerned about her being stressed for the initial few days. Vet can provide. Really does work; we've used it. As someone else said, hair rollers for your clothes. Carrefour has 'em. Anything valuable/delicate should move into a closed cupboard. Some cats deliberately piss or shit on your clothes/bed when stressed or angry with you. Until you know she's not a total pain like that, play it safe with the nice clothes. Congrats on moving in with the boy madame . ps: les chiens sont mieux.
  18. Check Flightcentre and QBE. Both used to cover skydiving on travel insurance, unless you were getting paid to jump (eg as a tandem master). Don't live in AU anymore, so don't know. Skysurfer.com.au would have more up to date info.
  19. In AU, contactless payments are limited to $100. The banks can run a statistical model to keep fraud at an acceptable level. I recently moved to France, where paywave/paypass haven't been widely rolled-out yet. I really miss it. Paying by card taking 5-10s is awesome.
  20. ummmmm -- few ever comment positively on my choice of clothing -- if you ever come over to Texas, ya wanna go shopping? Wendy P. I think we have a deal I do like shopping. (But my purse always tells me 'Shopping? I am empty!') That's what you get for being a TM .
  21. Yes, our cards include: Swipe, Chip, CVV, and Paypass/Paywave (remote no-touch transactions from 3-inch distance or so). Do your cards with the chip, Etc have a protective sleeve to prevent the bad peeps that carry a black box from stealing your CC info? The consumer has no liability for misuse/theft via a Paywave/PayPass transaction.
  22. It's totally normal, at least in US, AU, FR, IE. It's theoretically an anti-fraud measure, though the details of how it works are something I've never dug into.
  23. That's bullshit. Good luck; I know of a trans woman competing at an international level in skydiving. Oh, and buy your beer .
