  1. My fiance's rig is black as well as mine. When I spoke with Velocity, they said that they were testing a piece of fabric from the same stock as my rig (same color too) with Scotch Guard to see what happens. Haven't heard their results yet.
  2. I would wonder about the particular can of Scotch Guard, but my fiance used the other half of the same can on his container.
  3. Thank you to all of you who express sympathy and understanding. I'm not trying to badmouth Velocity, they have been very good to me through this whole thing, but I want to make others aware so that it doesn't happen to them. I did use the Scotch Guard in the can with the red lid (the exact same can my finance used on his rig which turned out fine).
  4. Trust me, I won't be Scotchguarding any containers in the future! I did speak with Velocity again and they've asked me to send the container back so that they can check it out themselves.
  5. I spoke with someone at Velocity and they can't understand why washing it didn't improve the situation. They are going to speak with my DZO and call me back this afternoon.
  6. My fiance, who has been skydiving for 10 years, Scotchguarded my container. He has done the same with his own gear over the years and has never had a problem. He did one of his rigs with the same can of Scotchguard as mine, and his turned out fine. So, it's not the Scotchguard, and it's not the way he did it. I know it doesn't make any sense, but it is what it is.
  7. Yesterday I posted my dilemma with my brand new Infinity and what happened after Scotchguarding it - a cloudy film that makes my container look as if it has been sitting in the sun all summer long. Yesterday, Velocity told me to wash it in a front loading washing machine with Woolite. I did and it looks exactly the same - like crap. I was so excited to get my new container, and now I'm embarrassed to put it on. I'd rather just keep my old Dolphin, considering how bad my new Infinity looks. So, take this as a warning if you're an owner of a new Infinity.
  8. 3M lists no phone number contact, so I e-mailed them with my dilemma - waiting to hear back. My fiance is the one who did the Scotchguarding and he has done it many times successfully with his own container, so I'm sure he didn't use too much. I'm contacting Velocity Sports today. Thanks for your help!
  9. I've tried the brush tactic (the first idea given to me by my DZO) and....no luck. Any other ideas??
  10. I just Scotchguarded my brand new Infinity container (which is black) and when it dried, it dried with a cloudy white film all over it. It looks as if it has been sitting in the sun all summer. Can anyone help me with how to fix this??? It looks AWFUL!!
