  1. I think the natural recovery arc is longer on a JVX. My feeling anyway I've only done around 100 JVX jumps though and none back to back with a similar sized JFX. NZ Aerosports can probably give you a more science based answer. The JFX still stays in a dive a long time if you want it to.
  2. I have one. A 99 wing loading about 2.2 Done about 100 jumps on it after having 4 FX 104's over about 10 years. Dives harder than the FX but not as hard as a JVX, planes out better than the FX, flare point is a little different to the FX but great once you get used to it. Light on rears, good for harness turns, don't use a lot of front riser so can't comment. Great! openings. A great team canopy that's a lot of fun when you want it to be but will still get you back from a long spot and has consistently good (in my experience ) openings. Make no mistake, it's still a very high performance canopy and great for swoops. The only thing I don't like about mine is the color.
  3. i thought the front end also became like the front of a Can T, so complete separation for the front two then pick each other up with the other hand facing out? could be wrong on that though did it many years ago
  4. wow, quick response I don't think the REASON for being uncurrent makes any difference to the argument. You will still be less sharp than if you were doing 500+ jumps per year and need to adjust the way you doing thing accordingly. Work backwards form the ground and work out where the seconds get used up. Consider the time used up during a mal when everything doesn't go perfectly ( fumble for the handle, less than instant reserve deployment, line twists on the reserve-the horror!). Point is that so many fatalities are low experience, low currency, had a mal, spent more time than they had sorting it out and impacted as the reserve was deploying. I don't even consider an AAD in the equation As I said ,your choice in the end.
  5. so 400 jumps over 5 years makes you pretty inexperienced AND pretty uncurrent Under a good canopy at a height with minimal time to deal with any potential problem (slow opening followed by linetwists and a spinning canopy springs to mind). You sound like exactly the type of person who turns up in fatality reports. Your call though,If we didn't have mals 800ft would be a great opening height. I guess if you have no responsibility to family etc the extra 2-3 seconds rush is worth the risk
  6. windows media player 11 seems to play them fine. Might need to download a codec for it but I didn't
  7. I exchanged emails with someone in Lagos for about a month tring to get him to at least pay for the freight for the brick I was going to send him instead of the laptop he was trying to scam me for. He said he was a priest so I told him the money was for my sick daughters operation. Didn't slow him down a bit. Sent copies of all his emails to the Nigerian fraud office and the ISP that was hosting the fake Moneygram site telling me his payment had been received and I should send the goods. In the end I spent 45 cents sending him a letter with Micky mouse giving him the bird instead of the laptop. Haven't heard back surprisingly.
