  1. People on here have "impressions" of Hawaii but none of them jump here. If you are planning on or thinking about coming to Skydive Hawaii who offers the license in a week you need to call them. We do more student jumps here per year then any mainland DZ, Tandems and AFF. That I can guarantee. We also have at least 10-12 instructors on staff per day and maybe 2 are not AFF rated.
  2. Pre-course is pre-course and evals are evals. Once the evaluation process starts you are doing just that, evals. You don't flip back and fourth because you need more practice. Once you start evaluations usually Cat-D's first that's it. Now, once we start the pre-course we can do as many jumps as you think you need or that time allows. But like I said once you start the evaluation process thats what we're doing. We don't stop in the middle and go back to practice. At that point if you think you need more practice schedule a rating course at a later date.
  3. Jay Stokes will be at Canton Air Sports in May putting on a few courses so if you're in the area and would like to attend give us a call. 330-823-0370 May 22-24 USPA/SDU coaches course May 25-27 Static Line/IAD Instructor May 25- 27 USPA/RWS Vector/Sigma Tandem I Let us know if you're interested slots are filling up fast.
  4. As for the AFFIRC, be prepared. Do as many practice jumps with an evaluator as you can so you're ready when "Yoda" comes back. Knowone ever fails his course due to ground preps so focus on your air skills. I took the course with him back in 04 and aced the course due to being prepared. I did a lot of practice jumps prior to his arrival so I was able to pass in 3 eval jumps. "The AFFIRC is so easy I can't believe everyone doesn't have the rating".
  5. That makes a big difference. Just come out and jump. Check us out and bring your friends. It should be a fun year.
  6. The place has gotten a lot better since then. Now we have a full time turbine which we've never had before. This year should be a good one. Definately come on out because we need a good fun jumper base.
  7. Yup, I'm back in Ohio. I got back here in January and I'll be staying for the season. This is a cool place to jump so come on out and bring your friends.
  8. We have a King Air starting May 1st and it will be here until November. If you're in the area and looking for a cool, laid back place to jump this will be the place to be. We also have an awsome swoop pond for those daring enough to check it out.
  9. In addition to everything else we have here we also have a pretty sweet swoop pond and a large open landing area.
  10. Canton Air Sports has a King Air confirmed starting May 1st. It will be here all summer long so if you're in the area and are looking for a place to jump this will be the place to be. Also if you're an available camera flyer, AFF or Tandem instructor come on out. Plus some pretty big parties with bonfires every Saturday night!
  11. If you've never jumped one and are trying to buy or try one you will be hard pressed to do either. It is an eliptical canopy so most Manufacturers or gear stores won't sell them to you with your jump numbers. It's usually 500 jumps minimum to buy or even demo one from either.
  12. Lonnie, We've been friends for a long time. My question is why are you letting Chuckles run you out? I'm pretty pissed about this whole thing. More so because you're letting Chuck stay there and take over the video concession and you not doing anything about it.....................Get him out!! If you remember I did it last year.........T
  13. Well, I would have been drooling over you but you're married!!! Ok, you have my permission to start the thread...........................
  14. Why is it that you haven't posted about your greatest day at Square One and the hottest guy you've ever worked with? Even if he was a little sick.................................
  15. The best way to do it is to split time with others. It's not only better for you financially but then you get to use their time also if you go in together. So if 4 people go in with 10 minutes a piece you'll leave out of there with 30 minutes of time and only pay for 10. The best day to do tunnel time in Meeker Mondays because the prices are a little lower then any other day of the week. When you get here come into Square 1 and we'll split some time with you for sure. We can also do some coaching with you in there which would be great!!
  16. Bob, don't be giving up my secrets!!!!
  17. I am so not having fun right now. It seems like it's been raining for the last month................When will it end?
  18. I live and work right on the DZ and after a night at the Bombshelter the Tunnel sounds will be the last of your worries. It's actually not that bad.........
  19. Keely, Yeah I've heard about you too and I'm supposed to return the same. Well , when the weather clears come on out.......................
  20. Just book it in advance and you'll be fine. See you in May!!
  21. Hey Chris, It's Tom from Square 1. You're right, the facilities here are great as long as it's not raining and it doesn't really rain here too much. Right now it's some freak weather occurance. Remember, when coming here for a visit to bring extra Bombshelter money!!!
  22. Well you're never coming out here so I'll have to hit on Val, I mean offer up my living space....................
